Chapter 1749
Alaric glanced back at Thalassa, who was visibly agitated. Her brows furrowed in worry; it was clear she was itching to get inside.
Turning to the bouncer, Alaric said, "I'm a friend of the groom, here by invitation. Aren't guests allowed inside?"
The bouncer, familiar with Alaric, hesitated nheless. "I need to see your invitation."NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
This bouncer was part of Lysander's security team, no stranger to Alaric and aware of his close friendship with Lysander. But today, the bouncer was acting under orders not just from Lysander, but also from Joshua. Joshua had been explicit: no invitation, no entry. It was their necks on the line otherwise. Just a guy on the job, the bouncer couldn't shoulder such risk.
Alaric began to panic, "I... I forgot my invite at home."
"That won't do. Please retrieve your invite, then you can enter," the bouncer insisted.
Before Alaric could respond, Hertha pulled him and Thalassa aside. In a hushed tone, she plotted, "Alaric, remember how we got Thalassa out of that hotel room before?"
"Diversion?" Alaric guessed.
"Exactly," Hertha nodded, "we use the same trick. Distract the guards, and Thalassa slips in."
Alaric eyed the bouncers dubiously. "There are six of them. You sure we can lead them all away?"
"One of us for every two," Hertha said.
“That's too complicated. Let's just knock them out," Lydia suggested bluntly.
Without waiting for a response, Lydia strode towards the bouncers, gesturing them over with a flick of her wrist. The bouncers looked at her as if she'd lost her mind. As she approached, her hand moved swiftly, chopping one on the neck. Before the bouncer could react, he was out cold. The other bouncer langed at her, but with another swift motion, Lydia had him down too.
"Secure the entrance! We've got trouble!" More bouncers rushed towards the commotion.
Lydia met them head-on, fists and feet flying.
Hertha was in awe, "Damn, girl!"
Giving Lydia a thumbs-up, Hertha grabbed Thalassa and dashed into the hotel, "Hurry, Thalassa, we've got a window!"
More bouncers attempted to block
their path, but Alaric engaged them, clearing a way for Thalassa. Amidst the chaos, Thalassa finally made it to the banquet hall.
On stage, Lysander sat in a wheelchair, dashing in a suit and bow tie, his hair slicked back, already in the groom's spot. Rosalind, in a stunning white dress, looked every bit the princess. Joshua, holding her hand, led her down the aisle towards Lysander. Seeing this, Thalassa's heart pounded with urgency.
