Isaac untied his apron and led Brittany to the staff room at the back of the cafe.

Brittany pulled out her tablet and handed over the spreadsheets to Isaac. With just a glance, Isaac pinpointed the problem.

He started a new spreadsheet. "Miss, these kinds of spreadsheets are mainly..."

Knowing his expertise in finance, Brittany was eager to learn from him.

As he began working on the spreadsheets, Brittany realized just how formidable a professional could be. He explained every type of report and discussed data accuracy in detail, swiftly resolving all of Brittany's issues in one go.

Brittany tried to focus on his words, but her eyes drifted to his lips, moving rhythmically as he spoke, irresistibly drawing her in.

Isaac noticed her distraction and set the tablet down. "Miss, what are you looking at?"

"You," Brittany blurted out, then her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

Isaac chuckled lightly, realizing she was admiring his face. "It seems you quite like my face."

"You might not believe me," Brittany struggled to stay composed. "When I first saw you, I felt like I knew you from somewhere."

"Miss, that's quite a cliché pickup line." Isaac handed the tablet back to her. "All set with the spreadsheets. If you have more questions, feel free to ask."

He stood up.

Brittany grabbed his hand impulsively. "Do you have a girlfriend?"

"What I mean is, do you have someone you like?" Brittany licked her lips nervously. "If not, can I pursue you?"

Isaac found this amusing.

After all these years, Brittany had come full circle, appearing before him without even remembering who he was!

"I have a family," he stated plainly.

Brittany quickly let go, apologizing profusely. No wonder he hadn't given her his contact information; he was already taken.

Embarrassed by her forwardness, she hastily left with her belongings.

Back at the financial department, the director suppressed his anger and, fearing he might have offended Brittany, summoned her. Brittany redid the spreadsheets and handed them to him with a humble attitude.

The director examined the

spreadsheets closely and asked Brittany if she had received

assistance from someone. Brittany honestly answered that a friend had helped her.

The director genuinely appreciated Brittany for her intelligence, capability, humble attitude, and strong work ethic. However, his strict demeanor was simply a reflection of his accustomed approach.

Later that afternoon, Brittany returned to the café, only to find Isaac gone.

She asked around, learning that he was only filling in temporarily. Besides knowing his nickname, Zac, nobody knew his real name.

Brittany showed no interest and outright refused.

Daniel, sensing her mood, followed her. "Mommy, are you unhappy?"

Brittany knelt down and hugged him. "Not at all."

As Daniel nestled against her, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent-it was the coffee his dad used to make!

"Mommy, did you meet someone today?"

Suddenly, it dawned on Daniel. Isaac had really come back. He always knew Daddy would return!
