The Alpha's Surprised Mate (Book #1 of Silver Moon Series)

One-Hundred Forty-Two: Construction

Dustin

Well, this last week has been a learning curve of epic proportions. Between a couple of guys smarting

off to Mykenzie and Kylani and almost getting their hearts ripped out and realizing that all of the

buildings and houses on the newly acquired pack land have to be completely rebuilt, everything else

seems fine. New and old members are getting along fine. We did lose a fair amount of members who

chose to leave for different packs. I knew that would happen. Hell, I was expecting it. I talked with

Poseidon, and he set a meeting with the company he knew. I already had a couple of other companies

I was talking to. I went with the company Poseidon knew, one because they are family and two

because they get along with the girls. The girls were there when I met with the other two companies,

and to say the meetings went terribly is an understatement. I really thought the girls were going to kill a

couple of the guys. They guys were real assholes anyway but still. I also had a large bar-b-que to

introduce all the ranking and important members of the pack to the new members. That also helped

calm all those girls that are looking to get their claws into one of us. I did make it very clear about all the

different beings within our pack. Well, I didn’t say anything about Einyn. Most everyone was accepting.

There were a few; however, that was not so happy about it, but they either got over it or left.

“I got a weird feeling from a few of the warriors,” Nate says.

“I did as well. I am having Brandon keep an eye and an ear out for anything worrying. “ I tell him.

“I have decided that once the new packhouse over there gets built that a few of you will be living there

to help keep everyone happy and in line,” I tell them.

“We can keep everyone in line.” Mykenzie murmurs.

I ignore her comment. I knew she was right, but at the same time, after what happened during training,

I was not taking the chance of one of these idiots challenging them. I almost let the girls finish those

fuckers off, but I figured that would not be a good way to start off as Alpha.

“Chris, Nymyra, Rye, Tye, Draydon, Dyana, and Satyira will live there. Chris you are going to be in

charge. I give you the authority to decide whatever is needed.”I tell him.

I can see an argument forming in Mykenzie and Kylani’s minds. I know what they are thinking. Why

their brother?

“I need you two here. Besides let’s be honest it isn’t like you seven won’t be wondering the whole

territory. I know that you two will know everything that is going on.” I explain to them.

That seems to keep them happy. They sit back and just listen. So far, this discussion has gone well. I

just want to get this straightened out.

Draydon

I was surprised when Dustin said I would be going to the new packhouse once it was built. This is

going to be interesting. I wonder how the new members will react when a dragon is living around them.

The architectural and construction company will be here tomorrow, and the girls will show them the

land and the new pack land. I wonder what they will say about the new pack's dilapidated houses.

Granted, all the buildings there are old, but they also don’t look like they were taken care of.

“You know what I can’t wait for?” I say.

“What?” Jason asks.

“The first time those great beasts show up and walk around without a care in the world. I can only

imagine everyone’s reactions and expressions.” I say, laughing.

“Oh fuck I forgot about those beasts,” Dustin groans.

I watch as he pinches the bridge of his nose. I know he knows exactly what I am talking about. I

wonder how many hearts attacks those animals are going to cause. I can tell you that those warriors

are going to lose their minds. They are a lot more respectful of women now. I absolutely enjoyed every

second of watching those girls beat the hell out of those arrogant warriors. That actually made my black

dragon heart happy.

“I bet the girls are excited at being in charge of all of this,” I say.

“They are and it has the added benefit of hopefully keeping them out of trouble.” Peter comments.

“Keep dreaming.” Donte snarks.

Several of us laugh at that. Yes, this will keep them focused on rather than running all over the world

looking for shit to get into. I have no doubt that those girls will have just what this pack needs to be

built. They actually did an amazing job with the cottages here. I can’t wait to move to the new

packhouse. This is a welcome distraction from the storm that I know is brewing. Blain is due to come

later today and let us know what he has found out. I think that Blain and his coven will be good allies.

Now we just need Rye and his mate to get their shit together and admit how they feel.

Blain

I arrived earlier today, and the conversation with Dustin went well. I have Alan and Royce with me. I

brought Royce because he and Rye need to suck it up and deal with their shit. It is obvious to anyone

that looks at them that they are mates. Considering that they keep throwing each other lovesick looks,

it’s enough to make someone vomit.

“Are we doing this or not?” Bryn asks.

“Yes, we are. Let’s get this game started.” Haze says.

Haze, Mykenzie, Kylani, Bryn, Jace, Josh, Brandon, Mitchell, and I are sitting around a table in a small

room. We are getting ready to get a poker game started. I like this; we have a few more people than

last. This should be a good game. It’s nice having a few more people. There will be no buying of an

island this time and no more tattoos.

“Just to make things clear. I don’t have the money to buy an island.” Josh says.

“Don’t worry that won’t happen again,” Bryn says.

Yes, that will not happen again. I am still not sure how it happened last time, but it makes a nice

vacation spot. I am not even sure who the hell we found to sell us an island, either. Someone made

one hell of a commission on our poor drunk asses that day. Haze deals first.

“Ok bitches let the game begin.” Kylani comments.

What in the fuck happened? I grab my head and slowly sit up. Shit, we did it again. I cautiously look

around. I see Bryn, Mykenzie, Kylani, Haze, Jace, Josh, Brandon, and Mitchell. Ok, good, we are in a

room. It is not the room we were playing poker in. I can tell we are still in the packhouse by the smell.

That gives me hope we didn’t do anything too ridiculous.

“My head.” Josh groans.

“If you groan any louder I am going to bitch slap you,” Bryn grumbles.

Everyone is starting to wake up. We all sit there for a while. After about half an hour, we all stumble out,

and there stands Chris, Kaleb, Dustin, and Draydon. Draydon starts laughing. I can see Haze glaring at

Draydon.

“Have a good night?” Dustin asks.

The girls just flip him the bird and walk off. The rest of us stumble back to our rooms. This happens

every time. I fall onto my bed and pass out.

Haze

It hurts to wake up. I have no idea how much I drank last night, but it was a lot. Our little group is sitting

out back by the pool, recovering from our poker game.

“Hey does anyone actually know who won the game?” Brandon asks.

“I think Jace did, but I am not sure,” Kylani replies.

“At least we didn’t buy anything stupid.” Bryn comments.

Ok, good point. I continue to drink my water. None of us is moving much. Everyone is leaving us alone.

Mainly because the girls are not overly friendly right now, and no one wants to irritate them when they

are hungover. Kaleb, of course, was laughing at us earlier, and Kylani gave him a glare which he

ignored. It seems it’s good being the mate of a goddess.

“WHY THE HELL ARE THERE THREE HORSES AND A FUCKING LLAMA OUT BEHIND THE

TRAINING GROUNDS?” Dustin yells from inside the house.

We all look at each other. Apparently, we did buy something last night. Who in the fuck did we buy

horses and a llama from? I hear the back door slam shut, and I know Dustin is walking out towards us. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

I turn around to look at him, and I can see the look of irritation on his face. Kaleb and Seth are with him.

They are laughing. He comes to stand in front of us.

“At least it wasn’t an island,” Mykenzie says and keeps eating her sandwich.

Seth and Kaleb are doubled over laughing. I can’t help but laugh. This whole situation is crazy. Blain

just lays back on the chair, covers his eyes, and groans. Dustin throws his arms up in the hair and

walks off. Just another normal day in the Silver Moon pack.
