Chapter 1702
Hertha's pout worked like a charm on Kimberly. Three years ago, they had a massive fallout, and in a moment of anger, Kimberly had harshly told Hertha that once she left home, she should never come back.
Stubborn as ever, Hertha took those words to heart and indeed hadn't returned in three years, nor had she ever called.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
During these years, with no news from Hertha, Kimberly was consumed with worry and longed to reach out, but her pride got in the way.
She regretted those harsh words deeply. After all, no matter how headstrong her daughter was, she was still her daughter. How could she have told her to never return?
Now that they had reconciled, Kimberly was fully committed to thinking of her daughter's well-being.
Hugging Hertha tightly, Kimberly smiled, "Of course, I was quite the belle of the ball in my younger days."
"And my mom was the brightest star of them all," Hertha replied with a grin.
On this Saturday, Hertha couldn't wait to visit Star Harbor Villa.
Thalassa Everhart was busy sketching out some designs when Hertha, sitting beside her, animatedly shared the events of the past few days.
"Did you and Alaric really... you know?" Thalassa asked, curiosity piqued.
"Ha, you accused me of gossiping before, and look at you now, all fired up with curiosity. It's a shame there's no mirror here; you'd see your face is more animated than a tabloid journalist's," Hertha laughed, not embarrassed in the slightest.
Thalassa laughed along, "Don't change the subject. Did you and Alaric end up rolling in the hay?"
"Yeah," Hertha nodded vigorously, "Last night. It was thrilling."
Thalassa blinked in disbelief, "Hertha, weren't you the one who was bothered by his past with Georgia?"
"How could you just jump into bed with Alaric like that?"
"Yeah, I was upset about it last night, didn't want to forgive him. But he was so.. persuasive, you know? When I stormed off to the room, he followed, wrapped his arms around me, and kissed me passionately. My brain just short-circuited."
Hertha gave Thalassa a suggestive look, nudging her shoulder, "I'm not exactly the innocent type when it comes to men. You get me." Thalassa facepalmed, teasingly, "Hertha, you're hopeless."
"Ha, takes one to know one," Hertha boasted proudly.
"Eh?" Hertha suddenly realized something, surprised, "You're missing the point. I told you all this and you're not curious about how my mom could dig up Alaric's love life from the past three years, but only ask about me and him?"
Thalassa avoided Hertha's

"Your mom has her ways.
It's not strange for her to find things
out."
"I'm just really curious, when did my mom get to know someone who's so informed about Alaric?" Hertha pondered, chin in hand. "Cough," Thalassa just coughed lightly, saying nothing.
Realizing Thalassa's off behavior, Hertha suddenly pointed at her, "Did my mom call you last night?"
"I'm busy with my drawing here. If you've got nothing else, go find something to play with," Thalassa dodged, trying to shoo Hertha away.
