The Billionaire’s Games (The Billionaire’s Obsession 2)

Chapter 34-Finding Happiness(2)

Snuggling with Evan on his living room couch, I turned my face away when he tried to kiss me. Teasing him, wanting to make him work for it. He placed his hand on my cheek and tilted my head toward him, leaning in to kiss me. Giving him what he wanted I kissed him back, smiling when he nipped on my lower lip, teasing me this time.

His hand trailed down my side, the soft touch making my body shudder. He felt it, taking the opportunity to push me down the couch and hover over me, not giving me space or the chance to run away from him. He wanted to talk about it, yet I didn’t have the courage to talk to him about what haunted my mind for the last couple of days. I feared his reaction, not wanting to ruin things between us. Things were good.

“I’ve not been evading you.”

His lips pressed against my throat, making me bite my lower lip to keep myself from making any sound. I gripped onto his shirt, wrinkling the pristine white dress shirt. By the looks of it, Evan didn’t care.

“Liar.”

I closed my eyes focusing on the hot trail of kisses he left along my throat, trying to coax me into speaking up, telling him the truth.

“Just tell me.” He whispered.

I loosened my grip on his shirt and gently pressed my palms against his firm chest instead, feeling his heart beating beneath my palm. It was calm and not matching my own heartbeat at all. He knew what he wanted and he wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted. Evan being that determined turned me on. I wondered if there was anything about him which didn’t turn me on, because so far nothing about him had the opposite effect on me.

“It’s not important.”

He pulled away from me to look into my eyes and cupped my face instead, “It is important considering I haven’t seen you in a while. I basically had to beg you to come over tonight.”

“I was busy.”

“Liar.”

I looked away from him, not being able to look him in the eyes as I told him what was on my mind the entire time I’ve been by myself, not wanting to meet up with him.

“Do you want to have kids with me?”

“Eventually, yes.”

I didn’t think he’d respond that quickly or firmly for that matter.

“I’ve been wondering if I’d make a good mother, but so far I can’t think of any positive points about myself which would indicate that a child would be happy in my care. That I would be able to raise them properly, giving them everything they need.”

Evan pulled away from me, grabbing onto my wrist and pulled me up to sit straight as well. He pulled me to him, letting me snuggle into his side while he wrapped his arms around me. He didn’t think I was crazy nor did he pull away from me because I had those kinds of thoughts. I was an idiot for not speaking up to him sooner. He would have calmed my chaotic mind down for sure.

“Emily and Nick didn’t plan to have Matthew, that just happened.” He told me, “But now that he’s here they can’t imagine their life without him. Neither one of them had any experience and they’re probably making a few mistakes. But what they’re doing right is handling him with care, giving him the love he deserves.” He tightened his grip on me as his voice trailed off, “To a child a parents’ love is everything, material things don’t matter.”

Something in his voice alarmed me. I had a feeling what he was telling me had a deeper meaning, the thing was he didn’t continue on the subject. Instead, he kissed my temple, holding me close to him as if he needed my warmth to comfort him. Not asking questions, because I didn’t know where his mind was at I wrapped my arms around him instead. Holding him because I felt like he needed it.

“Evan, can I talk to you for a second?”

“Jesus, you scared me.” Evan pulled away from me and turned to look at his smirking sister, “What do you want to talk about?”

Priscilla took a seat on the couch and placed her hands in her lap, lacing her fingers together while she lowered her gaze, not being able to look her brother in the face. I feared for the worst, thinking something bad happened to the girl. Instead, she told him something which surprised both of us.

“Could you talk to Nick about letting me work for him? I mean he has so many projects going on, I’m sure he can find me a job at one of his properties.”

“Do you need money?” Evan asked, leaning forward, trying to look his sister in the eyes, “Because all you need to do is ask, I can-”

“It isn’t about the money.” She told him, interrupting him midsentence, “I’m thinking about settling. Finding myself a place in the city and sticking around for a while.”

Evan reached for my hand and gripped it tightly in his, “You want to stay?”

She looked up meeting his gaze, “Are you dissatisfied with that?”

“Of course not!” He told her quickly, “I’m actually happy to hear you say that.” He admitted to her, letting go of my hand and taking a seat beside his sister instead, pulling her to him while he hugged her, “It’s all I ever wanted, having my sister around again.”

She buried her face in his chest and let him hug her, “You should have told me.” She whispered to him.

Giving them a moment to themselves, I headed to the kitchen and made myself of cup coffee. Once the beverage was done and had plenty of milk and sugar in it I settled in Evan’s bedroom, deciding I was going to stay the night. Without Evan having an actual conversation with his sister Priscilla decided to stay in New York. I had a feeling seeing how happy Emily and Nick were and spending time with Matthew changed her mind. She wanted all that in her life. I was on the same page as Priscilla. I wanted all of that too.
