Chapter 66
Chapter 66
" Hey darling! Hope you didn't wait for long? " Diana said as she hugged Carla before sliding into the chair beside her. Carla intentionally arrived before her to get herself settled mentally.
" Not at all" Carla shook her head vigorously and smiled.
" Good " Diana smiled back and called over the waiter who was nearby. She turned to Carla and frowned ever so slightly. She squinted her eyes and lacked at her closely, while staring at her figure.
" Wow, I must say this marital life suits you. Oh my, you're glowing " Diana commented.
Carla blushed " Really? "
"You know I wouldn't lie to you if it's not true, you're glowing more every day " Diana said again. " Aww thank you " Carla replied softly.
"You're welcome " Diana answered and turned in the direction she saw the waiter. She was probably wondering what was taking him so long, Carla thought. Luckily enough, the waiter was already making his way over to them. He was accompanied by a young waitress who was sashaying her way over to them too.
" What took you so long? " Diana asked but there was no malice in her voice.
"I'm sorry ma'am " The waiter apologized politely and handed them the menu
" Thanks, you can go, we'll call you when we're ready to order " She told the guy with a smile .
" Okay ma'am " He replied and walked away.
" So my dear, what's going on with you lately? " She asked curiously.
Carla smiled " Nothing much , we're just good "
"It's been a while since I saw Donald, I hope he is okay? " She asked pleasantly.
Diana smiled at widely " He's good dear, thank you "
"I was getting bored of him so I called to spend time with an interesting young lady " She added, beaming with smiles. Carla laughed " Did you just say Donald is boring?? "
" Of course, the old guy is boring and I felt I would die if I stay in that house ony more second " Diana replied nonchalantly and flipped her hair behind her ear. She really was full of life and energy, Carla thought with a smile.
She laughed harder " Come on Diana, Donald isn't boring! He's way far from it “ Carla insisted and laughed harder, her whole body shaking from the action
Diana scoffed " You think so? He’s my husband so I knew him more " She looked proud, a reaction that was far from what she said. Carla's eyes twinkled with mischief " The same husband you're saying bad things about "
"I know!" Diana exclaimed in a girlish sort of way.
" But you love him!" Carla fired back jokingly and they both ended up laughing.
" Of course I do!" Diana replied and blushed which led Carla to believe the old couple were still so much in love with each other.
" Let's talk about another interesting thing please " She said, wanting to change the subject already because she was blushing so hard that even Carla decided to take pity on her.
Carla laughed and humored her" So what should we talk about? " " Anything interesting of course, that's why it's called Girls’ night out, isn't it? " Diana said happily.
Carla nodded " Of course!" She exclaimed, sharing Diana's excitement.
Both were quiet, lost in their own world andthoughts until Diana =~ slammed her hands over the table, startling the three ladies who sat nearby but Diana didn't seenmto cate. ..
"You know what? Let's start this interesting conversation from somewhere, shall we? " She asked and didn't wait for a reply before she continued.
"You wanted to tell something, yeah? So let's start our Girls’ night from there! “ She said loudly.

"I can't express how happy you just made me feetwith this wonderful news " She Said and her voice broke down, which made Carla wondered for the third time if she was crying too~Why were they crying anyway? They should be happy, not terying.
"Are you crying? " Carla finally gave in to the urge and asked.
She felt Diana sniff" No... Of course not, I'm not crying, something flew into my eyes I guess " She lied but it was so obvious and glaring that she had been crying
" Come here " Carla said even though they were already hugging. Now, it was her turn to pat her on the back.
" Oh I'm so happy Carla, finally I get to see my grandchild before dying " She sniffed again.
Carla smiled, her own eyes were starting to fill up with tears too " It's okay “
"Yeah " Diana said and wiped away her tears that it was hard to Imagine she cried in the first place. They resumed their seats. "I assume you told Liam already " Diana said thoughtfully.
Carla nodded " Yeah I did"
" And what was his response? Of course he would be happy. it was what he always wanted " Diana answered her question, a soft smile still on her face.
"I really can't wait to see my grandchild! " She added with a feeling of enthusiasm.
" Can't wait to see my son or daughter too " Carla put in.
"You don't know the gender yet? " Diana asked curiously and Carla shook her head.
" No, not yet" She replied.
"I'm cool with either a boy or girl though " Diana said thoughtfully, unaware that the peaceful, contented smile was still on her face. "Yeah I think so too " Carla agreed with a smile.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
