Chapter 93
Chapter 93
Alpha Nick remained unfazed. They could keep Sheila away from him because of his mistake of divorcing her, but when it came to his child, nob*dy had the right to take her away from him.
“Then I don’t mind fighting my way out, but this child i coming with me,” he replied solemnly, his gaze unwavering. He was prepared to battle them, even though they were. Sheridan’s brothers.
Sheridan felt guilty. Alpha Nick must have hurt her, but what did it have to do with the child? His agitation was understandable, but the fact remained that she had no idea who the stranger she met in New York City was.
“Nick, please, let’s talk in my pack. My parents have not seen her,” she pleaded. Something stirred inside Alpha Nick. He was not petty enough to deny her parents the right to see their grandchild, even though they wanted to keep her from him.
However, with her brothers ready for battle, he would not be able to fight off a whole. pack alone if the need arose.
“Then let me call for backup. I wouldn’t be surprised if your brothers try something funny.”
Sheridan disagreed. It was as if she had just come to her senses. “No. This is going to be a peaceful collaboration, and I will come to the Dark Moon Pack. I will accept the offer to be your contract Luna for six months.”
Her heart ached at the mention of a contract. She had never gotten over him during her time away from him, and now that they had a child together, it was even worse as they would never be able to avoid each other.
No matter how much she tried to deny it, a contract was not what she needed, but to gather herself, she would rather start over from there. Alpha Nick did not agree to her
request.
“No. You can only be my wife. That offer is off.”
Sheridan swallowed tightly. The most important thing was to provide a safe environment for her child to grow up in. Therefore, it was necessary to do everything possible to get Daisy to safety before she tried to battle that creepy man.
“Then you have to give me time. I will visit the pack first, but without Daisy. You can’t take her there,” she revealed. Alpha Nick’s brows raised slightly as he asked seriously,
“What are you talking about?”
“Let’s go home first.” Sheridan looked around at the onlookers. They were indeed causing a scene, and it was best not to discuss sensitive matters in the open.
Alpha Nick wanted to refuse, but the panicked look on her face sparked his concern for her, so he followed them to the Moon Shine Pack.
The Alpha King and his queen were surprised to see Alpha Nick’s presence but guessed the reason. “He found out.” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Yes,” Sheridan responded with a sullen expression as she took a seat on one of the large sofas. Alpha Nick sat beside her with Daisy, who was now sleeping soundly in his arms. Everyone made
themselves comfortable before the Alpha King began to ask,
“So, what have you decided?” His question was directed at Alpha Nick. He replied honestly.
“I’m ready to marry Sheila.”
“I don’t want to marry you,” Sheridan denied, though her cheeks were stained red. She was just afraid of being hurt again. After everything, she could not hate him and feared. that if he hurt her again by finding his second chance mate, she would not be able to withstand it. She might even lose her life.
“Then I will keep Daisy, but you will have visiting rights,” Alpha Nick said with a pained expression. He had hurt her, but how long would it take for her to forgive him?
The Alpha King, Julius Warner, had his reservations about this arrangement. He wished that Sheridan would have a man to call her own but could not force it on her.
“That is my first grandchild, Alpha Nick Thorax. Please reconsider.”
“I agreed to have another contract with him,” Sheridan revealed. Her father did not like the idea but asked her,
“So, you have decided to go back?” He did not want her to regret it again. If they had feelings for each other, then why not be together?
“He didn’t give me a choice,” Sheridan responded in a depressed tone. Alpha felt guilty. She was the one who proposed the marriage, but he was the one who initiated the divorce. What right did he have to force her?
Perhaps it was due to the pain of not seeing her pregnant, not going to the doctor’s. appointments with her, and not being present for the birth of his child.
This was the reason she ran away, and he didn’t want it to happen again. “I had the right to know, Sheila.” His voice lost its hardness, suddenly filled with warmth.
“She’s Sheridan. I don’t want to hear you calling her Sheila,” the Alpha King corrected, but Alpha Nick somehow could not refer to Sheila as Sheridan.
“That is what she told me, and that was the name she wrote on our marriage certificate. I’m quite used to and more comfortable with it.”
“It’s also the same name on the divorce papers,” Sheridan reminded him, unknowingly confirming his argument to her father.
Alpha Nick wanted her so much that letting her go was too hard for him. However, he would rather let go than watch her disappear from his life again.
“I’m sorry, Sheila. I promise in front of your father, your mother, seven brothers, and cousin that I will make you the happiest woman in the world if you come back to me.” He paused, his eyes carrying complex emotions, and his voice heavy with regret as he added. “But if you want to stand by your word to not come back to me, I deserve it. We can have equal custody of Daisy.”
He wanted her to have the taste of revenge with him, but since she seemed uninterested, it was time to reject Charlotte and let her go. If Sheila did not want him, then he had no need for any other woman in his life.
The moon goddess was gracious to give him a daughter through the woman he loved, and that was enough for him.
Those words, regardless of how they were spoken, caused his heart to ache. Sheridan. was suddenly shaken. He was finally giving up on her, but why was she not happy about it? Wasn’t this
what she wanted? For him to leave her alone, but was she ready to battle. against her feelings for him? And what if she lost him forever?
After careful thought and assessing her emotions, she made the greatest decision of her life…
