Asmoday
I had no choice but to get rid of Damian. I felt terrible doing it since he has been loyal to us for so long.
They had already caught the other two bears so I knew it was a matter of time before they got Damian.
I was right; they now have all three. I have no idea how they counteracted the poison. I am going to
guess that Imyra had something that kept the poison from killing him. I know they have been searching
for the two of us. We have destroyed most of the locations where we previously met at. I have even
destroyed a few of the places where I used to hold my merchandise. Luckily, I have two remote Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
locations where I was able to move all my merchandise. These happen to be the main places we work
out of. We came close a few weeks ago when they showed up at the last main location. We had just
cleared out a day before when the seven of them showed up. I had no idea hunters were around.
Luckily, they took care of them. I watched the fight. I always loved watching the girls fight. They are
amazing; they didn’t even need to use any of their powers which I wouldn’t give to be able to catch one
of them. The amount of money I could make from one of them is unimaginable. But the risk is not worth
the money. I might be a demon, but any one of those girls is more than capable of ending my life.
“So they send a couple of the guys up to heaven asking around for me,” Vepar says.
She has just walked into the room. That is not surprising. I wonder who they sent? I have a feeling it
was Chris. Those angels have always had a thing for that boy. I wonder which of the other two went? I
know it wasn’t Tarlek, those angels hate him, and he hates them.
“They sent one of the wolves and a human,” Vepar tells me.
Well, that’s an interesting bit of information. I can guarantee that Chris took them. They didn’t get much
information. Vepar hasn’t talked to anyone there for months. Last, any of them knew we were in
France. We haven't been to France in eight months.
“What kind of information did they get? Who told you?” I asked.
“They got very little and Reggie sent a message.” She explains.
Good, I always did like Reggie. Just good enough not to get kicked output bad enough to help. The fact
that he is Vepar’s distant relative somehow also helps. That means that they still have no idea where
we are. I know those great beasts are still sniffing around. That’s how they got so close last time. I bet
they will try again. I know they finally figured out that Araya is a Nephilim, but they still have no idea
that she is our daughter. I am thankful for that.
Chris
I have not been here in a long time. When we talk, it is usually over the phone, so no one sees us. We
text fairly regularly but haven’t seen each other in years. Rye is here too. The three of us are the best
of friends. The fact that he is Rye’s cousin helped. The two of us are sitting here in the darkest corner
of this biker bar. We are waiting for the warlock I know to show.
“Please tell me that your sisters know about this,” Nigel says.
“No, they don’t, and don’t worry, I will deal with them if they find out. Besides, you know they like you.” I
tell him.
He sits down and shoots us one of his cocky smiles. He places a couple of drinks down on the table for
us. Ahh, my favourite; I swear it’s like he knows us.
“So how have you two been?” He asks.
I will start by explaining everything that has happened in the last three years. I tell him about the plots
and the pack. I even tell him about how everything has been turned over to my sisters and me. He is
not surprised.
“I would have loved to have been there when they were told that they are now the bosses.” He laughs.
“They told Uncle Zeus, Uncle Poseidon, and Uncle Hades for fuck off,” I tell him.
The three of us laugh. Only my sisters could get away with shit like that.
“We need your help,” Rye says.
I told him about Asmoday and Vepar. I explained what happened a few weeks ago with the hunters.
Yeah, I expected the pissed-off look. He hates hunters as much as we do. He also hates when the girls
get into fights as much as we do.
“So you caught those three assholes. Good, I never did like them.” Nigel comments.
“So what do you need from me?” He asks.
“We need a way to sniff around without using the animals. They automatically go back to my sisters;
that’s why they ended up running into the hunters.” I tell him.
He leans back in his chair, and I can see the wheels turning in his head. This is why I like Nigel so
much. He doesn’t jump into things. He thinks about them and has a plan a, b, c, and d before going in.
“Give me a week to get some shit together. I definitely have ways. However, I want your sisters to know
what is going on. They may love me, but I still don’t want them pissed at me.” He says.
I told him it was no problem and that I would tell them what was happening. He nods his head. We
hang out there for a few more hours, talking about shit and getting drunk. I stumble my way into the
house. Nymyra is sitting on the couch reading something.
“Just a heads up, your sisters are pissed. They have been looking for the two of you. They know you
and Rye were up to something when they tried talking to you, and you had them blocked.” She tells me
without looking up.
I cringe at this. I knew they would be pissed, but I needed to talk to Nigel alone with Rye. I will deal with
them tomorrow.
Rye
Thank god for Aunt Imyra, or I might be dead right now. I am also thankful for Kaleb and Reecie.
Nymyra told Chris last night that Mykenzie and Kylani were pissed. Pissed was an understatement.
They were beyond pissed. We were sitting in our normal meeting place when they showed up. Marcus
now has no front door on the house. We were sitting there when the door literally blew up, and they
walked in. I think we all had a feeling something bad was going to happen when the entire house
started glowing red. I haven’t seen them glow that red in a while. When their eyes locked on Chris and
me, I knew we were in deep shit. That is where Kaleb and Reecie came in. They were just about to us
when they grabbed each one of the girls and held them back. Bryn and the rest showed up not long
after. Byron just stood there with an " I told you " look on her face. Chris and I quickly started explaining
that we had met with Nigel and that he wanted to help. We didn’t tell them exactly why we wanted his
help. They finally calmed down, but I could tell they were still angry. Kaleb and Reecie were able to
convince them to go back to the packhouse.
“Ok, so what is the real reason to ask Nigel for help?” Tyrell asks.
“We want a way to sniff around without using the animals.” I answered.
They all nod. They understand. The animals are extremely helpful, but they really only answer the girls.
So anything they find gets told to the girls first, then to us—for example, the incident with the hunters. I
tell them that we should be hearing something from him soon.
“Is he trustworthy?” Dustin asks.
“Yes, I trust him with my life. Plus he is my cousin.” I tell him.
This earns me a look. I explain that Nigel’s mom is my mother's sister and his father is a warlock. I
explain that he also knows the black market inside and out.
“Many of the black market guys used to come to him for ways to conceal their places. His father was
killed 16 years ago.” I tell them.
“Is it possible that his father was the warlock that kidnapped both Araya and Einyn?” Tye asks.
That shuts me up quick. That is an interesting thought. I have no idea, but it is a strange coincidence
that that warlock was killed around the same time. I guess it is a possibility. I need to talk to my aunt. I
hate to talk to her about this. It broke her heart when his body was found by a couple of the guards. I
look at Chris, and he is thinking the same thing. I am so dreading this conversation.
