Chapter 26
Chapter 26
Kamilla hollered at the woman about to enter the house, “Hey, Penelope, who said you could come here?”
Whether it was because she was too far away to hear or for some other reason, Allison didn’t respond and just followed Zoey into the Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
living room.
Kamilla’s fury ignited instantly due to Allison’s disregard. She strode over and yanked Allison’s arm. However, she used so much force that she missed the arm but tore Allison’s delicate dress instead.
This scene dumbfounded both Kamilla and Allison.
Zoey immediately panicked, “Ms. Flanagan… you…you’re okay, right?”
Kamilla quickly regained her composure, and pretending to be angry, she said, “You ignored me on purpose, you brought this on yourself!”
“Kamilla!”
Suddenly, Lucian’s icy voice came from the stairs. He glanced at Allison’s disheveled appearance, and his face grew more serious, “Apologize!”
“Why should I apologize? It’s clearly her fault; why should I apologize?” Kamilla stomped her foot in anger, shot Allison a dirty look, and then ran back to her room.
Lucian walked over to Allison, explaining, “Kamilla has been spoiled since she was little. She’s not a bad person; don’t take it to heart.”
Allison could tell that Lucian truly adored his sister.
She chuckled, her tone slightly mocking, “It’s okay. I stole her beloved brother, it’s normal for her to be angry”
Lucian was taken aback by her words. “Penelope” had always been careful around him. This was the first time he had seen her smile so freely, and it inexplicably warmed his heart.
Allison didn’t notice this at all. She looked down at the tear in her dress, looking somewhat distressed, “Will it be rude to meet Grandpa like this?”
Lucian took her hand and led her upstairs, “Come with me.”
He took her to his room, pulled out a pale yellow dress from his closet, and said expressionlessly, “Change into this; I’ll wait outside.”
Allison was stunned. The dress was brand new and the tag hadn’t even been removed. It had green decorations on the hem, looked fresh and beautiful, and obviously wasn’t cheap.
But what surprised her was, why would Lucian have a woman’s dress in his room?
Perhaps… it was left behind by Penelope?
Thinking of this, a hint of loss that she didn’t even notice herself flickered in her eyes.
After changing. Allison opened the door. The man who had his back to her turned around, and the moment he saw Allison, he was stunned.
The girl had two green straps on her shoulders; her waist was slender, and from the back, the pale yellow dress made her look as bright as a butterfly.
He suppressed his astonishment, walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist, and couldn’t help but plant a gentle kiss on her lips, “Penelope, you look really good in this dress.”
Allison was stunned. Ignoring the name he called, she asked him softly, “Do I really look good?”
His gaze was very serious, “Yes.”
“Let’s go, Grandpa is waiting for us.” He led her downstairs with his arm around her.
As he turned around, Lucian’s eyes seemed deep and mysterious, and his mind was filled with the memory of a little girl in a pale yellow dress. The girl was laughing happily, running, and turning around to call him, “Lucian…”
