Chapter 29 The Heirs From Dhord City
“Please, don’t! I don’t want to die!” Timothy begged pitifully.
*Please have mercy. All I did was tease Lady Willow. I didn’t do anything else!” Jonathan was scared
out
of his wits.
In the face of death, both men wet themselves out of fright.
They had committed their fair share of killing and looting. They were savages themselves. But fear
swamped them when they faced such a situation.
Timothy was full of regret. He shouldn’t have had any ulterior motives toward Willow. Now, he was
going
to lose his life.
Jonathan felt the same way. He didn’t do anything at all. He accompanied Xenia to the gathering
because
he wanted to show off. He merely had some impure intentions toward Willow. Yet his life was now in
danger!
“Do it!” Sylvia ordered.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Several gunshots pierced the air.
Timothy and Jonathan were both dead.
Caspian dropped Zoey off outside her apartment.
Zoey was worried Caspian couldn’t hold the wedding as promised.
She offered, “Caspian, let me know if you have financial difficulties. I hope for Willow to have a proper
wedding, too.”
“You? Do novelists have deep pockets? Caspian asked calmly.
“Hmph! Are you looking down on me? I’m a pretty well-known author. I can earn up to tens of
thousands a
month!” Zoey replied proudly.
Caspian was surprised. “Oh, you can earn that much?”
He was adept in military affairs but didn’t understand much about matters like this.
“It’s common. Authors who are more popular can even earn up to hundreds of thousands a month,” she
“Oh, I see. I’ve learned something today. But I’m not short on money,” said Caspian.
“You are more nice than wise. You’d better organize a proper wedding. If you fail and end up
embarrassing Willow, I won’t forgive you!”
With that, she entered her apartment:
Willow joined Southlake Corporation the next day.
Miranda dared not slack off because of her identity and, of course, Caspian’s instructions. She
personally briefed Willow about the corporation.
The other employees noticed how attentive she was toward Willow. So, they followed suit.
Word spread like wildfire. Before long, everyone knew Willow was now the project director of Southlake
Corporation.
Many tried to approach her.
The Stewart family was greatly shocked when they heard about it. They would never have expected
one of their family members to work at Southlake City’s largest company.
It was all the more surprising for Alicia and Henry.
They witnessed Willow leaving the interview venue with a crestfallen look. Yet, she got the job!
Alicia now believed Caspian had supernatural abilities. Everything he said seemed to come true.
Marilyn had complex feelings. She had driven Willow out of Stewart Group.
Who would’ve known she would become Southlake Corporation’s project director? This position had
better prospects than working for the Stewart family.
As the largest corporation in the city, countless people longed for the position Willow held.
Although the corporation had stopped collaborating with them, her granddaughter was now the project
director.
At that thought, Marilyn immediately called for a family meeting. It was to discuss how they could
approach Willow for collaboration.
“As you all know, Willow is now Southlake Corporation’s project director. Let’s brainstorm and think of
an idea to gain her favor,” said Marilyn.
“Forget it, Grandma. She’ll never agree to it,” said Alicia.
“Perhaps she will if we pleaded with her?” asked Marilyn.
Alicia replied, “We’ve been giving her the cold shoulder. We’ve also looked down on her and Caspian.
“Now, she’s holding a high position. We should be thankful she’s not giving us a hard time. She’ll never
help us.”
“If only I had known, I wouldn’t have talked to Willow like that.” Marilyn deeply regretted her actions.

she continued, “This is no trivial matter. No matter what, we must get her help.”
“Grandma, remember when you chased them out? Caspian has mentioned we should forget about
getting help from Willow if anything happens. If we plead with her now, your prestige…” said Henry.
“I’m old now. I won’t plead with her personally, of course. You and your sister are the best candidates
for
this. If Willow helps us, you two will get the credit.”
“But Grandma, I declared I wouldn’t ask them for help. It’s too embarrassing to go back on my words
now.
I’m not going,” Henry said anxiously.
“Yeah, me too. It hurts my pride when I think of how she’ll shower me with insults.” Alicia didn’t feel like
begging Willow either.
“Pride? Pride is worth nothing. You shouldn’t have been so harsh in the first place. You are cousins.
“If you admit your mistakes, she will surely consider our pleas. It’ll be easier to ask her for a few
projects
then.
“Whether or not the Stewart family can rise to fame depends on the outcome.
“By hook or by crook, you must get her to agree to our collaboration. Figure out what you do to
achieve that!” Marilyn replied.
Alicia and Henry had no other choice even though they were reluctant to comply.
Sylvia finished her tasks and returned to Dhord City, the capital of Diatoran.
Caspian’s wedding was a few days away. Although most arrangements were in place, she thought it
could
be more extravagant.
The next day, she made an appointment with the heirs of several elite families.
Those who attended were reputable in Diatoran. They were also as rich as Croesus.
Among them were Jordan Carr, Felix Stein, Zac Giles, Harris Lloyd, and Sean Lawson. They were all
the
eldest sons of their respective families.
These heirs were filthy rich.
Still, they never thought they could meet someone like Sylvia.
Sylvia went straight to the point. “Lord Caspian and Ms. Stewart’s wedding will be held at Jade Dragon
Grand Hotel in Southlake City. It’s on the 30th of this month.
“You’ve been hoping to meet him, haven’t you? Now’s your chance. You’re all invited to his wedding.”
“I’ll gladly attend Lord Caspian’s wedding and offer my blessings. I’ll also prepare a priceless gift!” said
Jordan.
“It’s my utmost pleasure to receive an invitation to Lord Caspian’s wedding,” said Felix.
“I’ll certainly attend the wedding. I can finally meet Lord Caspian,” Zac agreed.
“Lord Caspian is a great warrior. We’re living in peace thanks to him. I’ll definitely be present,” said
Harris.
“Others will envy me if they know I can attend Lord Caspian’s wedding. Not everyone gets the chance
to
attend!” exclaimed Sean.
They had taken their stands.
Their families were greatly honored. However, they knew their families were nobodies to Caspian.
Lord Caspian was the guardian of the country. He won many battles and could hold back an entire
army
on his own. He could erase any elite family with a single word.
It was a great chance for them to get to know Caspian. It was more than what they cou. vish for.
If they could leave a good impression on Caspian, their families would benefit from it, too. One word
from
him was enough to resolve many problems.
“We haven’t decided on which limousine to use. It’s time for your luxury cars to see daylight. You may
save on the gifts,” said Sylvia.
