The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 869

Chapter 869

In the local daycare, everyone knew Daniel’s dad was Isaac Salter, a renowned and privileged

gentleman from the heart of the city. Isaac, born into privilege and blessed with remarkable talents, was

always courteous to the teachers when dropping off and picking up his son.

Hana, who came from a decent family herself, chose to work at the school to tap into better

opportunities. When a fellow teacher noticed her chatting with Isaac, she approached with a word of

caution.

“Hana, don’t get yourself into trouble. Mr. Salter is a married man, after all.”

Hana dismissed the concern with a wave of her hand. “They’re separated, haven’t remarried yet.”

As long as there wasn’t a reconciliation, Hana believed she had a shot. She was single, not lacking in

looks or background when compared to Brittany. Why shouldn’t she strive for her happiness?

The teacher shook her head. She had done her part in warning Hana. If the young woman wouldn’t

listen, there was nothing more she could do.

Riding in the sleek black car, Daniel piped up, “Daddy, do you think Ms. Hana is pretty?”

“Your mom is prettier,” Isaac responded, tossing the A4 sheet aside. “Don’t tell your mom that I spoke

with Ms. Hana.”

Brittany, for all her composed exterior, had a jealous streak. Isaac didn’t want to upset her. Daniel tilted

his chin up, “I like Ms. Hana. She’s nice and pretty. She gives me ice cream and cupcakes, and tells

me stories!”

Isaac chuckled softly. “Remember to say thank you if your teacher is good to you.”

“Okay.”

Once they arrived at the studio, Daniel sprinted ahead to find Brittany.

“Mommy…”

Upon hearing her son’s voice, Brittany softened visibly.

The business partner witnessing this transformation marveled at the power of maternal love.

Daniel, standing straight as a board as soon as he saw there was company, greeted, “Hello, sir.”

The client rose, “Ms. Dustin, I’ve got to run, let’s catch up another time.”

“Sure.”

After the secretary saw the client out, Daniel rushed to embrace Brittany. “Mommy, I missed you!”

Her son always knew how to charm her, and Brittany adored this about him. She pinched his cheek

playfully, “Didn’t we just see each other this morning?”

Daniel cuddled up to her, “But I love Mommy the most, a hundred times more than Ms. Hana!”

Brittany didn’t pay much attention to who Ms. Hana was, planting a kiss on his chin. “Where is Daddy?”

“Ms. Dustin, time to wrap up,” Isaac knocked on the office door, a reminder hanging in the air. “You’ve

been all about work lately. Remember, you’ve got a husband and a kid who need you too.”

Brittany blushed at the word ‘husband’. “Alright, let’s go.”

Isaac had made reservations at a steakhouse, Brittany’s favorite.

During dinner, Daniel clung to Brittany, much to Isaac’s chagrin.

“Daniel, come here.”

“No, I want to stay with Mommy.”

Unable to sway his son, Isaac looked to Brittany.

Used to the two vying for her attention, Brittany poured Isaac a glass of wine. “Come on, Daniel’s still

little. Just indulge him a bit.”

Isaac caught her hand, his thumb brushing over her palm in a silent plea for a different kind of

indulgence.

Brittany knew all too well what he implied. She tried to pull away, but Isaac’s grip tightened. “Ms.

Dustin, in business, there’s no room for loss.” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

With no other choice, Brittany nodded.

Isaac finally let go, the corners of his eyes crinkling with amusement, much to Daniel’s annoyance.

“Daddy, stop looking at Mommy like that!”

Hmph! Daddy always clung to Mommy!

Isaac slid a glass of milk towards Daniel, his voice low, “Stay out of grown-up business!”

Though slightly intimidated, Daniel took the glass, his eyes darting.

“Mommy, do you know who Daddy talked to this afternoon?”

Brittany, still busy with her tablet, replied absently, “Who?”

“Daniel!” Isaac’s voice carried a warning.

“Daddy, kids’ business is none of your business!” Daniel mimicked Isaac’s tone.

Isaac was at a loss for words.

Brittany couldn’t help but laugh, “Alright, alright, that’s enough.”

Daniel grinned, victorious in his little rebellion.
