The Alpha's Daughter

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Roxanne POV

I sat at the table with the rest of the pack eating breakfast.

I have been so agitated all morning watching my sister flirt with Aiden. I seriously wanted to toss my

fork into her eye.

“Are you ready for your 18th birthday?” My sister asked, snapping me out of my violent thoughts.

I glanced down towards my fork sitting it down so I wouldn’t accidently chuck it at my sister.

She knew how I felt about Aiden yet she thought it would be fun to flirt with him. She was irking me to

the ultimate max and she was enjoying every bit of it.

“Yes I'm ready and I won't be leaving to look for my mate because happily I'm not you" I said, smirking

at my sister who glared at me.

“Girls stop,” My father said, pounding his fist on to the table drawing our attention away from our staring

match.

He really was such a powerful man. His voice was a weapon much more powerful than any machete or

gun.

Rachel and I crossed our arms stubbornly looking away from each other.

The rest of breakfast time was silent and quite awkward. You could literally cut the tension with a knife.

Soon after breakfast everyone went off to do their chores. I had to lead the hunting group today so I

headed outside with the others preparing to shift.

“Roxanne I need you for a moment” My dad said and I groaned following his voice to the kitchen.

“I want you to take your sister with you so she can restore her hunting skills a bit; I know she’s rusty. If

she can sharpen her skills, maybe she can help lead the group too” My father said patting Rachel

encouragingly on the back.

“You're kidding me right” I asked him and he shook his head ushering Rachel towards me before

walking off. I sighed shifting into my wolf form watching as my sister did the same, changing into a

midnight colored wolf similar to our mothers’.

A very long hour later my sister and I returned home. Sadly she was bearing a scratch that ran across

her cheek.

We shifted back to our human forms and my mom ran up to my sister worriedly palming her face as

she examined it.

“What happened to you sweetheart?” She asked and Rachel glared at me who stood beside them

watching smugly.

“Roxy scratched me” She said whining as my mother stroked her cheek and I smirked at her.

“Why on earth would you do something like that?” My mom asked and I shrugged trying my best to

hide the evil smile that threatened to appear on my face..

“It was an accident she got in my way when I was going in for a kill. A complete amatuer I would say” I

said eyeing my sister who scoffed turning her nose up at me.

“Roxanne go to your room this type of behavior is unacceptable” My mom said and beside her stood a

smiling Rachel.

I groaned stomping up to my room childishly. I laid on my bed for a long time making no effort to move

that was until a soft knock was heard on my door.

I answered it, revealing Aiden with a tray of food in his hands and a small smile on his lips.

“Here your mom sent me up here to hand you this” He said and I rolled my eyes.

“Wow my mom cares about me I couldn't tell” I said and Aiden frowned at me.

“Trust me she loves you she’s just a bit disappointed that is all” Aiden said and I snapped.

“How do you know” I yelled, slamming my fist into a wall creating a hole..

“Because I know how it feels to actually have parents who hate you” He said and I stared at him in

shock.

“I was born into a powerful pack you know the Moonshire Pack right?” Aiden asked and I nodded.

“I'll tell you the story just not out here” He motioned with his elbows into the hall where a few people

stood pretending to not hear our conversation. I nodded stepping aside allowing him into my room.

He sat the tray of food on my dresser joining me on my bed sighing as he tried to ease himself for the

story he was about to tell.

“I was born into a powerful pack you already know which” He said and I nodded listening attentively.

“My father, the Alpha at first was proud he had a son who would become the next Alpha. Then as I

growed up my dad and mom noticed I wasn't as big as I was supposed to be. Then I became a little bit Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

older and my dad realized how weak I was nowhere close to the strength of an Alpha. He knew I

wouldn't hurt a fly. I hated violence I believed it shouldn't be used unless it was absolutely necessary.

My dad hated the fact that I was so weak and pathetic not living up to his standards. He would beat me

believing it would toughen me up. Soon that changed to him beating me out of anger because I was so

pathetic. My mom just watched not saying a word. She didn't want to make my dad mad because she

loved him more than anything. Loved him so much that she left her only son in the woods to die to

make my father happy. Then the story goes on me finding your pack and finally living in peace well

besides a few instances” He said and I blinked my eyes rapidly feeling the tears welding into my eyes.

It was so sad hearing he was being abused all his life. Just because he wasn’t good enough to his

family,

“So don't say your parents don't care about you because you don't know how it feels to be truly hated”

He said.

I stared at him finally understanding why he was the way he was. I finally figured out why he was so

fragile.

He is probably one of the strongest people I know. I know plenty of people who would have just ended

the pain by ending their own life.

He stood in there taking it all by himself, never receiving any love. At this moment I then realized how

much I truly cared for him.

I knew there was something about him that caught my eye.

I grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. I watched as he held his arms awkwardly above me for a

while not touching me at all.

He soon registered what was happening and wrapped his arms around me, closing his eyes.

We sat there in silence for once feeling quite comfortable with each other. While we comforted the

other.

I knew it probably took a lot for him to just tell his life story just so I could see how petty I was being.

People have worse things happening to them and I was being a baby just because my parents were

mad at me because I hurt my sister.

Aiden made me realize if you have a loving family don't push them away because you don't know

who's out there suffering with no one to love them.
