The Billionaire’s Bargain Bride

Chapter 42

Tensions

SADIE

The trip home was the most excruciating and awkward I had. No one had tried to break the silence. I kept my mouth shut as well. I didn’t want to cause more anger to Cenric than I already had. I could also feel that he was about to erupt like a dormant volcano.

What kept me thinking was how to deal if he would do what I felt I deserved. Even if he would cut my internet privilege again, I would gladly accept his retribution. But I did what I thought would help us, and I had no regrets.

The silence was killing me. I could even hear my own heartbeat. Cenric’s eyes were on his phone, and he was typing the entire time, but I didn’t miss the way his jaw tensed.

Beck and Devin noticed the tension, but they didn’t say anything. Beck turned on the Podcast instead—the topic was about the kids who were the casualties in a war.

I managed to divert my tension as I listened with him. I stole glances at my husband once in a while. I wondered what was in his head.

He ran a billion-dollar empire, and I knew there was always a threat, but it happened the threat just came from the brother of his wife. How did I think people react to that if Jasper was successful. Cenric almost lost the game, they worked hard for months, and he never dragged me into it. He hadn’t blamed me. Yet.

I closed my eyes when it started to water. I was grateful to Cenric—God knew I was. He gave me this second chance, and I blew it in his face.

Since my father threw my mother out of our lives, I’d never been this content. And Cenric never demanded anything from me. All he wanted was for me to be safe. This man had nothing but kind, considerate, and thoughtful.

When we finally arrived at the house, Linden looked at us, confused. Beck managed to give him a cue before Linden could press him.

I followed my husband climbing up into our room. When he hadn’t said a thing, I dropped my bag into the couch and held his arm.

He turned to me, meeting my gaze. All I saw was pain, a kind of pain that I’d never seen before. It taunted me. He was hurting, and here I was, thinking everything was okay.

“Just say it.” I swallowed hard. “Just say—” I held my thought because honestly, it would hurt me the most if he said okay, sure, good, great, that’s what I’ve been meaning to say. I just don’t want you to think that I didn’t try my best those kinds of crap. “Just say you want me to move out.” I nodded. “And I will.”

“Why?” One word that made me more confused.

“I went against your will. I didn’t consult you or tell you before I made that stupid decision to meet my brother. I just wanted to help. I saw how those kids were so terrified, and I’m sure Zhuri as well. I wanted to put an end to it. I know if I apologize to you right now, it would mean nothing to you anymore, but I still will do it. I’m so sorry I should—”

He stopped me with a kiss, a kind of kiss that weakened my knees—it made my heart gallop. It was a kiss that gave me hope that everything was going to be okay.

He broke the kiss and pressed his lips against my forehead before he squeezed me into a hug. “That was reckless, yes. And I was more scared of not seeing you again. I was scared, that’s why I always told you not to do things rush. I trust you, and I believe in your ability to handle things. But I don’t believe and trust myself enough. I should haven’t doubted you.”

“I was just afraid that you’d say no.”

“I probably would. I was so scared that you might get hurt or he would take you away from me, Sadie. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Did I hear it right? My jaw dropped with a thud. My heart stopped for a second, and I held my breath for as long as I could. I was gripping into his shirt as I shut my eyes close to making sure I wasn’t dreaming that what I heard was true—that this was real—whatever cosmic kind of fate we had.

I finally let go of a shuddering breath and my grips against his shirt. I looked up to meet his eyes. “You’re not mad at me?”

He narrowed. “Mad? Try saying raging, perilous, lunatic. Of course, I was fucking mad!”

I swallowed hard, and he was still glaring at me.

“Let me guess, the next thing you’d say, what were you thinking? Are you out of your fucking mind?” I mimicked his voice.

“I don’t sound like that.” He pouted, and I thought it was cute for the big baddest Wollf.

“Really? I thought you sounded just like that.”

He held my hand. “Come.” He took a seat on the couch. I sat on her lap. “I was scared in tours. I guess that’s made us human—to be scared. I felt worse the moment you were at my back, and then, suddenly, you were gone.” He pressed his face against my cleavage. “I couldn’t afford to lose you.”

“I know. I worth twenty-five million dollars.” I ran my finger against his thick hair.

“You are priceless to me, babe. You’re more than that twenty-five million dollars. And I hope you stop saying that.”

I pouted as I cupped his face, forcing him to look at me. “Why, big guy, are you gonna punish me?”

“You’d enjoy my kind of punishment, babe. So I wouldn’t do that.” He smirked. “Just don’t do that to me again. I was actually planning on punishing you, maybe fucking you but won’t let you come. How about that? But when I heard how you defend me, how you stood up against him, I think you just gave me a hard-on my zipper almost gave up.”

“Hmm.” I traced his lips with my thumb. It was unbelievably soft and firm. “Is it always everything about your dick now, huh?”

He looked amused. His eyes sparkled. “You like it a lot.”

I bit my bottom lip. His gaze dropped, and eyes darkened. I started feeling his cock growing hard against my butt. “I do. But you are pissed. So we call it a night.” I rose from his lap, ignoring the ache on my clit.

“Really? I know you are wet, babe.”

I turned around, bent over, my palms pressed against the armrest. His gaze focused on my boobs. “Even if I am, I know just how to find a relief and dull the ache.”

“So, you don’t want me anymore?”

“I didn’t say that. But for now, I’m okay with my finger.” I walked away, swaying my hips a little because I could feel his scalding gaze against my ass. I entered my bathroom, stripped off my clothes, and went to shower.

A moment later, I was under the spray, and I felt someone just join me. I grabbed the bottle of shower gel and offered it to him. “Care to help?”

He chuckled and took it from me. “More than help if you would ask nicely.” He started lathering the gel on my shoulder, down to my back. Then both his palms, he rubbed my ass in a circular motion and squeezed it a little. I knew what he was doing. “It’s really one fine ass.”

“Are you still applying soap, Cenric?”

“I’m very thorough, babe. You should know by now.” His hands traveled down my legs. He must have knelt.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

I squeezed my eyes shut when my skin responded against his touch. The way he paid attention and ran his fingers, he knew what he was doing to warm me up.

I braced my palm against the wall. My body voluntarily followed our silent command. I bent over. In an instant, I cried out at the first touch of his tongue against my ass.
