Chapter 2015 A Mysterious Phone Call
Chapter 2015 A Mysterious Phone Call
When Melissa left the villa, she was trembling with rage. She was so enraged that she couldn't even
immediately start her car. She had to just sit there and try to calm herself down.
"That damn bitch! How dared she call me shameless! She is such a cunt!"
Melissa couldn't help muttering a curse on that bitch. When she finally regained her composure and
mental clarity, she started the car and sped away from that horrid place.
Inside the villa, Vicky looked at her red and swollen face in the mirror. Her gaze turned cold, which
inwardly thrilled her to see.
Her vicious, ice-cold eyes made her look like a serpent. She bit her lower lip and made up her mind.
"Melissa, you'll be sorry for what you have done!" Vicky spitefully muttered. She then took out her
phone and dialed a number.
When the call connected, Vicky told the other person everything that had happened today. Deep into
their conversation, Vicky even seemed to be receiving encouragement from the other person, and she
seemed somewhat delighted.
"Yes, I know," she said.
"Fine, let's meet in half an hour." She then nodded and ended the call. Her sullen expression smoothed
out after the conversation ended. She sat on the sofa, lost in thought.
Coming back to reality, she stood up, took her coat, and was ready to go out. Suddenly, seeing Stella in
the kitchen, a thought popped into her mind.
Vicky cast a glance at her, put down her coat, and approached Stella. She asked innocently, "Stella,
could you make a glass of mango juice for me?"
"Mango juice?" Stella repeated in surprise. She was surprised because there were no mangoes at
home.
"We don't have mangoes?" Vicky asked, understanding Stella's dilemma.
Stella nodded in embarrassment. Vicky smiled. "It's fine. I can wait, Stella. Could you go to the market
to buy some for me? Thanks." Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
"Okay, Ma'am. I'll buy some right now." Stella put down what she had been doing and immediately went
out.
As soon as Stella left, Vicky left as well. Vicky didn't want anyone seeing her actually leaving the place.
At a bar near the villa
The moment Vicky stepped into the venue, she was bombarded by a cacophony of earsplitting sounds.
She felt that she was going to become deaf at any moment. The harsh noise made her fretful and
stressed.
She glanced around the space and sat in a corner that had few people. She checked the time on her
phone. It was almost the agreed-upon time. 'He might arrive here anytime, ' she thought.
She ordered a cup of Saki. While she was sipping, her eyes kept searching around for the man she
was waiting for.
At that moment, a man with sunglasses appeared. He saw Vicky and approached her seat slowly. She
also saw him and waved him over to where she was sitting.
Soon enough, the man came and sat opposite her. They exchanged a stern glance of recognition.
"What's going on now? Has he replied yet?" Vicky asked anxiously, looking at the man in front of her as
if he would solve her problems.
The man cast a look at her and replied coldly, "He has agreed to meet you this time."
Vicky breathed a sigh of relief as she heard his answer. 'Thank God, this is going smoothly, ' she
thought.
"When will we meet?" she added.
"Wait for my notice," the man answered sternly.
"Could you just give me a hint? I don't have much time. I can't just wait forever!" Vicky complained
impatiently like a little girl.
The man frowned, displeased with Vicky's behavior. Even though Vicky couldn't see his eyes behind
the sunglasses, she could tell that he was a little irritated.
"Fine. I'll just wait," Vicky quickly added, hoping to appease him.
Without wasting any time, the man took his leave after a few words.
Vicky didn't leave immediately, but rather sat in the bar, deep in thought.
There were so many exciting men and women around her. All of them were dancing and shouting,
losing themselves in this fantasy world.
The crazy crowd and pop music was in stark contrast with Vicky's more sober outfit. She didn't seem to
belong here at all.
She was wearing a business suit. Normally people wouldn't go to a night club or bar like that.
Of course, she didn't choose to meet here. The man had said that it was the best place to go, so no
one would recognize them.
Even though it was a public place, a man and a woman near Vicky were fondling each other. Their
bodies were so close to each other that it was obvious they had forgotten where they were– as they got
lost in their pleasure. Apparently they were not a couple but were here only to pursue excitement.
All the other sounds were buried under the loud music. Vicky soon finished her drink and left.
She had to get back before Stella arrived. Even though Charles told her that Stella was just a servant
to take care of and help her, Vicky was well aware that she was also Charles' spy.
Just like Melissa, Charles had never trusted her. Neither of them ever really liked her.
At Dream Garden
Melissa sat on the sofa, full of anger. Noticing this, Nancy came over quietly and asked, "Ma'am, is
everything okay?"
"The same old story: Charles' love affair, or more like a mess! How dared he let Vicky live in our villa in
the city? What is he doing?" At the thought of it, Melissa became even angrier. It looked like she was
going to explode in rage at any time.
"Ma'am, please, take it easy. Maybe Mr. Lu has his own plan by doing this. We don't know." Nancy
wanted to put in a good word for Charles to soothe Melissa.
"Plan? What plan?! As far as I know, he has lost his mind for that bitch!" Melissa spat furiously. She
tossed back a cup of tea and continued complaining to Nancy.
Nancy didn't know what else she could do to make Melissa feel better. She was always stubborn, even
with her feelings. Her emotions always stuck with her.
At that moment, Charles and David entered the house after opening the door.
Melissa got up after seeing Charles. Her body posture looked as if she was ready for a fight. Before
she could barrage Charles with any questions about the issue with Vicky, Charles spoke first.
"Mom, did you go see Belinda?" Charles asked with his eyebrows tightly frowned. It was obvious he
was trying to suppress his anger.
"Yes...I, I did. Why? Is anything wrong?" Melissa answered, pretending to be calm.
She had assumed that nobody had noticed it since it had been quite a few days already. However, she
didn't even suspect Charles knew nor that he would bring it up now.
"You would ask me if anything is wrong? Mom, I have told you so many times to stay out of my affair
with Sheryl. Why can't you just listen and do what I say?" Charles questioned her aggressively. Even
though he seemed calm, his tone was cold enough.
Melissa was rendered speechless. From Charles' perspective, she shouldn't have visited Belinda.
However, as his mother, she must do something to save the situation! Or what else could she do? She
would regret not doing something forever.
She would never let that happen.
"Charles, it's fine if you want to be with Vicky. It's your business, not mine. But I can't just stand by and
do nothing. I will never, ever, allow that girl to enter Dream Garden!" Melissa couldn't help flaring up as
she recalled her confrontation with Vicky earlier today.
"Mom, what are you talking about? We're discussing Belinda not Vicky. What does Vicky have to do
with anything?" Charles asked, looking at Melissa in confusion.
