The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

Change of plans

Lana’s POV

“I guess even Roman can’t save both you and the bastard you’re carrying.” I smirked as I brought the knife closer to Sofie’s abdomen.

“I will do anything you want me to do, Lana. Please don’t touch an innocent child who didn’t even wrong you.” She begged, with tears cascading down her face.

I smiled, satisfied as I looked from Sofie to Roman who was still struggling to ease himself from underneath my men’s combined weights.

“Give up, babe. You can never get out of there.” I yelled across the bunker, which drew out a chuckle from my dad.

Eww, it sounded cringey as hell to call the deadbeat my dad. But I had to do what I had to do to get his assistance and trust, even if that meant using his guilt against him.

I darted him a fake smile. “Glad to see that you’re enjoying yourself, dad.”

He nodded. “I sure am. You sure know how to put on an entertaining show, darling.”

I just smiled again before I turned to Sofie whose cries had now been reduced to soft whimpers.

“You called that bastard inside you an innocent child, didn’t you?” I scoffed. “That bastard is nothing but a stupid mistake that doesn’t deserve to be alive.”

Sofie didn’t seem to be listening to me because she had her eyes fixated on something behind me.

I huffed as I followed her gaze only to see that Roman had now successfully wrestled my men off him, and now had a gun pointed to one of them.

Those stupid, big for nothing fools. They just couldn’t do anything right.

“Calm down, Roman. Don’t do something stupid, we both know you don’t have the heart to do it.” I taunted him, as he tightened his hold on this trigger.

Roman could do everything but kill a mere insect.

He was too kindhearted for all that.

But I was shocked out of my mind when I heard the sound of gunshots thrice, and my men fell down to the ground one after the other, with a loud thud.

Maybe I was really a psychopath like Sofie had earlier accused me to be because I found Roman sexier at that moment.

Watching him stand among the fallen bodies of the thugs with his shirt buttoned halfway, and his shirt sleeves rolled to his elbow did something to me.

It made my pussy wet with desire.

My desire for Roman grew immensely that day. I wanted him to fuck me right there and right then in front of Sofie.

I wanted to break the bitch’s heart into pieces.

“R-Roman, what have you done?” I heard Sofie scream, and I rolled my eyes in displeasure.

“Oh, please. Have you gone blind? You can clearly see that he shot them.” I scoffed.

“They’re not dead, cara. I just wanted to teach them a lesson for underestimating me.” Roman said.

Something about hearing him call Sofie by a pet name instilled great anger inside me because while we were dating, he never called me by a pet name.

Even when we had sex in the past.

“Do you want to know the real reason behind why I suddenly broke things off with you?” Roman began as he walked toward me, with his gun pointed at me.

“Now there’s a real reason, huh?” I snorted.

“Yeah, and we both know that you know it deep down inside you.” He retorted.

“If I fucking knew it like you claim, would I ask you?” I countered.

“I caught you in bed with Lucas on your fucking birthday!” He yelled, and the knife fell off my hand.

“I-I-” I couldn’t talk sensibly as I moved closer to Roman.Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

“See, you can’t even deny it. You introduced that fucker to me as your cousin. The bastard you’ve been fucking since you were in high school was your cousin. I guess I was really stupid that I couldn’t even put two and two together.” He chuckled mirthlessly as he shook his head.

“Well, you partly caused it too.” I said, and he glared at me.

“What?” He barked. “How did I cause it?”

“You were never available for me. You were always at work. You never even loved me, it was basically a one-sided love.” I yelled.

“I made it clear to you from the beginning that I was never going to love you. Both you and your management agreed with it. We signed a contract to remain loyal to each other throughout the duration of our contract. But what did you do? You cheated!” Roman hollered.

“So you’re saying I caused it?” I bellowed.

He snorted out an incredulous laughter. “I’m not trying to say it. I’m telling you that you cheated.”

“Then, you decided to get back at me by dating this cheap whore, huh?” I motioned toward Sofie whose countenance was devoid of emotion.

“Mind your fucking language when you speak to my woman, Lana. If anyone is a whore here, it is none other than you.” He hurled.

I gazed into Roman’s grey eyes and he had nothing but anger and hatred in those eyes for me.

A realization I’ve been trying hard to avoid dawned on me and I exhaled heavily as my hands shook with frustration.

No matter what I did, Roman would never love me.

Even if I killed Sofie like I was planning to do, he would never reciprocate my love.

I would always be the discarded side piece struggling to get his attention.

And I couldn’t have that. I wanted to be the one and only woman in his life.

The only woman who he treasured and deeply cared for.

If I couldn’t have Roman, no other woman should be able to have him.

With that resolve, I swiftly retrieved my gun from inside my jacket and shot him thrice in the chest.

Sofie’s agonizing, screeching scream reverberated across the bunker as Roman fell to his knees with his teeth clenched as he clutched his blood-soaked chest.

“What have you done, Lana?” Sofie yelled but I was too dazed to even register what I had done.

“If I can’t have him, no one should have him.” I chanted like a mantra as I moved around the bunker like a possessed person.

I would rather kill Roman and happily go to prison than watch him get married to someone else other than me.
