Chapter 1681
Five hours later, a complete investigation report landed on Angelina's desk. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head at what she saw! Hertha, aside from her relationship with Alaric, had been involved with a man named Spencer. But that relationship fizzled out after a few months. Hertha had given birth to twins after her split from Spencer. Based on the twins' birth dates, there was a real possibility they were Alaric's!
Hertha had been clear about her encounter with Alaric at the Falconer estate, which was also her first time. This ruled out the possibility of Hertha fooling around with another man before her visit to the Falconer estate.
It was puzzling. Hertha and Spencer were on the verge of tying the knot, so why the sudden breakup? If the twins were indeed Spencer's, wouldn't they have marched straight to the altar instead of parting ways? The only plausible explanation was that Hertha was carrying another man's child. And that child belonged to Alaric!
Reviewing the data, Angelina, reverse-engineering the dates, was both shocked and amazed to discover the children were indeed Alaric's!ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Angelina, what are you up to? Dinner's ready, I've called you a couple of times but you didn't respond," Beatrice pushed open the door to the study and entered, concern in her voice.
Angelina's heart skipped a beat. She quickly gathered the papers and stashed them in a drawer, masking her shock with a smile. "Oh, nothing, just got caught up in a document. I was so focused I didn't hear you..."
Beatrice walked over, eyeing her curiously before glancing at the drawer and reaching to open it. "You've stepped back from the company, what document could possibly have you this engrossed? Let me see."
Angelina's heart raced, fearing Beatrice would discover the secret. She grabbed Beatrice's hand playfully, "Mom, it's nothing, just a little personal hobby of mine. Let's go out for dinner."
Beatrice chuckled at her coaxing, "Look at you, all grown up and still secretive about your hobbies."
"Oh dear, caught by mom," Angelina playfully swayed Beatrice's arm.
Laughing, Beatrice didn't pursue it further.
Before leaving the study, Angelina glanced back at the desk drawer, her heart still racing. This was something Beatrice and Remington couldn't find out. Otherwise, Alaric's chance of taking over the Falconer Group would be doomed.
After venting to Thalassa about Alaric over the phone, Hertha fell into a troubled sleep. Meanwhile, Thalassa, after hanging up, spent the night working on her design sketches. She had made it to the next round of the competition and had only ten days to turn her sketches into a finished product for the models to showcase. With the clock ticking, she worked tirelessly. Engrossed in her work, she
eventually fell asleep at her desk.
Outside, a drone hovered near Thalassa's window, its infrared light piercing through the glass, scanning the inside. The red beam danced
across Thalassa's sleeping face
unnoticed by her. After lingering for a while, the drone veered off heading towards a park not far from Star Harbor Villa, where it began to descend.
