The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 550

Chapter 550

He said to Robbie, “You slept with Penelope? What’s your proof? She’s a real blue blood, a rich girl. And you? You’re just a street rat.”

Robbie’s eyes lit up at the mention of sex. “Hughes, you don’t know the half of it. Penelope’s a wild one between the sheets. I had a fling with her at the Blue Club once. Got it on video.”

Hughes’ interest was aroused. “Send me that video.”

Robbie couldn’t refuse. “It’s at my cousin’s house. I didn’t dare keep it at mine. Penelope came sniffing around for it once, and asked me to delete everything. But I kept a backup, just in case.”

“You stay put right here, Robbie. Don’t you dare step out of the Blue Club. I don’t know who you’ve pissed off, but someone’s got a price. on your head,” he warned. His voice was heavy with the threat..

Of course, no one was really out to take Robbie down, but there had been too many people asking about him lately. Hughes figured it was probably due to that video. He felt it was better to keep the guy under his watchful eye.

Robbie’s bravado faded, and the fear crept into his voice. “Mr. Hughes, you must help me.” Robbie had made enemies, plenty of them, so he couldn’t guess who was out for blood. He turned to Hughes for help.

“Stay inside the Blue Club and keep your mouth shut, and I’ll keep you breathing,” he said sternly.

“Got it, got it. I’m on it.”

As Hughes turned to leave, Robbie called out, “Hey, can I have my cousin come over? Haven’t seen her for days, and I kinda miss her.”

Hughes knew better. Robbie’s cousin was nothing of the sort. She must be an old flame.

“Keep your cousin’s lips sealed,” he warned.

This room was where Hughes dealt with business. He pushed the door open and there was Emma, already waiting on the couch.

“I got that video you wanted,” he said as he approached her.

“Thanks a lot,” Emma replied. Her voice was tinged with a husky gratitude.

“I’ve got Robbie holed up in the Blue Club. No one else is getting to him. That other crowd you’re worried about? They won’t find him,” Hughes assured her.

Emma felt a wave of relief. “Thank you, Mr. Hughes,” she said. Her voice was so sexy that Hughes couldn’t control himself at all.

He stepped closer. “I don’t need your money, nor your thanks.”

Emma’s eyes widened slightly as she looked up at him. Hughes was all pale skin. His careless blonde hair fell just so, giving him a roguish charm. His nose was sharp. His features were chiseled.

He leaned in closer, catching her scent of jasmine. “If I’m not mistaken, the people after Robbie this afternoon were Penelope’s goons, right? You’re with the other team, aren’t you?”

Emma didn’t bother to hide the truth. “My boss is Allison,” she admitted.

“Allison…” Hughes rolled the name around in his mind. It sounded vaguely familiar. Maybe a celeb or something; he didn’t keep up with the news, but he was sure he’d heard it recently.

“I spent all afternoon tracking down Robbie, then shelled out a cool three hundred grand to buy him from Darian. Now, I’ve blocked Penelope’s people from getting to him. So, tell me, how do you plan to thank me?”

Emma wasn’t some naive little girl. “What do you want in return?” she asked, knowing the score.

Hughes locked eyes with her. “When a guy does a favor for a lady, what do you think he wants in return?”
