The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 841

Chapter 841

At three o’clock in the afternoon, all the formalities were completed,

Joie, her once long hair now cropped to a pixie cut, making her look even more worn, was escorted by

the police to the hospital.

However, she was in an excellent mood. She hadn’t imagined for a second that the tables. would turn.

Now, with Isaac needing something from her, she had enough leverage to entangle Isaac in her current

predicament.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Joie spotted Isaac standing in the corridor, as dashing as ever.

Such a shame, she thought, that behind his looks was a man capable of such ruthlessness.

“Bro Isaac,” Joie called out as she approached him, maintaining her usual sweet and demure

demeanor.

Once upon a time, Isaac had treated Joie like his own sister, but after discovering her misdeeds, he

couldn’t muster any affection for her. Yet, fate had a twisted sense of humor.

“You know the situation. If you’re willing to donate a kidney, I’ll meet any condition you set, Isaac

proposed with a somber look.

Joie adjusted a lock of hair behind her ear, “Including marrying me?”

Isaac’s gaze darkened, “Clearly, that’s impossible.”

Joie was undeterred by his refusal. “I’m not in a condition to donate a kidney right now.”

“I’ll apply for your house arrest, on the condition that you don’t leave Imperial City,” Isaac compromised.

“Additionally, I’ll ensure you live a life of luxury for the rest of your days.”

The offer was tempting for Joie, who had suffered greatly in prison and dreamed of escaping that hell.

But she was not ready to settle.

“What else do you want?” Isaac pressed, his patience thinning.

Licking her lips in anticipation, Joie said, “I want to return to show business.”

“The scandal has ruined any chance of that,” Isaac said, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I remember

you had an interest in studying. I can send you abroad to the best schools, for the best programs.”

“Fine, I accept,” Joie agreed.

After undergoing a comprehensive medical examination and being confirmed as a suitable donor, Joie

was informed she was malnourished and needed to be in better health before the transplant could

proceed.

Isaac had Joie transferred to a private clinic under strict supervision.

To ensure Joie’s house arrest, Isaac went to great lengths, even negotiating personally with the police

to secure the arrangement.

Joie’s change to house arrest was kept under wraps, but it still caused quite a stir. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

Brittany, hearing the news, chose not to stir the pot.

Grace’s health was the priority, and Joie wouldn’t make waves.

After a week of recuperation in the hospital, Joie was barely back in health, but Grace wasn’t yet fit for

surgery, so the operation was delayed.

As soon as a suitable kidney was found, Manuel rushed to the hospital.

Seeing Grace awake, he was overcome with emotion. “Mom, I always knew good people have good

fortune. You were bound to get better.”

“Finding a suitable kidney is just the beginning,” said Grace, propped up in bed. She knew all too well

why Manuel hadn’t shown his face until now, and why he’d come running as soon as a donor was

found.

She responded coolly, much to Manuel’s dissatisfaction.

“Mom, has someone been talking to you about me? Why are you so cold?” Manuel’s guilt was

palpable. “I wanted to be tested for compatibility too, but I’m old now, and Marcel, with his frail health,

couldn’t possibly take such a risk. I know you blame me, but I care about your health too.”

“Enough,” Grace’s head ached from his words. “I know you too well to expect you to donate a kidney. I

just hope you’ll stay away from me and stop causing trouble.”

Manuel grew angry, “Then what do you want me to do? Give you a kidney? I can’t give up my life for

you!”
