“Mike came here? What did he do?” I asked Sandy in disbelief when she told me that Mike came here.

Sandy grinned. “He’s looking for you, he didn’t say the reason,” she said and shrugged. “Maybe he still loves you?”

I almost threw up at the last thing she said. “Sandy! Don’t talk like that,” I said annoyed. “I don’t know why Chelsey is saying that Mike might have an affair, they’re both cheaters! They’re disgusting!”

Sandy laughed loudly upon hearing this. “Maybe Mike is fed up with Chelsey, so he wants to go back to you?”

“I hope he has something to come back to!” I said annoyed. “The thing that annoys me the most is that they think the reason I came back is because I want Mike to be the father of my children, Chelsey thought I was going to take that beast of a man away from him!”

Sandy’s laughter got louder. “How did she think that?! I can’t believe Mike is going to marry her! They’re not even ashamed! They’re both dirty!”

I sighed. “Maybe dad is afraid that he won’t get the benefits of Mike’s company if he doesn’t marry me, so now, Chelsey is the one he’s going to marry,” I murmured. “Dad has been telling me for a long time that Mike’s family company will help our company when we get married, I’m annoyed because dad seems to be saying that I’m only going to marry Mike because of the company, but I really loved that man then.”

Sandy also sighed at what I heard. “How did you cope with everything? You were raped and then you saw your ex-fiance make out with you stepsister, how did you cope with all that?” she said and I could feel the sadness in her voice.

I looked away. “I almost committed suicide, but I always remind myself that there are children who have a future inside of me. That’s why I don’t know how and until now I’m still breathing because many times I wished that I would just disappear in the world,” I promised.

Sandy is speechless.

“I’m here with myself, I want to leave my body, I can’t even look at my body in the mirror because of the trauma I experienced,” I said sadly. “I don’t know how I survived living alone abroad, I didn’t tell anyone else what happened to me, only you, Sandy. I kept everything to myself, I also know that dad can’t do anything for me, well it’s just because I didn’t tell him either.”

“But it’s hard, very hard, even though I’m depressed, I still tried to fix my life because I felt sorry for my future child. If I can’t take care of myself properly, how can they be?” I continue. “That’s why I consider Caleb and Aria to be blessings in my life, they are my only happiness, without them I might not exist at all.”

I wondered why Sandy hadn’t spoken yet, when I looked at her I saw her silently crying.

“Hey! Why are you crying?” I said confused but she just faced me and hugged me tightly.

“I’m disgusted with myself because I wasn’t even by your side when you were at that point in your life,” she cried into my shoulder and I bit my bottom lip. “I should have been the one by your side at that time, but I wasn’t. What if you ended up killing yourself? I have no idea what you’re going through.”

“It’s okay, it’s not your fault. Like you said, you have no idea what I’m going through because I chose not to tell you,” I said. “So you don’t need to be upset with yourself, I should be the one to thank you because I was by your side when I gave birth to Caleb and Aria.”

“But even! I hope I helped you!”

“You always called me when I was abroad, huh? I’m glad because I thought you’d forget about me when I’m abroad,” I said. “There are times when I cry and you will suddenly call, do you know how much better I feel every time we talk? You don’t even know my problem, but you make me feel better without realizing it.”

“I love you, Amelia. We’ve been friends for a long time, you know I don’t want you to get hurt, so please don’t be afraid to tell me because I’m your friend,” Sandy whispered and I just smiled.
