I take in what’s going on around me; the women are scared, okay it’s time to step up and be the leader the elementals need me to be. As if I have a f*****g clue how to be a leader.

Saffy huffs in my head, “now is not the time for you to doubt us, now put your big girl pants on and be the badass I know you can be.” Bossy wolf, but she’s right.

I call to my husbands “Alphas can you get another house ready for the ladies, please? They will freeze out here.” They nod and run off and I turn to the pregnant elementals.

“Ladies, I know you have been through a lot, but we will get you somewhere warm while I help Jess. Okay? Please stay with Luna, Amanda and the other ladies, okay?”

Most nod and follow Amanda, but one approaches me and bows her head. I think her name is Stella. “Luna, my power is fire if I can help.”

Hayley steps forward, “I am earth” and then another girl steps up, “my name is Jasmin and I’m water.” I look at the three women and smile.

“okay ladies, let’s do this. We need to work together, Hayley. I need you to crack the ice, then Stella. Can you heat Jasmin’s water? And Jasmin, you spray the house, I will try to focus your powers.”

They all link hands and close the circle. “Now concentrate on what you need to do, picture the outcome and make it happen.” We all close our eyes and I feel heat rushing through my body.

The sound of four heartbeats thumping in my head and I feel all of their powers running through me, I feel Saffron push forward, not taking over but standing by my side, and I have a moment of clarity, I know exactly what to do.

I open my eyes and look at the three women before me. “Stay here, stay together and don’t follow me.”

Without waiting for a reply, I turn and walk to the wall of ice that surrounds the house. Placing my hands on the surface, I push forward. The ice shakes and hot water fills the cracks.

The ice melts away, clearing a path in front of me right to the door. I climb the steps to the porch and use wind to blow the door open, my feet crunch on the frozen floor of the entryway.

The ice melts everywhere I step. “JESS, ITS ME STAR, WHERE ARE YOU BABY-GIRL?” I hear a cry of pain from the kitchen and then a small voice, “Star? Please don’t come in. I can’t control my powers. I don’t want to hurt you.”

Rushing into the kitchen, I kneel before the terrified woman. “it’s ok sweetie, your powers can’t hurt me. Now take my hands and give me control of your power, okay?”

Linking hands I draw the excess power from her, I feel the ice run through me, but it is melted by the hot water running through me, once she is calm, I call for Saffrons strength and lift Jess into my arms, “we are going to get you next door okay sweetie, let’s get you warm and comfy and deliver this pup.”

I carry her out of the house and see the three women still standing were I left them, they are all smiling, tears running down their faces, Hayley steps forward and strokes Jessica’s hair, “Star that was amazing, we were with you all the time, it was incredible.”

My Alphas are standing in front of the house we had stayed in, and they rushed towards me. I look at Jess, “do you mind if Ash carries you sweetie? My strength is starting to wane.”

She nods as a contraction rips through her. Ash takes her from me and Lex catches me as saffy’s strength leaves me, “I’m okay baby, we need to get her inside, the baby is close.”

Lex carries me into the house and sets me down. They have tidied up after our night together and there is now a mattress and blankets on the floor in front of the fire.

A hand rubs my shoulder, and I turn to see my friend Samantha from the nursery. “Hey gorgeous girl, are you going to help me with this one?” I hug her, “like you could stop me,” I say with a smile.

I kneel behind Jess, a leg on either side of her, and pull her back in my arms. Samantha takes her place and gets Jessica’s knees up. “okay mama, we are going to see how far along you are sweetie,”

Jess looks at me, “what if I hurt her?” I k**s her head, and take her hands, “if your power starts to get too much, then I will siphon the excess again. It’s going to be fine, sweetie.”

Samantha looks up, ok ladies, this is going to be a quick one. We are already at 10 centimeters dilated, so we are ready to push with the next contraction, okay?”This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Jess nods and her body tenses, “it’s coming” she grips my hands as she bares down, her scream is more of excursion than pain, as soon as she relaxes, Hayley wipes her brow with a cool damp cloth, “you are doing amazing Jess.” Stella and Jasmin join us on the floor,

I sense another contraction and brace for Jess to push into me, “that’s it Jess, I see the head, one more and the head will be out, then one good push for the shoulders and it is almost done.”

