The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 9

Brittany Inunder’s aloofness was as cold as an iceberg, without my curiosity at all.

She wanted to meet him to celebrate something, but the words got stuck in her throat and she ended up not saying anything.

Isaac put his helpers aside and asked, “What?”

“Okay, it’s a jewelry company!”

Brittany saw his disinterest and decided not to continue. She tidied up her design drafts and retreated to her room.

Isaac furrowed his brows. Did he say something wrong? She seemed a bit upset…

The next morning, Brittany got up. After breakfast, she left without saying hello to Isaac.

Isaac, sitting at the dining table, also left after breakfast.

At the company, Brittany spent the whole day perfecting her design drafts and finally handed them to William, who was very pleased.

“I like your design drafts very much, but Mr. Turley is not easy to deal with this time. You have to be careful,” William said.

“I know,” Brittany replied.

At the company, she still called him “William.”

William smiled, checking his watch. “It’s getting late. Fancy dinner?”

He paused, “I heard Hannah is in town too. Let’s invite her tonight.”

Hannah had wanted to have dinner with William. Now, the three of them could go together. Brittany contacted Hannah, arranged the restaurant, and then the two left the company together.

Sydney saw this and was green with envy. Brittany was trying to seduce William again!

The restaurant they arranged to meet at was a place they often went to during university. Hannah arrived, panting. She took the tea in front of Brittany, gulped it down, and after catching her breath, complained, “My boss is really too much. My workload has doubled recently!”

She didn’t even have time to chit-chat.

Brittany chuckled and poured her a cup of coffee. “Take it slow.”

Hannah greeted William with a smile. “William, long time no see. You’ve become more handsome.”

The three of them chatted as they ate. William was tactful and maintained a good pace in the conversation. Hannah propped her chin on her hand, thinking that it would be great if Brittany married William. He was from a magnificent family, had a good personality, and knew Brittany well.

Unfortunately, Brittany married a man she barely knew!

After seeing off William, Hannah sighed. “Brittany, how great it would be if you had married William.”

Brittany looked shocked. “Doesn't William have someone he likes?”

Hannah was speechless. “Wasn’t the person he liked you?”

“Don’t you want to know who William likes?” Hannah asked.

Brittany shook her head. It was her senior’s private matter, and she didn’t care.

Hannah swallowed the words she was about to say. “Never mind. Let’s go home.”

Back at the apartment, Isaac hadn’t returned. She thought about texting him but then decided against it.

They were only in a fake marriage. So, she asked William about Wesley instead and planned to meet him the next day.

Isaac hadn’t returned by the time she went to bed.

When he woke up the next morning, he was gone. Brittany was a bit worried, but she let it go. She took her design drafts and headed for Turley Corporation.

The receptionist stopped her and looked at her suspiciously, “Who are you looking for?”

“Hello, I’m Brittany from VelvetGlow Jewellery. I’m here to discuss design drafts with Mr. Turley.”

“Do you have an appointment?”

“No, how long will it take if I make an appointment now?”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“About two hours.”

Brittany nodded. “Then could you please make an appointment for me?”

The receptionist pointed to the waiting room, “Please wait there.”

Brittany turned and left.

The receptionist laughed, “What’s wrong with VelvetGlow Jewellery? Any designer dares to approach Mr. Turley?”

“Don’t they know their place!”

At Turley Corporation, Isaac and Wesley reached a preliminary agreement on the cooperation.

“I heard you got married,” Wesley asked.

Isaac was puzzled, “How did you know?”

“My sister told me a while ago.”

Wesley was quite curious about Isaac’s marriage. “Who’s your wife? Do we know her? Can you bring her out to meet us?”

“No need,” Isaac had no plans to bring Brittany into the public.

Wesley shrugged helplessly.

The receptionist signaled Brittany that she could go up. Immediately, she took her designs and entered the elevator.

The elevator on the left was descending from the 23rd floor, while the one on the right was ascending from the basement. One up, one down.

The elevator doors opened. Brittany entered the elevator, and at the same moment, Isaac exited from the other one. His gaze swept over Brittany, seeming to recognize her, but the elevator doors closed.

He must have seen wrong. Isaac strode away quickly.

Brittany was checking her documents and didn’t notice him passing by.

She arrived on the 23rd floor and met Wesley without any issues.

“Mr. Turley, hello, I’m Brittany.”

Wesley seemed to recall something upon hearing her name. “Are you the daughter of the Dustin family?”

Brittany felt a bit awkward. “Yes.”

Wesley looked at her curiously and took her design drafts.

Brittany’s designs were indeed up to his expectations.

Wesley began to scrutinize them.

He was more curious as to why Brittany was working at VelvetGlow Jewellery.

“I remember you used to always help Patricia with her designs.”

“I fell out with the Dustin family. Now I’m working at VelvetGlow Jewellery.”

Brittany looked at Wesley uneasily, then asked, “Mr. Turley, are you satisfied with my designs?”

Wesley smiled, “They’re excellent.”

Just as Wesley was about to answer, his phone rang. He apologized and picked up the call. Whatever the person on the other end said, it made his face change slightly.

Brittany quickly picked up on this.

Sure enough, when Wesley hung up the phone, he said somewhat helplessly, “I’m sorry Ms. Dustin, I can’t use your design.”

It turned out that it was Robert who had called. He hated making Wesley choose. If Wesley used Brittany’s design, he could forget about working with the Dustin family again.

Wesley didn’t want to offend the Dustin family because of Brittany.

Knowing who had called, Brittany picked up her design and said goodbye.

Wesley squinted his eyes and watched her leave with interest, stroking his chin. What was the Dustin family thinking? Brittany was so talented but not valued, instead she was constantly hindered?

Back at VelvetGlow Jewellery, Brittany hadn’t been able to meet Wesley. Sydney walked over with a smug look, “Did you succeed?”

“Did you tell Patricia that I work at VelvetGlow Jewellery?”

Patricia and Sydney were good friends. As soon as she went to Turley Corporation, Robert called. Who else could it be but Sydney?

Sydney raised her eyebrows triumphantly, “So you didn’t succeed, guess you can leave VelvetGlow Jewellery now.”

Brittany didn’t want to leave.

“You didn’t specify a time frame, as long as I successfully complete this collaboration, I can stay.”

Brittany wasn’t going to give up. She had faced many difficulties before, and she was confident she could deal with Wesley!

Sydney just chuckled and walked away.

At that moment, William came out of the office and gathered everyone. “Important announcements.”

Everyone was curious.

“VelvetGlow Jewellery has been acquired by Grandeur Capital, we are currently in the transition phase, so brace yourselves.”

“The super-rich Grandeur Capital?”

“I heard the person in charge at NK is very strict, hard to please, are we going to be under control?”

Brittany sat there, stunned. She had just found a job, and now the company was being acquired? Could she still keep her job?

The excitement continued as William announced another important point: “Next Monday, Mr. Sabet, the person in charge of Grandeur Capital, will come for an inspection. Be prepared!”
