The Agent’s Badboy

Chapter 45 The day he made a promise

“She has been having nightmares, Yegor, she needs you.”

Margot was reporting to Yegor when he called. She checks in with him every day but he kept on stalling to go to her.

“Karla is a strong woman, I’ll be there as soon as I can.” He retorted wanting nothing more than to take her back to his mansion.

The older woman has been talking to him about Karla, how she kept on having nightmares about her ex-husband who’s still in prison. Yegor had called Luka and he confirmed the nightmares, telling him that if he could sneak into the prison and kill the bastard he would do exactly that.

“She’s getting thinner, she’s pregnant Yegor. She’s too stressed out… it’s for the baby.”

“Right, just hang on a couple of more days. I’m finishing up everything here then I’ll come and get her. I’ll carry her out of the apartment if I have to.”

Margot smiled hearing his words, he would do the right thing, she knows it. She just hopes he would finish everything sooner.

It was days later, just before she was about to go to bed when Karla received a phone call from the prison where her ex-husband was being sentenced. Her heart raced thinking that he had somehow gotten out of prison. But she was not ready when they said that her abusive ex-husband had passed away in his cell from a stroke.

“A stroke?”

“Yes, mam it’s the preliminary finding from our doctor here, the coroner will autopsy his body for the official cause of death.”

“Right,”

Karla was still on the phone when suddenly Yegor came into her bedroom. It has been days, maybe even more than a week. She hasn’t been counting the days since she left him.

“… okay, I’ll have my lawyer do his thing.” The woman didn’t know what to say, she didn’t know how to react to the news and handle his appearance at the same time, Yegor looked calm and handsome as always.

Her mind finally clicked when he nodded.

She hangs up on the call and quickly goes to the bathroom and pukes out her dinner.

“You killed him.”

It wasn’t even a question, she was stating the fact just by looking at him.

Yegor didn’t answer her. He gave her a glass of water when she finished cleaning herself. She tried to get him to answer but he pulled her close and told her that he misses her.

“I’m taking care of you, it’s what I do for my loved ones. For you, for our baby. Now, would you please go home with me?”

In all those days being parted from him, she had spent nights woken up from her nightmares and mornings throwing up because of her pregnancy. She missed him, she missed being held in his strong arms and she missed being taken care of by her drug lord.

“What makes you think it’s okay for you to kill him?”

She hates that she was liking the fact that he had taken an extra step to make sure that she wouldn’t have her nightmare again.

“He had a stroke,”

“How do you know? did you kill him?”

She was battling herself as she was worried that they might open an investigation for her ex’s death.

“What gives you the right to kill my ex-husband? what if I wanted him to suffer behind bars?” she lied, the truth was she worry that one day he would be out and trace her down to end her life.

“Karla, I love you. Why don’t we rest and talk more in the morning?”

She tried to resist but her inside warms when he swooped her off her feet. Her handsome baby daddy carried her and lay her back to the bed and kissed her lips softly.

“Tell me, what’s with the nightmares? why now? we’ve parted when you’re on your job training but you didn’t have them. Is it because of the baby? hormones?” The sexy tattooed man asked, worried that she would need further checkups because of her pregnancy.

“I forgot to bring your pillow.” She snuggled closer to his broad chest, inhaling his scent making him chuckle sexily and rubbed her back then kissed the top of her head lovingly.

“I love that you’re so random.”

“I know.” She said unbuttoning his shirt and resting her cheek on his bare tattooed chest.

“Tell me, did he suffer?”

“He might have been for a couple of days, I think his health has been deteriorating must be something he ate…”

Yegor kept on telling her about how her ex got food poisoning and explicitly telling her that he suffered badly and probably wish he was beaten to death instead.

The small little details to his explanations were making her sigh and rest deeper in his arms.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“How’s Gus?” he asked telling her that the conversation about her ex was done.

“Margot is feeding him, she would even re-heat his canned food. So, obviously, she’s his favorite person now.” She rubbed his abs while she lay close to him, so close as if she wanted to make a dent on him.

“Margot has been doing a lot actually, I’m sure she’s been reporting me to you.”

“Kiska… I thought we’re going to discuss things tomorrow?”

“I’m hungry, would you get me some cornflakes and ice cream in the fridge.” She sits up and looked at him. Karla wanted him and cursed her hormonal self for being so sexual when she needs to hate him for acting as her savior and killed the man she wanted dead the most. Cruelly.

He’s too fucking perfect.

She thought as she watches her tall Russian drug lord going to the kitchen to fetch her night cravings.

Years Karla had wished she pulled the trigger on her ex, but the fact that he’s an officer of the law just like herself might put her behind bars. It might not matter if it was self-defense, she might be put under investigation and would need to describe all the bad things he’d done to her just to defend herself.

“Hey, sorry but Gus followed me.”

“It’s okay, come here, Gus…” she patted the empty space to her side and he started licking his paw after taking his place next to his human mom.

“So, what do you do with this? do you want me to get the milk?”

“What? no… come sit and let me show you the proper way of eating cornflakes.” Karla waited until he sits next to her Gus, then put the cornflakes into the bowl.

The drug kingpin smiled when she spooned him the chocolate caramel fudge goodness with the extra light crunchy feels.

“I think I’ve been eating it wrong my whole life.”

“Right?! don’t tell me I never tell you any good secrets.” She winked at him and spooned herself the ice cream, topped with her favorite cornflakes.

They both talk and smothered Gus with their warmth until he got up and leave the couple with his lazy catwalk. Yegor closes the door after Gus and strips himself to his boxers.

“Okay, now you really need to rest.”

She almost choked when she gulped down on her water and saw her sexy man with a bandage on his right thigh.

“What happened to you?”

“Ardian, we’re bonding.” He said joining her under the cover

“This male bonding thing was he receiving the same kind of love?”

“Are you worried about him? do you want to call him?”

“You’re so delectable when you’re jealous.” She pulled him down for a kiss which turned hot in seconds.

“Tell me something…”

“Kiska, sleep… we’ll talk in the morning. We have our whole life to ourselves. I would never let anyone hurt you, I promised.” He wrapped her tighter in his arms and kissed her hair lovingly.

He knows that she’s tired, with the news, the pregnancy, and him barging back into her life. He wanted her to rest, he knows she’s been having trouble sleeping.

“I love you so much.”

“I love you too.” She closes her eyes while her heart beats in content as their bodies were tangled between the sheets.

That night they didn’t even talk about why she left him. One thing she knows was that she needed him. She also realized that he would do things his way whether she likes it or not, and that he would protect her no matter what.

And with that understanding, she slept cozily in the arms of the man she loves, while the mob baby daddy watches her and felt the peace he has been searching for all of his life.
