The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 925

A flash of Leila crossed Brittany’s mind, but then she thought better of it. After all, there were plenty of people in the Lynette family who didn’t like her.

“Keep digging.”

She hung up the phone and stepped out of the bedroom.

Isaac was buried in paperwork, gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, the very picture of a gentleman rogue.

Brittany approached him. “Not done yet?”

Isaac massaged his temples. “Give me half an hour.”

He reached out and pulled Brittany into his arms, planting a kiss on her cheek. “What’s up, missed me?”

Brittany settled into his embrace, a familiar place, her hands clasping around his neck. “Didn’t you mention that the little royal princess was there today?”

“Dominic said she left early.” Isaac hadn’t expected her to bring up Ivy, sensing a hint of jealousy. “Still jealous?”

Brittany tugged at his shirt. “Can’t I be?”

Of course, she could.

“Mrs. Salter can be jealous all she wants, but no getting mad at me.”

Those photos had been squashed, taking considerable effort. After all, this was Craneville, not Imperial City.

Brittany leaned into him, her thoughts turning to Daniel, and her head began to ache. “Daniel refuses to stay in Imperial City; he wants to come to Craneville…”

“It’s not impossible; we can’t go back for a while anyway.”

Daniel was feeling insecure.

Lately, he’d been adamant about coming to Craneville, and Brittany couldn’t calm him down.

After discussing it, they arranged a private jet to bring Daniel and Emily to Craneville. The day Daniel arrived coincided with the welcome banquet for Brittany.

Isaac was supposed to be with her, but after the long journey, Daniel had come down with a fever.

With the welcome feast just ahead and Brittany being the guest of honor, she couldn’t miss it.

Isaac decided to stay at home with Daniel, allowing Brittany to attend the dinner.

Before she left, Brittany kissed her son’s fever-flushed cheek. “Sweetheart, stay at home and be good. Mommy will be back soon.”

Daniel, particularly clingy when sick, desperately didn’t want Brittany to go.

Brittany’s heart ached. “Zakky, should I skip the welcome banquet?”

“No. The Lynette family holds you in high esteem; if you don’t go, it could cause gossip. Daniel’s got me, and the doctor is on call; don’t worry.” Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Understanding, Daniel let go of her hand. “Mommy, I’ll wait for you at home.”

Despite her reluctance, Brittany had no choice but to leave.

The butler from the Lynette family was waiting outside.

Brittany donned a couture gown, radiating elegance and beauty, causing even the experienced butler to gaze at her in awe.

Snapping back to reality, the butler opened the car door. “Miss, please.”

Brittany climbed in. “Tell Mr. Lynette to cut any unnecessary parts; I can only spare an hour.”

Nothing was more important than her son’s health.

“Understood.” The butler joined her, and the sleek black car sped towards the Lynette Manor.

Upon arriving, the scene was already brimming with guests. The moment Brittany stepped out of the car, she could feel countless eyes on her.

Instantly, discussions began.

“Is this the Lynette’s daughter?”

“She’s quite the looker. I wonder where she grew up and if she’s got the kitchen skills like Miss Saskia!”

“Isn’t that the founder of Bri-jeweled Studio, Brittany?” A socialite recognized her. “So she’s the Lynette daughter!”

“I’ve heard that Brittany is very capable. In just a few years, she’s made Bri-jeweled Studio such a success.”

“Of course. Remember the jewels Mrs. Hartman commissioned from her, worn at the state dinner!”

Yuri, who had been waiting, took Brittany’s hand and announced to the world, “Ladies and gentlemen, the lady beside me is my daughter Brittany, the one true heir of my life.”
