It Is Too Much
I walk into a building after the Alpha. In the back, there is clearly a large area with all kinds of training equipment. It is well secured, it has much of a concentration camp. But I see some men training amicably with each other, but I understand from their moans that they are going hard on it.
Everyone we pass tries to get the attention of the Alpha. The man clearly earned a lot of respect among his subjects. After we signed up, some guards escorted us to a large room with a conference table with some comfortable chairs.
“They are going to get the two. We’re waiting here,” the Alpha whispers to me. My heart beats to my throat, I hope Saphira is willing to listen to me and leave with me. I know she’s an intelligent and reasonable person, not quite the confrontational type like Clarita.
Then I hear hasty footsteps coming our way. Excited, I jump out of my chair and take a few steps to the entrance, ready to take Saphira in my arms. I am so happy that I finally have the chance to meet and talk to her. I spread my arms with a big smile on my face.
But to my horror, Alpha Glary arrives through the door and plunges into my arms. My stomach turns as I inhale his awful scent, my hands fall to my side. Glary takes me in a bear hug and plants his face in my hair.
“Damn! Let me go. Now!” I bellow disgusted. “Alpha, get your filthy paws off me!” My voice drips with aversion, my hands reach his shoulder to push him off me. But he holds me tight and refuses to let me go.
And then he presses me against the wall as I take a few steps back, bending over to my face. His hand goes around my chin as he lifts my face with force.
“No!” I scream, but he takes that chance to shove his filthy tongue into my mouth. I gag and try to push him off me with more force, moving my head away, but he got a tight hold on me. Until he is snatched from me, I bend over to throw up on the floor.
Wiping my mouth against my shirt, I stumble forward, noticing Glary grinning at me.
“Thank you for your warm welcome, Mercedes. I missed you too, it’s great that you’ve come this far to meet me, dear,” he chuckles maliciously. And then he doesn’t see it coming, as the son of an Alpha, he considers being untouchable. When my flat hand hits his face hard, he stares at me perplexed.
“What the heck! How dare you, bitch!” he exclaims and menacingly steps towards me. But before he can try anything, Alpha Rainer stands between us.
“Not here in Shadow Moon, Alpha,” Alpha Rainer growls. “In my pack, women are not mistreated, we cherish them. You have earned the beating, assaulting a she-wolf is punishable under our pack rules.” His eyes become foggy, it’s obvious he’s communicating into the mind link. Some warriors come running in and handcuff Glary. Glary freezes, then stares furiously at Alpha Rainer.
“What is this? I am the future Alpha of Silver Moon and Mercedes is my pack member. I have every authority over her and not you. Take the handcuffs off me,” he roars. “I will inform my father about your actions. This is unheard of!”
But Alpha Rainer looks at him undisturbed. “May I remind you that the rules were clear to you and that you signed for them before you arrived here?” he remembers Glary. “And in addition to that, Mercedes is the future Luna of Midnight Moon with whom I signed an Alliance agreement. I owe it to Alpha Zane to ensure her safety.”
Never before have I seen Glary so defeated. As the warriors carry him away, he throws another threatening glance in my direction. Alpha Rainer steps toward me as if to take me in his arms for comfort, but I take two steps back. Then I run to a sink in the corner of the room to rinse my mouth. I want to get rid of Glary’s awful taste.
“Let’s move to another room while this one is cleaned up,” my host suggests.
In the other room, I bend over the table and rest my head in my arms. I frantically push back the nausea.
“Are you all right, Mercedes?” I hear the Alpha above my head. I nod but don’t look up.
“Go get Saphira now. As soon as I’m done here, I’m leaving,” I declare, upset.
“Hey, listen, this has nothing to do with Shadow Moon. None of my pack members mistreated you,” the Alpha now states. “May I remind you that it was your own Alpha’s son who assaulted you? My pack members know their limits. We are a civilized pack”, he declares almost insultingly. He is now sitting across from me at the table. I look up and see honesty in his eyes. He’s right, of course, Glary has always been like a loose cannon. He thinks he can afford anything without consequences, but he was proven wrong today.
“Sorry, Alpha. But it’s all too much. I want to round up and leave for my mate. And bring Jace his own mate, of course,” I told him. And then I see him going again in the mind link, I think he now orders to bring in Saphira. This time I don’t make the mistake of greeting her exuberantly, I want to avoid repeating what happened a few minutes ago.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
I turn to the door and look expectantly to the moment when she will join us. And this time, I am not disappointed. With sparkling eyes, Saphira rushes toward me. She spreads her arms and I dive in.
“Saphira! I’m so glad to see you!” I cry out, stifled in her arms.
“Mercedes! This is such a splendid surprise. I’m also happy to see a familiar face from my pack. Glary can be so boring sometimes,” she laughs. “What brings you here? Or were you passing through?”…