I lean into her and k**s her head, “hear that baby? Not long now. You are doing so well, sweetie.” We don’t have to wait long before the next contraction.

“That’s it, the heads out. Now for the big one, Jess, you can do it.” Her entire body tenses, and she pushes against me. Closing my eyes, I concentrate on her pain. I breathe deeply, sending waves of calm over her. I feel her pain subside and she pushes even harder.

Then we hear the beautiful sound of a baby’s first cry. Samantha looks up, “you have a beautiful baby girl Jess, and she is perfect.” Stella holds out a blanket to wrap the baby in and places her on Jess’s chest. I peek over her shoulder, “oh Jess, she is beautiful. Do you have a name for her?”

She shrugs her shoulders, “I haven’t really thought about it, I didn’t think I would be able to keep her, but I would like one of her names to be Star, if you don’t mind, you made this possible.”

Pressing a k**s on her head. “It would be honoured baby-girl, are you sure though? I didn’t help you guys to have 10 babies named after me. I did it because it was the right thing to do.”

I look up at Samantha and she nods, “okay sweetheart looks like we are done, and I think both mother and baby could use a bath, how about I get Ash to carry you upstairs, and me and the girls can get you both clean?”

Hearing his name, Ash pops his head around the door. The girls are all tense until he smiles at them. “Did I hear my wife say she needed my muscles?”

I grin at him. He has such a calming aura. He looks at Jess and she nods.

Sauntering into the room, “Starlight and the other ladies will be with us the whole time, okay?”

I feel Jess relax. “Starlight? I like that,” she looks down at the pup in her arms, “Starlight Lewis, what do you think, baby-girl?” Ash grins. “I may be biased, but I think it’s perfect.”

He gently lifts them both into his arms and we all climb the stairs together.

Ash leads us into one of the bedrooms, the bunk beds have been removed, Ash notices me looking.

Ace, Lex and the guys are bringing one of the spare beds from our house and they have found a cot and changing table etc etc, the whole pack has been turning up at the pack house with stuff for the pups and the mama’s, tomorrow we can talk about what else we need to make everyone comfortable.”

Ash pops Jess into a chair and leaves us. “I’ll be downstairs if you need anything. What do you say to pancakes for breakfast?” I see him out and give him a k**s. “I f*****g love you, my perfect husband.”

He grins, “see I knew I was the favourite.” Chuckling, he runs down the stairs, I shout after him, “not the favourite, I don’t have a favourite.”

After bathing mother and pup we head to the bedroom, which has been set up with a large double bed, a moses basket and clothes for both mamma and pup. We get Jess dressed in some comfy pajamas and dress little Starlight in the cutest Babygro I have ever seen.

Jess settles down to give the pup a feed when there is a knock at the door, and Amanda pops her head in, “hey, there are a lot of ladies that would like to see the baby, are you up for some visitors?”

I look at Jess and she grins and nods at me, “okay but only two at a time and only for a few minutes okay, the rest of us can go down for breakfast, Jess I’ll bring your food up okay.”

I lean and k**s Starlight’s soft head, see you in a minute, as I leave I see Amanda bouncing with excitement, “Luna, I know how excited, but try to rain it in okay.”

She grins, “I will try, darling, as long as you promise to give me grandchildren soon.” I poke her ribs. “We are working on it.”

I head downstairs and find everyone around the dining table, I am shocked to see Ace and Lex at the table, I raise my eyebrows at them, Hayley grins, “they were going to eat on the porch, but we felt sorry for them and told them to come in.”

I sit on Lexi’s lap and he feeds me his pancakes, as Ash brings in more trays of food, followed by Max and Suzie, who are carrying pots of tea and coffee.

I thank my friends and ask if one of them could take a plate to Jess, Lex sniffs my neck, then both Ace and Ash sniff me, then Lex gets up and carries me out of the dining room, “we will be back in a minute, guys.” When we get to the lounge, he puts me down and rests his head against my stomach, before moving so his brothers can both snuggle into my tummy.

They all are kneeling at my feet, huge grins on their faces. “What are you doing, guys?” Ace stands and cups my cheeks, there are tears in his eyes, you are pregnant Tink, we are having a baby.”
