MISTAKE 239
Chapter 239: A deal is made
"Mrs Shaw," she said, greeting Vivian as though she knew who she was. “I am Yvaine Bhrum," she introduced her self
"Hmm..." Vivian hums in response.
"I will be making sure that the package is in perfect condition," Yvaine said and they walked through the doors. In the car a bit away, Mathew looks at Vivian's form ans smiles.
"She sure is a good actress," he comments. He suddenly thought, depending on how well she does, it would be a waste to just let her go. He picked up the phone and made a call.
"Find out all you can about this Vivian. Make it fast," he ordered before ending the call. The driver in front glanced back at the boss with a slight worry.
"I hear that madam Ho is quite bloody in her approach to issues, sir. Are you sure Miss Greyson will be okay?" he asked and Mathew chuckled. "Wouldn't that be more interesting?" he asked, "It is a shame to not see how good her acting skills are at that moment."
Vivian smoothed down her elegant dress as she walked through the doors of the large
warehouse, Miss Bruhm and the bodyguards Joe and others following closely behind her. She had to play her role perfectly as Mrs. Shaw.
"Mrs Shaw is here to see Madam Hou," Yvaine said and the staff froze and greeted Vivian respectfully before hurrying off.
Running off to inform Madam Ho, he stopped by the door to her office "Mrs. Shaw is here!" he informed Madam Hou. A small Asian woman dressed in a back dress.
"Mrs Shaw?" Madam Hou asked as she got up, "Which Mrs Shaw? Daniel Shaw's wife?"
"No, It should be his younger brother, Mathew,"
"Mathew Shaw is married?" she asked.
"I do not know, Madam. The appraiser from the Shaw family introduced her as Mrs Shaw,"
the staff said.
Madam Hou emerged, looking surprised. Mathew Shaw was a mysterious man. His life was quite the mystery. She had no idea he was married, but she knew better than to question it.
She did not for a moment doubt that this was not Mrs Shaw as she did not think it was possible for anyone to be stupid enough to impersonate Mathew Shaw's wife.
"Welcome, Mrs. Shaw," Madam Hou said respectfully as she approached. "Please, come this way to a private room.

Vivian gave a slight nod and followed Madam Hou to a back room, her face an unreadable
mask. Yvaine and the bodyguards trailed them.
Once inside, Vivian cut right to the chase. "I'm here for package 24," she stated coldly.
dam Hou nodded slowly. "Of course. Let me have someone retrieve that for turned to a staff member. "Go get package 24 for Mrs. Shaw immediately."
you." sheThis text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
As the staff rushed away, Madam Hou looked back at Vivian. "I trust you have the prepared, Mrs. Shaw?"
payment
Vivian didn't bother to open her mouth, simply giving a casual gesture towards Joe. The bodyguard opened a small box, revealing a dazzling array of diamonds inside.
Shock could not be enough to describe Vivian's feeling when seeing the likely illegal and extremely valuable diamonds. But she was an expert at hiding her emotions. She had to stay completely in character. She was not going to falter here. She turned away from the small box as though she had not seen anything.
Madam Ho's eyes scanned the diamonds as Joe handed it over to her to verify. "Ah, good payment. Very good payment."
Just then, the staff member returned looking flustered. "Madam Ho...package 24 was sold
already. Without your permission."
There was a tense pause. Vivian remained perfectly composed, betraying no reaction.
Madam Ho's face darkened with anger. "Who sold it?" she demanded, causing the staff to shrink under her furious gaze.
"L-Liu Xiang, Madam. He took it upon himself..."
Madam Ho's e
narrowed to slits. "Bring him here. Now."
Soon, a man was dragged into the room by Madam Hou's tall henchmen and thrown at Vivian's feet. "Please, Mrs. Shaw, Madam Ho, I'm so sorry!" he blubbered. "I didn't think-"
"He was caught trying to run, Madam Hou," a henchman said.
Vivian did not even glance at the groveling man. She sampled her manicure with great disinterest.
Madam Hou looked at her apologetically. "Please forgive this foolishness, Mrs. Shaw. We will retrieve package 24 for you immediately."
She nodded at her thugs, who seized the man again. One drew a large machete and Vivian's soul almost ascended to heaven. She tried to calm down, he breath stable and steady, and her expression unmoved, Vivian watched stoically as the thug hacked the screaming man's arm off in one brutal stroke, spraying blood across the floor.
It took every fiber of Vivian's being not to vomit in horror. Joe looked furious. "Why would you spill blood in front of the lady?" he growled at Madam Hou.
Vivian focused on not visibly reacting, calmly brushing her dress to ensure no blood had splashed on her new skirt. "What's all this noise?" she asked Madam Hou evenly.
"Please forgive the disturbance, Mrs. Shaw," Madam Hou said quickly, signaling for the man with one less hand, writhing and creaming on the floor to be removed. "Let's get you that package right away."
Soon, a large metal case was brought before them. Madam Hou opened it herself, revealing an array of firearms and ammunition inside package 24. If Vivian was stupid enough to not know when the arm of a man flew so randomly, that she had walked into a center of activities done at night, she definitely knew now. But unlike the movies, these transactions were made in daylight.
Yvaine stepped forward professionally to inspect the goods, nodding in satisfaction after her examination. She gave Vivian a slight nod.
"We'll take our leave then," Vivian told Madam Ho. She led the way out,
way out, Yvaine and the bodyguards following with package in tow. Package 24 was over five crates, all of which the guards did the work of carrying, while Vivian left without care.
Outside, their car was parked with Mathew still inside. Vivian got into the back seat next to
him.
"I expect my final payment now that the job is done," she stated.
Mathew raised an eyebrow in question at Joe, who nodded. "We got package 24, boss."
A slow smile spread across Mathew's face and he tapped on his phone, transferring a large sum to Vivian's account. "Miss Greysone is really good at her business," he complimented. His words made Vivian pause. She did not recall giving Mathew her name.
They drove a few blocks before Vivian spoke again. "Drop me at the next bus stop."
When they stopped, Vivian exited without another word.
She hoped that she had heard the last of Mathew Shaw, but for now, her job was completed. She had played the part of Mrs. Shaw flawlessly a little too well. She flagged a taxi and got in. she felt as though she had committed crime. In the back seat, the scene of the man's arm being cut off kept playing in a loop. She wondered how she was going to live with this information. Looking at the money in her bank account, she was not sure if she regretted it. At that moment, as though the debt collectors were psychic, her phone rang.
"Yes?" Vivian answered.
"Miss Greyson, you are entering your sixth month due.....” the man on the other end of the line started to say.
"I was just about to make some payment. Please hold on. Vivian transferred all the money she made today leaving behind ten thousand dollars. After she was done, the same number called
again. She picked and the voice was more amlable
"It is good that Miss Greyson has us in mind. Pleas continue to make payment on time," the voice on the phone said and ended the call. Vivian's already shaking hand was now completely trembling, scaring the taxi driver into asking If she needed help.
