Chapter 906
Brittany had agreed to meet because she wanted to convince the Lynettes to back off from the acquisition of Bri-jeweled Studio.
Ysabel mentioned how the Lynettes had renewed their interest in the company, seemingly determined to take it over.
“Mr. Lynette, I don’t want anything in return. I just wish that your family would drop the pursuit of Bri- jeweled Studio.”;
Holden was surprised to hear Brittany had ties with Bri-jeweled Studio. “Ms. Dustin, you and Bri- jeweled Studio?”
“I’m one of the founders, but I’ve stepped away” Brittany confessed.
After pondering for a few seconds, Holden replied, “I’ll discuss this with my father, and I’ll do my best.”
With Holden’s promise, Brittany offered a faint smile. “Thank you.”
Holden insisted on treating them to dinner, and the three of them enjoyed a hearty meal- together.
After dinner, Holden received a call and bid them farewell before taking off.
Watching his retreating figure, Brittany exhaled a sigh of relief. “Fate.”
Isaac poured her a cup of water. “Weren’t you saying you wanted to visit your grandmother?”
Katelin Bishop had been living in Craneville for years, and they had been in the town for a while without paying a visit.
Feeling inspired, Brittany decided to take Isaac straight to Katelin’s place that very day.
Before leaving, Isaac stopped by a large import grocery store to pick up an assortment of gifts.
This was the first time he was going to meet her as a grandson-in-law, and he was nervous.
Brittany noticed his nerves and chuckled softly. “What are you afraid of? Grandma watched you grow up; she won’t give you a hard time.”
“It’s not the same.”
The roles had changed.
Brittany smiled soothingly. “Don’t worry. Grandma really won’t blame you for what happened five years ago.”.
She knew Isaac was still troubled by the events of five years past, feeling that he had failed to protect her.
Isaac’s thoughts stirred. “Bri, I’ll prove to Grandma that I’ll take good care of you.”
Brittany reached up to his neck and planted a kiss on his jawline. “I know.”
Isaac, unconcerned about the bystanders, held her closer and deepened the kiss, drawing several curious glances.
Brittany’s face turned crimson with embarrassment.
Yet Isaac, unabashed, held up his ring-adorned hand as if to say, “What’s the look for? We’re legally married!”
After leaving the grocery store, they headed straight for the Bishop residence.
Upon arrival, Katelin, having heard of their coming, was already waiting outside.
“Bri.”
“Grandma.”
Brittany got out of the car, hurried forward, and embraced Katelin.
“My dear child.”
Having not seen Brittany for over half a year, Katelin’s eyes reddened with longing.
Isaac followed suit, getting out of the car and presenting the gifts he had prepared to the housekeeper, before approaching and respectfully greeting his grandmother-in-law.
Katelin, aware of the struggles they had faced over the years, felt an added tenderness for Isaac.
“Come in,” she beckoned.
Once inside, Katelin fussed over Brittany and asked after Isaac.
When Grace had passed away, Katelin should have gone back to pay her respects, but she had been bedridden with a severe cold at the time, making it impossible to leave her bed, let alone travel abroad.
After nearly a month, she had finally recovered
With Brittany’s arrival, Katelin was overjoyed. “Stay here with me for the next few days, I’ve missed you,” she said.
Brittany readily agreed. “Of course.”
Holden sought out Yuri, hoping he would reconsider the acquisition of Bri-jeweled Studio.
Yuri was taken aback that his team was still pursuing the company.
“Let’s follow your lead on this,” Yuri said. “Katelin has been quite ill recently, and she and my father were close. Find a chance to visit her-it’s the right thing to do.”
“Understood.”
After Holden left, Yuri pulled a photograph from his drawer. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
If Brittany were there, she would instantly recognize the woman in the photo. It wasn’t just anyone-it was Julie Russell-Dustin, her biological mother!
