Chapter 481 Close Relationship
“Hyman? The husband of Nina?”
Alexa knew very little about Hyman.
She had only seen Hyman twice before, but her impression of Hyman was not very
good.
“Nina won’t let it go so easily.”
Hyman had a company under his name, and he was doing well. His strength in the
industry was not to be underestimated.
“Several big clients of Hudson Group have been taken away by them.”
Alexa nodded and was more guarded against Hyman.
For the next period of time, everyone in the Duran family cared about Thalia.
Christina treated Finley as her own son, so she valued Thalia very much. She had
sent many gifts and even invited a professional team to take care of Thalia.
Finley arranged a VIP ward for Thalia. When he had no work to do, he was almost
always by Thalia’s side.
“Dr. McMillan, when can you let me leave the hospital? I’m quite good.”
“Not now. Your attending physician did not allow it.”
“He has already allowed it. He said that you were the one who didn’t allow it,” Thalia
said.
Finley didn’t feel guilty at all.
“I was worried.” Finley pinched Thalia’s face gently. “I can see you often if you are in
the hospital.”
“But I am bored.”
“Then let’s go downstairs for a walk.”
“No need.”
Thalia lay back on the bed and sighed.
“I want to drink wine.”
Finley didn’t say anything and looked at her quietly.
Thalia sensed that something was wrong and calmly changed her words.
“I’m just thinking about it. I don’t want to drink wine now.”
“What do you want to have for dinner?”
“I made an appointment with Alexa in the afternoon to choose the wedding dress. I’ll
eat outside tonight.”
Finley was worried and told her to stay safe.
“I know. I know.”
Thalia nodded repeatedly.
“You’re garrulous.”
“Are you complaining that I am annoying?”
There wasn’t much change in Finley’s tone, but it sounded a little aggrieved.
It was as if the one pregnant wasn’t Thalia, but him.
“I’m not annoyed.”
Thalia waved her hand to let Finley lean over.
She hooked her arm around his neck and kissed him.
“I haven’t told my parents about my pregnancy yet. But I don’t intend to
tell them,” Thalia said.
Finley frowned.
“You can’t hide it.”
“Wait until I can’t hide it.”
Thalia suppressed her emotions.
“Of course, I like this child. But my mother may not be. You know that she trusts
Chuck very much,” Thalia said.
It was because of this that Thalia felt that they could do anything.
“My mother trusts Chuck very much. She believes whatever Chuck says.”
“Don’t think about these annoying things.”
Finley stroked the engagement ring on her finger.
“I’m going to meet Chuck tonight.”
“Huh?”
“I want to talk about business with him.”
Thalia understood his intention. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
When Thalia went to choose the wedding dress in the afternoon, Thalia
told Alexa about it.
“Are you worried about Dr. McMillan?”
“I’m not worried about him. He is quite tough,” Thalia replied.
The pride in her tone was not fake at all.
“We have to ask Dr. McMillan to deal with Chuck. Otherwise, he will
always have some evil ideas that he should not have,” Alexa said slowly.
“Why did Chuck come to me?”
Thalia was puzzled.
Thalia said, “I don’t have any value, do I? There are many beautiful and rich girls in
New York with better conditions than me. He clearly knows that I have a fiancé, but he
still deliberately came to pester me.”
“Terrence said that Chuck and Hyman have cooperation. He should be on
the same side as Nina.”
“So, Chuck wants to rope in the Crompton family to deal with you?”
“I can’t rule out such a possibility.”
Alexa had already compromised a lot.
Thalia sneered, “I already knew that he had bad intentions.”
They chatted for a while, and the designer came to measure Thalia’s size.
“I’m just over a month pregnant now. It’s not too obvious yet.” Thalia said with distress,
“By the time the wedding takes place, my waist will be
much thicker.”
“It doesn’t matter, Ms. Crompton. We can change the size at any time,”
the designer said with a gentle smile.
Thalia chatted with the designer about the wedding dress style.
Alexa was waiting for her at the side, and she suddenly caught a glimpse
of a familiar figure from the corner of her eye.
Hilda looked at her and took the initiative to come over and greet her.
“Ms. Rugg.”
Alexa replied politely and saw the diamond ring on her finger.
“What a coincidence,” Hilda smiled gently.
“I came with a friend to choose a wedding dress.”
Hilda glanced at Thalia and had some impression of Thalia.
“Is this Dr. McMillan’s fiancée?”
“Do you know me?” Thalia was a little surprised. “We haven’t seen each
other before…”
“Dr. McMillan often mentions you in the hospital. That’s why I know you.”
Hilda was envious.
“Everyone is very envious of you. I didn’t expect to see you today.”
“Oh, hello.” Thalia nodded.
“Is Damian married?”
“Yes. Not long ago, he got married to Ms. Molina.” Alexa nodded.
“It’s pretty good. He caused quite a stir at that time,” Hilda said
indifferently.
That press conference had completely humiliated the Peters family.
Although Jeffrey and Erica had brought Damian to apologize later on, Hilda was still
quite annoyed.
“I deleted his contact information. I haven’t had the time to congratulate them.”
“Ms. Rugg, if you need it, I can pass on a message for you.”
As soon as Alexa finished speaking, a man came over and held Hilda.
“Are you done?” He asked.
“Yes. Have you arranged the wedding?” Hilda looked annoyed.
“Everything has been arranged according to your parents’ wishes.”
“OK.”
Hilda nodded and led the way.
“I’ve seen that man before. He’s Austin Bethell, the son of the Bethell
family. He worked with the Crompton Group once,” Thalia said.
“Hilda’s marriage with him looks like a business marriage alliance.”
Thalia nodded. “Indeed. But she is also quite pathetic. She has always been under
the control of her family and has chosen two men who she does not like.”
Alexa looked at Hilda’s back and felt a bit of sympathy for her.
When they finished choosing their styles and left the wedding dress store, Finley had
already followed Christina to the hotel.
Chuck had not expected Finley to come back. Chuck was surprised when
he sat down.
“Mr. McMillan, are you planning to become a businessman?” Chuck said.
“I don’t know much about it. However, my wife is good at it.”
Finley replied with a faint smile, his eyes sharp.
Chuck had always disliked his appearance.
“Dr. McMillan, I’ll have to trouble you with James’ illness. I will definitely
repay you greatly after he is cured.”
“Mr. Wilder, don’t be,” Christina smiled and said. “Why do you have to
thank Mr. Crompton’s son-in-law?”
Chuck could not answer for a moment, and he had to smile awkwardly. Finley
successfully talked about this business.
The business partner praised Finley greatly, and Chuck’s face turned livid.
“If not for you, I would have helped her.” Chuck deliberately said, “After all, I have a
‘close relationship’ with her.”
