Chapter 1767
He still thought that night three years ago was just something between him and Georgia. He never imagined it would result in a child!
"Georgia, do you realize what you're saying?" Alaric warned sharply.
If Georgia was using this as a tactic to sabotage his and Hertha's wedding, he wouldn't let her get away with it!
"Let's talk it over. Bring Hertha with you, and let's head to the café next door," Georgia said calmly, holding the child as she walked out of the city hall.
Alaric looked at Hertha with a mix of regret and guilt, attempting to hold her hand. "Hertha..."
"Don't touch me!" Hertha snapped, pulling away and walking ahead.
She wasn't the type to run from a problem. If Georgia was ready to lay things out, she was ready to understand them in detail. This way, she could make an informed decision about where to go from here.
Alaric's attempt to hold Hertha's hand was futile, leaving him feeling hollow and pained inside. Watching Hertha follow Georgia, he picked up the family register from his work desk and followed them.
In the café, with its tranquil atmosphere, Alaric and Hertha sat on one side, with Georgia and the child opposite them. The little boy was quite handsome, with striking eyes that bore a resemblance to Alaric.
His eyes, curious yet timid, were fixated on Alaric and Hertha as he snuggled into Georgia, too scared to move. Georgia gently stroked his head, soothingly saying, "Alar, don't be scared. He's not a bad man. He's your dad."Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Alar, the little boy, didn't speak, his eyes still timidly fixed on Alaric and Hertha.
After calming Alar, Georgia
addressed the matter at hand. She sternly said to Alaric, "Three years ago, you and were together at a hotel, and ended up pregnant. I told my family, and they pressured you into an engagement with me. You went along with it, and after our engagement, I realized I was pregnant. Do you remember? After we got engaged, I went abroad for a year under the pretext of studying business. The truth is, I wasn't
learning business; I was away giving birth..."
“Georgia, be responsible with your words!" Alaric suppressed his anger, unwilling to believe Georgia's words any longer. He had accumulated enough disappointment over the last three years.
Indeed, Georgia went abroad for a
year after their engagement, supposedly to learn business with
her father. But given Georgia's arrogant and domineering personality, if she had been
pregnant with his child, wouldn't she have used that to force him into marriage immediately? How could she possibly go abroad to secretly have the child and then return alone?
"You still don't believe me, do you? What I'm saying is true!" Georgia said, distressed. "I know using the child to force you into marriage would have been more
l
straightforward, but I didn't want to do that. I wanted you to marry me because you truly wanted to, because you really loved me, not because of obligation. That's why I kept the child a secret."
Georgia explained why she hadn't disclosed the existence of their child.
