Chapter 1974 I Won't Leave Him
Chapter 1974 I Won't Leave Him
Nancy noticed how anxious Melissa was. She just hoped Melissa wouldn't do anything foolish.
In the hospital
Vicky had just woken up. She figured she must have been sedated since she had gotten quite a sound
sleep.
"That damn Charles!" Vicky muttered to herself. When she moved, she felt a stinging pain in her wrist. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
She finally remembered that she had slashed her wrist in an attempt to commit suicide. Luckily, she
had been able to respond quickly, or she wouldn't have known what to do.
Vicky slowly got up and stretched her arms. She felt much better now. She then headed out of her
room.
"Miss, I'm sorry, but you can't go out for now." The nurse stood in her way, stopping her.
"I just want to go to the garden for some sunlight." Vicky looked at the nurse as if she was being
bullied.
The nurse had assumed that Vicky was up to something, so she was pleasantly surprised when Vicky
said that she only wanted to go out for some sunlight.
"Oh, sure. Let me help you," the nurse offered politely.
However, Vicky didn't want this, so she shook her head and smiled. "Don't worry. I'm fine. I can walk by
myself."
"Are you sure?" the nurse insisted, looking worried.
Vicky nodded her head to say she was fine.
The nurse then had no choice but to concede.
When Vicky was finally alone, she took her phone out. She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts for a
while before opening her phone and dialing a number.
Meanwhile, at the gate of the hospital, Melissa seemed thoroughly displeased. She hated recalling her
stay here in the hospital considering how long it had been.
She took a deep breath and then walked in.
Melissa immediately located Vicky's room but found that she wasn't there. Confused, she asked the
nurse, "Where's the patient?"
"Oh, she said she was going to the back garden. You can go there if you want to see her." The nurse
left once she had finished replying as she had other patients to check on.
Melissa had wanted to ask where the back garden was, but now she was just going to look for it
herself.
As she made her way there, she asked other people for directions until she finally reached the garden.
She could see Vicky standing near a flower bush from a distance. She was far enough that she couldn't
tell what Vicky was doing.
When Melissa drew closer, she found Vicky talking on the phone; however, she couldn't hear what she
was saying. She could tell that Vicky was emotional, though.
Melissa was near enough to see Vicky but too far to hear her.
Melissa tried to get closer as she wanted to hear Vicky; however, she tripped on a piece of wood by
accident.
She didn't make much noise, but Vicky was alert enough to hear it.
Vicky looked back to find Melissa standing behind her. She immediately hung up her call.
They'd already met before, so they already knew each other.
"Aunt Melissa, what are you doing here?" Vicky asked politely.
Upon hearing that Vicky had addressed her as 'Aunt Melissa, ' Melissa was immediately reminded of
Leila, who she didn't like.
Melissa cast a cold glance at Vicky.
Vicky didn't seem to notice this, but instead, she smiled and said enthusiastically, "Aunt Melissa, did
you come to see me?" As she spoke, she moved closer to Melissa.
Melissa meanwhile took a step back. She held her chest with both her hands as she said spitefully,
"Don't try to make nice with me. I'm not here to see you. We're not close."
Melissa made sure she kept a distance between herself and Vicky.
Vicky didn't seem to care or even notice.
"Well, you're already here. You said you didn't come to see me, but I know you want to say something.
Go ahead," Vicky said confidently.
Melissa felt sick to the stomach at how Vicky was acting.
"Fine, I did come here to talk with you. Leave my son alone. How much money do you want? I'll give it
to you," Melissa responded bluntly.
Vicky acted confused. She said despondently, "Aunt Melissa, I can't remember anyone else. I only
remember Charles. I don't know what I'm going to do if I leave him."
"Just stop bothering my son. He's not your husband. You and Charles aren't together," Melissa
snapped.
"Charles is my husband. Shouldn't I be with my husband? If you want me to leave, then where do you
want me to go?"
"Come on. You know what I mean. Just because you lost your memory, that doesn't mean that you can
do whatever you want. I suggest you leave soon, then maybe, you can even make some money out of
this. If you don't leave him alone, I'll make sure you regret it," Melissa threatened.
"Aunt Melissa, I'm Charles' wife. Where would I go?" Vicky sadly said.
Melissa grew furious upon seeing that Vicky was still playing her act. She couldn't say anything out of
anger.
She started to fish for something in her bag. Then she took out her checkbook, wrote on a check, and
handed it to Vicky. "Look. Tell me if that's enough for you. If not, I can give you more."
Vicky looked at the check and saw that it was worth ten million. She sighed in envy. 'The Lu Family's so
wealthy, ' she thought to herself.
But that wasn't enough for Vicky.
She started to panic. She repeatedly shook her head as she stepped backward. She asked, "Why?
Why are you doing this to me? Why?"
Vicky was speaking so loudly that she started to attract the attention of doctors and nurses.
Some patients were even starting to walk towards them. Melissa didn't expect this of Vicky. She'd
behaved like this herself before, but she couldn't believe Vicky was doing it too.
"Damn it! Why are you shouting? If you think it isn't enough, just tell me. I can give you more," Melissa
said angrily.
"Aunt Melissa, I love Charles. He's my husband. I will never leave my husband," Vicky stated firmly as
she looked at Melissa in the eye to show her determination.
