The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 178

Chapter 178

The remaining two couldn’t stop themselves from laughing. “If you don’t mind that this is my third marriage,” Paris Mallik patted Ares Beleza’s shoulder. Ares grimaced and rolled his eyes. Taurus Phyton chuckled to himself and raised his glass to his lips. “Regardless of the outcome, Morgan Corporation is deserving of this project. Congratulations.” Ivy responded by raising her brows and lifting her glass. “I appreciate it, Mr. Phyton.” Taurus’ eyes flitted open. “I was informed that Mr. Parker had been injured. Is he all right? We had an appointment to go golfing a few days ago, but his assistant canceled it at the last minute. I intended to visit him, but I was simply too preoccupied with work.” “I’m not certain,” Ivy admitted. After all, no one except the Morgan family was aware that Ivy was caring for Wyatt. She did not want rumors to spread like wildfire. Taurus chuckled. “Oh, right. How would you know about Mr. Parker’s condition if you and Mr. Parker are already divorced?” Ivy’s smile became slightly frozen. She swept a glance at Taurus Phyton with cold eyes. Although Taurus made it appear unintentional, he was deliberately bringing it on this occasion. Taurus gave Ivy and Marco a slightly surprised look. “Is it possible that Mr. Seely is still unaware of your relationship with Mr. Parker?” The other two people standing on the side exchanged strange glances with Taurus. They were perplexed as to why he brought up this subject at this time. If there was something between Ivy and Marco, bringing it up could hurt their relationship. Ivy gave a faint smile. Her tone was icy. “Mr. Phyton, I appreciate your concern, but there is no reason to publicize my relationship with Mr. Parker?” Taurus’s brow furrowed. He gave a faint smile. “It was an inadvertent slip of the tongue.” Marco spoke in a soft tone. “Mr. Phyton, you do not need to be concerned about this. I’ve known Ms. Morgan for a long period, and there is no reason to discuss her personal life.” Marco’s phone

began to ring immediately after he said this. He regarded the group with a slight frown. “Excuse me.” Ivy was left in the company of the other three. She smiled innocuously as if nothing were wrong. “Have you and Mr. Seely known each other for a long time, Ms. Morgan?” Taurus inquired astutely. Ivy raised her eyebrows, thinking he appeared excessively concerned. “I am not going to tell you.” Ivy smugly laughed at Taurus’s stiff smile and turned to find a seat. Jimmy appeared from nowhere dressed as a parvenu. There was even a rose protruding from the pocket of his suit jacket. “I have enquired plainly, Ms. Morgan...” Ivy was taken aback and speechless upon seeing him in this state. She desired to appear as if she were unaware of his existence. On the other hand, Jimmy was not self–aware and sat by her side. “Ms. Morgan, I’ve just made contact with Marco Seely. He has lived abroad as an expatriate for a long period and has a diverse range of business interests. He’s been single for years, yet there isn’t a single woman in his vicinity.” Ivy frowned and cut him off. “What are you attempting to convey?” “Consider it. Such ideal circumstances without the presence of a woman? I’m 80% certain he’s gay!” Jimmy addressed the audience with assurance. Ivy rubbed her temples helplessly. “He has a son!” Jimmy leaned in closer to Ivy, his voice lowered. “I’ve heard that his son bears no resemblance to him. Even if Marco Seely is not gay, I’m guessing no one wants to be that child’s stepmother.” Jimmy sighed and looked longingly up at his round, chubby face. “They are both strong men, but our Mr. Parker is completely pure. He is not embroiled in any messy scandals or has a child, and he only has eyes for you. He is simply so noble and pure. If I had to choose between Marco Seely and our Mr. Parker, I’d choose Mr. Parker if I were a woman!”

