The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 866

Chapter 866

Brittany felt a pang of thirst after indulging in a late-night snack. In the wee hours, her stomach settled,

but her throat parched. She tiptoed downstairs to the kitchen to get some milk.

On her way back to her bedroom, the soft glow from the study caught her eye.

“Must be Grace forgetting to turn it off again,” she mumbled to herself, veering towards the study.

The soft-soled slippers made her steps virtually silent on the polished wooden floor.

At the study’s door, Brittany paused, hearing a low voice murmuring from within.

“You tell me, why’d you have to go so soon? Left me all alone here, still worrying about the grandkids.

Can’t join you just yet…

Brittany froze.

Grandma was still awake at this hour?

Realizing she shouldn’t eavesdrop, Brittany quickly retreated. Inside the study, Grace seemed caught

in a monologue, speaking to someone who wasn’t there.

“If I’d known things would come to this, I never would’ve invested in that research institute, let alone let

Zac take those risks. Thankfully, that girl’s been found. Once I settle these matters, I’ll come find you.”

Back in her room, Brittany’s return stirred Isaac. He reached out in bed for her, finding only cool sheets.

His eyes fluttered open just in time to see her silhouette against the milky light, a glass of milk in hand.

“Where did you go?” Isaac got out of bed, a frown of concern creasing his forehead. He felt the chill on Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

her as he pulled her into bed, wrapping the blanket snugly around them.

“I went to get some milk,” she explained.

Isaac sighed, relieved she hadn’t gone out into the night. “Drink up,” he urged gently. After finishing the

milk and giving Isaac a reassuring kiss, Brittany whispered, “Sleep now.” They sank into a peaceful

slumber until morning’s light beckoned them awake.

After freshening up, Brittany descended the staircase to find Grace undergoing her daily health check

by the doctor. Exchanging greetings, she then sat down for a hearty breakfast with Isaac before they

headed to Joie’s apartment.

Upon entering, a metallic scent tinged the air. Joie was sprawled on the floor, her face marred with

fresh scratches, a picture of utter disarray.

“Brittany!” Joie’s eyes lit with a mix of fear and anger upon seeing her.

“Zakky, I want a word with her. Alone.” Brittany couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction seeing Joie

in such a state.

“Have a good chat, and don’t hurt yourself,” he said before walking away.

Joie, recalling their last physical altercation, pleaded, “Bro Isaac, don’t go, please..”

What would she do if Brittany attacked her again?

Isaac left without a backward glance.

Joie watched the door close with dread, too late to curse Isaac’s cold heart. She curled up, inching

closer to the wall in a futile attempt at safety.

“Brittany, I warn you-if you dare lay a finger on me, I won’t let you off easy!”

Brittany, unfazed, advanced on her.

With nowhere to retreat, Joie’s face went ashen.

“Joie,” Brittany’s voice was spectral, sending chills down Joie’s spine. “You…”

In a swift move, Brittany gripped Joie’s shirt, ignoring her struggles, and unbuttoned it to reveal the

bandage around her waist. The smell of iodine and dried blood was pungent but not unexpected.

Joie shivered. “Brittany, don’t mess with me!”

“Mess with you?” Brittany ripped off the bandage, provoking a shrill scream from Joie.

Beneath the bandage, Joie’s skin was unblemished, without a trace of a surgical incision.

“Joie, didn’t you have an organ transplant for Grandma? Where’s the scar?”

“Let me go.”

Joie’s secret was out, and her face turned ghostly pale. She kept struggling, whisper was lethal, “You

tried to kill Daniel before. What do you think Zakky w finds out?”

A shiver of pure dread coursed through Joie.

Brittany knows everything!
