The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 913

“He just can’t get over Juliana!” Leila’s eyes were tinged with red as she complained. “What does she have that I don’t? Why does he have to humiliate me like this?”

She was born with everything – looks, grace, charm. How could she be so scorned?

At the mention of Juliana, a strange look crossed Saskia’s eyes.

When Yuri announced he wanted a divorce, it caught Brittany off guard, but then it hit her it was his life, his marriage, none of her business.

After ending a video call with Daniel, Brittany called Isaac.

He must have just stepped out of the shower, draped in a bathrobe. “How was your evening with the Lynettes?”

Brittany laid out the night’s events on the table, wearily massaging her temples. “But honestly, I just want to get back to Imperial City.”

The Lynette family was alien to her. She could clearly sense that aside from Yuri, no one in the Lynette family welcomed her.

No surprise there.

Even though she was Yuri’s only daughter, he had never married her mother Julie, which, in a way, made Brittany the illegitimate child.

One more person meant one more claimant to the family fortune. Once money entered the picture, affection became worthless.

“I’ve been in touch with the Russells.”

According to the Russell’s account, when Julie returned to Imperial City, she did mention having a boyfriend back in Craneville. However, Julie was trapped in Imperial City for an entire month, caring for her ailing grandmother without ever leaving her side.

Her grandmother meant the world to Julie. To bring joy to the old lady, she proposed marriage herself. And she chose Robert.

“To lift the spirits?”

“Yes, but sadly, the old lady passed away right after their wedding.” Isaac’s knowledge of the Russell family was limited.

Julie had been gone for years, and digging up a thirty-year-old story was no easy task.

Brittany knew it was going to be difficult to find the truth.

*Tunderstand. I’ll tell the Lynettes tomorrow that I want to leave.”

She couldn’t stand the Lynette family, not for a second longer.

“Alright.”

After discussing serious matters, the couple indulged in an hour of sweet nothings before Brittany reluctantly ended the call and went to bed.

She always had trouble sleeping in strange beds, tossing and turning all night. C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

The next morning, Brittany was woken by a maid.

After freshening up, she descended the stairs to find the dining room filled with people seated in order of seniority.

Everyone was sitting properly, faces stern.

Brittany couldn’t shake the feeling of formality in the air. “Sorry, I overslept.”

Yuri shook his head. “Have a seat.”

Brittany sat down next to Saskia, who poured her a glass of milk. She thanked her and took a sip.

“Did you sleep well last night?”

“Very well,” Brittany lied, sipping her milk. “Mr. Lynette, I’d like to go home.”

Yuri’s expression shifted slightly. “You are home.”

“I mean my own home,” Brittany continued, noticing Yuri’s discomfort with the topic but persisting nonetheless. “I have a place in Bay Community. I’d like to return to my own house.”

She paused, “Everything happened so suddenly, I need some time to adjust.”

Suddenly gaining a father, anyone would need time to come to terms with it.

Yuri’s intense gaze made Brittany’s scalp tingle.

“Alright,” Yuri relented.

Brittany breathed a sigh of relief, her smile warming. “Thank you.”

Yuri gestured, and a lawyer from behind handed Brittany a stack of documents.

“Miss, this is a welcome gift from Mr. Lynette, including real estate, funds, shares in the company, etc. Please sign here.”
