The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 1730

After Joshua had put everything on the line to help her, leading to a scandal that threatened to tank the Whitman Group, Thalassa felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. The news only added to her stress. The losses were too great for her to bear alone.

What could she possibly do to turn things around?

Thalassa quickly got out of bed, freshened up, and decided to seek out Joshua for some answers.

Just as she was about to head out, she bumped right into Hertha, who had hurried over in a frenzy.

"Thalassa, where are you off to?" Hertha grabbed Thalassa by the shoulders, her voice laced with curiosity and urgency.

"I was going to find Joshua, to see what's going on," Thalassa replied honestly.

"Let's hold off on seeing him for now. Come, I've got a video for you to watch. I can't fathom what Joshua was thinking, trying to solve his company's crisis in such a way!" Hertha exclaimed, clearly infuriated, as she led the way inside.

"What? Joshua found a way to deal with the crisis?" Thalassa was taken aback, not expecting Joshua to have devised a solution so quickly.

Just moments ago, she was worried about Joshua.

And in the next, Hertha was telling her that Joshua had already figured out how to cope. No wonder he was so calm in front of the reporters yesterday, openly revealing her as his daughter without showing any concern for the negative impact it might have. He must have had a contingency plan all along.

But what exactly was his plan?

Hertha settled onto the couch and gestured for Thalassa to join her. "Thalassa, take a look. The Whitman Group is holding a press conference, and it's being live-streamed."

Thalassa sat beside Hertha, watching the live broadcast on the tablet together.

The press conference was indeed for the Whitman Group, with three people present: Joshua, Rosalind, and Lysander!

Joshua began, "Regarding my daughter Thalassa, I owe everyone an explanation. She is indeed my biological daughter, but she was born before my marriage, from a relationship with another woman. I have never betrayed my marriage."

"But, as far as we understand, Reginald is older than Thalassa, which means after you had Reginald with your wife, you had Thalassa with another woman. How do you explain this?" One reporter, well-prepared, challenged Joshua's family history.

So, Joshua's explanation didn't hold water. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Joshua responded, "My son was born out of wedlock, before my current wife and I were married."

"So, you're saying you did betray love," another sharp reporter interjected.

Joshua couldn't explain that he had been tricked into being with Thalassa's mother, and even if he did, the public would likely not believe him, making things worse.

"The purpose of today's press conference," Joshua continued, "is firstly to clarify that I have not betrayed my marriage, only love, and my wife understands me, which is all that matters. I don't care about public opinion. Secondly, I'm announcing some good news: my daughter Rosalind is set to marry Lysander Sinclair, CEO of the Sinclair Group, the day after tomorrow at ten in the morning. Following their marriage, I will step down as CEO of the Whitman Group, and Lysander, my son-in- law, will take over. The Whitman Group and the Sinclair Group will officially merge."

"Holy smokes, Rosalind's getting married to Lysander!" Hertha exclaimed, dropping a bombshell as she was completely taken aback by Joshua's announcement.
