Chapter 152
Chapter 152
“From the way Daisy clung to the bracelet, I think it belongs to her grandmother, and that means your grandmother must have stolen it from Sheridan’s mother,” Charlotte analyzed, but Tom could not agree with her.
“Impossible. I doubt that they ever knew each other.”
Charlotte could also not agree with him. The packs were linked together, so the grandparents could have had their own frictions unknown to the youngsters.
“Unless you want us to go back to the Dark Moon Pack to resolve this mystery, we could also end this conversation here.”
Tom did not want to suffer another embarrassment of going to the Dark Moon Pack again but also did not want to hold on to the information, especially when Alpha Nick had asked him then.
“I could give Alpha Nick a clue to settle it on his own.” Bringing out his phone, he dialed Alpha Nick’s number.
Alpha Nick was having a workout session with Daisy when Sheridan brought the phone to him. Bree and Ansaldo slept over and left earlier. The pack returned to being quiet as pack members celebrated into the wee hours of the morning.
“Nick, your phone is ringing,” Sheridan brought his phone close to him and spoke.
Nick did not want to be interacted with and asked, “Who is on the line?” From the way Daisy frowned due to the presence of the phone, it added to his reluctance to take the call.
“It’s Tom,” Sheridan revealed, and Alpha Nick frowned slightly.
“Answer it. I’m not in the mood to talk to anyone,” he said. Daisy giggled and sat on his back as he did his press–ups.
The girl giggled with each movement as Sheridan shook her head. Daisy occupied all of Nick’s free time ever since they woke up, and she could not help feeling jealous.
She could not even borrow her mate from her daughter. “I hope you are exercising and not just riding on your father’s back,” she cautioned the little girl in a playful tone, earning another giggle from her.
Sheridan answered the phone without putting it on speaker with the hope of piquing Alpha Nick’s interest, but it did not seem to be happening. “Tom, Nick is working out,” she said as soon as she answered the call. Tom was still anxious to give out the information.
“Luna Sherry, it’s about the dewdrops pearl bracelet. Charlotte was telling
me that
your mother might know something about it.”
Sheridan froze for a moment before she responded. “Thanks for the information.”
When Sheridan ended the call, Nick did not even bother to ask her what it was all about. “Won’t you ask?” Sheridan asked in annoyance. Alpha Nick did not even look her way.
If it concerned her as a person, he would be interested, but since it was Tom, it did nothing to hold his interest.
“I don’t care. It’s my time with my baby.” He kneeled on all fours and slowly pulled Daisy from his back before lying on his back and having her sit on his flat six–pack stomach.
“It’s about the pearl bracelet anyway. I will just call my mom to find out.”
Hearing about the pearl bracelet, it concerned Daisy, so Alpha Nick finally gave his attention but was already gone, thinking he doesn’t care.
She felt that the only way to get both their attention was to join the workout, but Alpha Nick said no training, and everyone should rest.
Sheridan needed that rest. Returning to her bedroom, she dialed her mother’s number, and the phone was surprisingly answered on the first ring.
“Sherry, I hope you aren’t upset that we couldn’t make it. The pregnancy isn’t easy on your brother’s mates, and your father hasn’t been well for the past few days.”
Sheridan felt that something was deeply wrong. She expected her brothers to come and support her, but none of them showed up and equally did not answer their phones, which was already weird.
Just as her mother said, she equally felt the pregnant women were not making it easy on them, coupled with pack responsibilities, but from her mother’s words, she felt that something bigger happening.

“What’s going on?”
“Don’t worry. Arnold is taking care of everything, and we shall make it up
to
you as soon as things get better over here,” her mother tried to brush
the matter aside, but Sheridan was not having it.
“Mom, why didn’t you tell me?” They were still her family, and she had every right to know their state of affairs at every point in time. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
“You had your problems too,” her mother pointed out over the phone, but Sheridan could still not agree.
“But ma’am.”
“It’s a long story, Sherry, it has nothing to do with you, but why did you call?” Her mother asked, trying to divert the topic of discussion.
“It’s no longer important. Please take care of the pack. I will come by later,” Sheridan said in annoyance, upset that her mother did not want to open up to her.
She might just have to go see things for herself.
Her mother was not liking the idea of her coming over to the pack and tried to discourage her.
“Like I said, Arnold is taking care of everything with your brothers, and I’m taking care of your father, but he’s sleeping now. We can talk on the phone, and no need to come in person.”
Sheridan could not argue anymore, as she revealed on the phone. “I want to find out if you know something about a dewdrops pearl bracelet.”
The question that followed was so prompt, Sheridan could not help being suspicious. “How did you know about that?”
“That’s because Daisy has it. She took it from Charlotte,” Sheridan answered truthfully, amazed by her mother’s interest in the bracelet.
“Sherry please, I need that bracelet. You should get it here right now.”
There was silence for a moment. Sheridan would have sent someone to deliver it, but since her mother kept the happenings of the moonshine pack to herself, Sheridan was also not ready to do as she wanted.
“Mom, you have to tell me what it’s all about first.”