Ivy raised her glass to her lips and took a large sip of wine. She was adamant about not speaking with Jimmy. She merely desired to maintain the illusion that she was unfamiliar with him! Jimmy and Ivy’s one-sided conversation quickly drew the attention of the others. Taurus Phyton remained unafraid and approached with his glass of wine. He gave Jimmy an odd look. “This gentleman is...” Ivy had no intention of bringing Jimmy into the picture. On the contrary, Jimmy rose to his feet and examined Taurus. Taurus’s eye possessed a complex desire that appeared to be tinged with hatred and malice. Jimmy chuckled. His eyes narrowed into slits as he approached Taurus to shake his hands. “My, my! It’s been a very long time!” Taurus paused for a moment to consider. They must have met previously, judging by how familiar this man appeared, but Taurus couldn’t recall who it was. He gave a stiff smile. “Yes, likewise. I noticed you and Ms. Morgan having a pleasant conversation. Am I interfering?” “Certainly not!” Jimmy motioned with his hand. He was composed, candid, and unafraid. At first glance, Jimmy appeared to be well–acquainted with the locals. His performance was flawless. Taurus offered a meaningful smile to the two individuals. “Ms. Morgan, you are truly so beautiful that men flock to you wherever you go...” “How are people like us deserving of Ms. Morgan?” Jimmy cut him off and took a serious look at Taurus Phyton. Although Jimmy had no idea who Taurus was, Taurus appeared to be a wealthy man with obvious malice toward Ivy. “As you can see, I’m extremely obese and illiterate, while you’re quite elderly. Let us not embarrass ourselves. Individuals such as Ms. Morgan deserve only individuals such as Mr. Parker.” Taurus had a cunning smile at first, but it quickly faded after hearing Jimmy’s words. ‘He’s referring to me as old?!’ “What company do you work for?” Taurus inquired. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

He had a sincere smile and an inquisitive demeanor. His eyes, on the other hand, appeared dangerous. Taurus appeared as if he could easily bankrupt the company as soon as Jimmy informed him. He possessed the capacity to do so. “I’m not going to tell!” As Jimmy stated. Instantaneously, the atmosphere became stagnant. Ivy was debating whether to say a few words for Jimmy when she unintentionally met Marco’s gaze from a distance. Marco hung up and took a brisk walk over. His expression was a little melancholy. He took Ivy’s wrist in his grip and whispered in her ear. “He’s awake and can speak. The doctor told us to hurry up and see him. That driver regained consciousness? Ivy was taken aback and followed him silently. Nobody noticed the instantaneous change in Taurus Phyton’s face after Marco said this. Jimmy regarded Taurus with caution and trotted after Ivy. He was, however, too late. Marco and Ivy have already departed. Bill sped away in another car and vanished into the night. Jimmy motioned with his hand. Because he was too slow, no one waited for him. Ivy sat there apprehensively. “Is he awake?” Marco chuckled softly. The pricey watch on his wrist glowed in the darkness, reflecting the cold streetlights. “No, that individual cannot be saved in any way.” Ivy became immobile. “Is this a trap?” She had an epiphany when she suddenly remembered what Marco had said earlier. “Is one of those three the mastermind behind this?” Marco regarded her with admiration. Ivy’s heart sank instantly. She had assumed it was one of her adversaries, but she had never

offended any of those three previously... ‘Could it be that Marco selected Morgan Corporation for the job?!’ Ivy raised her eyes and locked her gaze on Marco. His voice was icy and resonant. “You guessed correctly. Indeed, it is due to the project.” Ivy’s expression was perplexing until she regained her composure. “How did you become aware of them?” Marco’s eyes glowed. His tone was frosty. “I’ve got my eyes on them and just got the news. They are looking for the same private detective who earns a commission by laundering money and transferring assets for the wealthy. The additional funds in the driver’s bank account came from an offshore account held by this private detective.” Ivy was taken aback. “Do you think it’s them?” She had a sneaking suspicion it was Taurus Phyton. Although Ares was impolite, he was an honest man. Paris Mallik had always been deceptive and circumspect. Only Taurus Phyton’s words revealed a malignant intent. It was highly inconvenient for her. “We’ll find out shortly,” Marco stated.
