The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 1217

Ronald chuckled softly, "It doesn't matter to others whether I'm around or not, but Kari can't manage without me. She's my wife, and since I made her my wife, I'll never let her suffer the slightest injustice." Caleb was ecstatic, "You said it yourself, buddy. If you leave the Malones today, don't even think about stepping foot into our place again, even if you come crawling back!"

The rest of the Malones had long been fed up with Ronald and quickly joined in.

"Yeah, don't come back crying to us later!"

"Thinking we can't do without you? You're just a bastard, after all, getting way ahead of yourself."

"Dad, let him go. We shouldn't let him stay in the Malone family."

"You reject the woman we picked out for you, insisting on marrying someone who's nothing, thinking love is all you need. Well, if you regret it later, tough luck!"

Old Mr. Malone hadn't intended to kick Ronald out; he just wanted Ronald to back down on his own.

But who could have thought he'd actually ask to leave?

In that case, there was no point in forcing him to stay.

"Ronald, since you say you want to leave the Malones, you can't take anything with you. Not a single thing."

"Right! Return all the money and shares!"

Ronald couldn't care less about what the Malones had given him and readily agreed.

The old man summoned the lawyer to draft a disownment agreement.

According to the agreement, all assets under Ronald's name would be frozen.

Ronald glanced at the document, picked up the pen, and was about to sign. "Wait-"

The door to the Malones' was pushed open.

It was the fiancée Old Mr. Malone had arranged for him.

She was dressed to the nines, a look of displeasure in her eyes.

"Ronald, everyone knows about our engagement, and here you are, marrying another woman at the last minute. Did you ever consider what position that puts me in?"

"Exactly, what's wrong with my

daughter? A bastard like you should be grateful to marry into the Patels, and get you dare to humiliate us like this!"

"Ms. Patel, it's not what you think."

Ronald stood his ground, "I never agreed to our families' marriage arrangement from the start. I've always had someone I loved, and I've mentioned this to you before." en NovelDrama.Org

"But, the old man said—"

Ms. Patel felt deceived, "The news is already out, making me a laughingstock!"

Ronald was apologetic, "Ms. Patel, I'm sorry, but I never intended to marry you, nor did I wish to climb up to the Patels."

With that, Ronald signed the agreement.

Old Mr. Malone was fuming.

"Grandfather, thank you for everything over the years. If you need anything, feel free to call me."

Ronald had no interest in the Malones.

But he wasn't ungrateful; Old Mr. Malone had treated him well over the years. If there was ever a need, he would surely lend a hand.

"Heh," Caleb scoffed, "Now that you've left the Malones, what help could you possibly offer? Relying on that worthless girlfriend of yours?" Hearing him belittle Kari, Ronald's gaze turned frosty.

Caleb, usually so worldly, found himself intimidated by that look, frozen in place.

Ronald left with nothing and left with nothing.

His assistant was waiting for him outside.

"Mr. Malone, are you alright?"

The assistant had been with him for several years, knew him well, and was aware of his awkward position within the Malones.

Nominally a shining heir, but in

reality, the Malones treated him like

a pawn, exploiting his abilities and ever trying to control his marriage.

"I'm no longer a Malone heir. No need to call me Mr. Malone."

Ronald's tone was light and carefree.
