The Alpha's Mate Is A Spy

Chapter 27: Who?

Chapter 27: Who?

* DEREK's POV*

Just what is taking her so long?

I waited patiently in the living room. My eyebrow furrowed as I unceasingly tapped on the sofa hand

rest, my eyes locked towards the door in front of me.

It's been 3 hours since she left, so I couldn't guess what kind of matter she's dealing with, when all I

ordered her to do was ask the main kitchen to deliver the supplies.

Should I just go to her?

I rubbed my temples together, "She's such a troublesome she-wolf."

At that moment, I was aware that I was painstakingly waiting for her like an idiot. The impulse wasn't

something that I could prevent, unlike the others. My bond with her was more potent than anyone else.

I could sense her well, as if she's my other half. Feeling anxious, I didn't hesitate anymore and tried to

reach out to her via mindlink.

['Where are you? Do you know what time is it?']

No answer. I sighed, my knuckles cracked in irritation.

['I know you can hear me! You better come back here now or else!']

Again, there was no response. My mind went blank from anger as I stood up. My fist shook as I fought

the will to drag her back in the house.

But just when I was on the verge of losing to my instinct, I suddenly got a hold of her presence closing

in, and her footsteps rang bells to my attention.

She stops in front of the door.

What is she doing?

Her movements were erratic, and her footsteps were all over the ground, so I had to check what was

going on personally.

However, as soon as I opened the door, her small frame body topples to my chest, her breathing

unsteady, and the tray that she was holding falls beside us.

"Shit-"

"...Alpha Derek?" She pants, her scent lingering.

My breath hitched when I felt my wolf scream in desire. She was wearing a tight red dress that showed

her cleavage, her lips puckered toward me as her eyes fought to stay awake. I was even barely trying

to hold her, my hands hesitantly set around her shoulder to support her.

I gulped in agitation.

"You really!" When I noticed the wine glass shattered on the ground, my eyes widened. "Is that wine?"

Confused, I checked her breathing to be sure. I felt my skin tingling when I realized that the same wine

smell was coming from her. I couldn't express my thoughts. I wondered how can a she-wolf even get

drunk in the first place?

Recklessly, she then wrapped her arms around my neck. I stiffened as I fought the urge.

"Alpha... am I not attractive?" She says in a slurred speech.

I sighed, moving my head back a few inches away.

"Look at you. Are you drunk? You're the first werewolf in history to get intoxicated. You really are

something, aren't you? Tell me, what did you do this time?"

This time, she pulls me towards her as she replied with puppy eyes. If it weren't for me breaking the

pull, then I would've already felt her lips on mine. I coughed, awkward to the stunt that she just tried to

pull.

"Again! stop with these tricks!"

She spreads her arms in the air, before she sat down lazily on the ground. "But I can't live without it!"

She's crazy, I exhaled. "Get up. The floor's dirty."

"Pick. Me. Up."

I stared at her in disbelief. "You're really pushing your luck, Venus. Provoke me one more time and i'll-"

When she was about to lay her back on the cold-ass floor, I hurriedly yanked her arm and carried her

like a sandbag around my neck. I had enough of dealing with her tantrums so might as well just throw

her to her room.

She yelps, as she tried to struggle away from the position. "N..Not like this! It wasn't supposed to be

like this!"

"Stop moving!" I growled in anger.

There really is no other explanation for this other than using drugs. Werewolves can't get drunk in the

first place. When we arrived at her room, she tries even harder to resist. My neck in her view, she

bared her fangs and sank it to my nape.

I gasped, This crazy-!

"I need you... please don't leave me like this," she grumbles.

Taken aback, I stopped moving and waited for her to calm down. She was saying random stuff while

venting her anger by biting me multiple times until it bled. Honestly, seeing her like this was a first,

though I don't have a reason to accept this misbehavior as her alpha, I couldn't help but be selfish.

Since she only acts like this in front of me.

When I felt her strength weakening, I softly placed her on her bed. She squints her eyes, grabbing my

wrist in an instant.

I threatened. "Let go."

"No." She barks.

"Stop being stubborn and sleep." Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

"I can't! my mission isn't over yet!"

"What mission, just go to sleep you drug addict." I pulled her covers up. "We'll have plenty to talk about

tomorrow morning, so save your energy. You might need it."

I gazed at her.

Though I wanted her to change into more comfortable clothes, I knew what might happen if I told her to

change in this state, and I'm also not one to speak.

I'm on the verge of losing my rationality just being near this woman.

Hurriedly, I tried moving away from her. Only to get caught up by her thighs, she wraps it around my

waist and rolls me over to reverse our position. All of a sudden, something snapped inside of me.

I couldn't help but stare at her. The exhilaration that I felt as I gawked at how her body lay on top of

mine made me weak as her purple eyes were glowing under the dim moonlight that reflected it.

Shit.

"You're not leaving! You.. have to stay with me all night!" She says, her palms on top of my chest.

At that moment, I was fighting every will to bite back at her. She was provoking me badly to the point I

had to cover my eyes to convince myself that none of it was happening. That she wasn't laying on top

of me, and I didn't currently have an erection under my pants.

Why the hell am I feeling this way?

I huffed and muttered in a low voice. Focusing my gaze to the ceiling, "Control yourself Derek, this isn't

like you."

Reaching her hand to the side of my face, she carefully lays her head on top of my chest, "Ryan told

me... that when people tend to have fast heartbeat, they're either nervous or excited. Tell me, Which

are you?"

"Who's Ryan?" I asked, annoyed.

"...I don't really get it Alpha Derek. Why don't you feel attracted to me at all? Don't you feel the

connection? Or you just deny it? Is this still because of that woman you speak of?"

What connection? And how did she know about Cheryl? My eyebrow furrowed in confusion. I was still

in a bit of a daze, and she was nowhere planning to get off of me anytime soon.

Yet my thoughts still lingered at the man's name that escaped from her lips.

"Who the hell is Ryan?"
