Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Letitia fell on the ground, and even heard her wrist snap like a twig It was dislocated.

The pain had her breaking out in cold sweats, “Elgin, I swear I didn’t betray you…”

“Shut it!” Elgin peeled off his suit jacket and roughly threw it over Letitia. Her half-bare shoulders were a sight for his eyes only! And now, now Walden got his grubby hands on her!

Damn it! They all can go to hell!

“This is just great, looks like you’ve cozied up to your ex in bed,” Elgin’s forehead veins were throbbing, “Letitia, I really underestimated you!”

Walden was also slowly coming to his senses, blurting out in a panic, “Mr. Ramirez, nothing happened between Letitia and me, you’ve misunderstood!”

“You call this a misunderstanding?”

“I don’t know what happened,” Walden recalled, “I was clearly at the auction, how did I end up in this hotel room?” His memory was a blank slate

Struggling to remember, Walden only caught glimpses, “A waiter handed me a drink, I drank it, and then… everything went black. Next thing I know, I’m waking up here.”

Elgin snorted, “So he gets wasted and you just came in to take care of him?”

“No, that’s not it, I didn’t even know Walden was in the room!”

“Then what are you doing here, huh?

“…” Letitia’s words stuck in her throat, stunned. She wanted to find out who the father of her child was, that’s why she was lured here. But she couldn’t let Elgin know that!

“What’s the matter? Can’t answer that?” Elgin snapped, gripping her chin hard, “Answer me!”

Letitia looked up at him, her eyes welling up with tears, “Elgin, nothing happened between Walden and me. This is all. someone else’s plot to frame me! Elgin, if you don’t believe me, we can go to the hospital for a check-up right now! See if I’ve been touched by a man tonight!”

Walden quickly added, “I’ll cooperate with any tests.”

“Yes,” Letitia said with resolve in her eyes, “the innocent have nothing to hide!”

Elgin’s gaze swept back and forth between the two. Even if Letitia had the guts of a burglar, she wouldn’t dare betray him, but this scene had indeed unfolded.

“Fine, we’ll check, Elgin scoffed, “Letitia, don’t forget your mother is still in my hands!”

He grabbed Letitia by the shoulder and hauled her up. “Let’s go!”

“Letitia!” Walden called out anxiously, trying to follow.

“Come after us and you’re a dead man!”

Elgin moved swiftly, practically dragging Letitia along.

At the hospital, the results came back quickly – Letitia didn’t have any sex activity.

“I told you, there’s nothing between Walden and me.”

Elgin tossed the medical report in her face, the paper fluttering down to the ground

Letitia, he hissed through clenched teeth, “nothing happened because there wasn’t enough time, right? What if I had been five minutes later… what then, huh?”

Letitia laughed out of sheer rage, glaring at him, “How could I possibly have anything to do with Walden behind your back? He was my ex-fiancé who dumped me and went abroad. Now, we’re business rivals!”

Because that’s just the kind of woman you are, Letitia! A real piece of work!”

His words felt like needles piercing her heart, shattering her self-esteem.

Elgin’s face was a mask of fury, “You and Walden have been flirting right under my nose, you think I’m blind? I step away for one second, and you couldn’t wait to jump into bed with him

“Why insult me with these words… why,” Letitia closed her eyes, holding back tears, “I won’t get involved with another

man before our divorce!”

“Letitia, even after the divorce, you’re not allowed!”

She bowed her head in bitterness, “Yes, my life is in your hands.”

“That’s right! You owe me! You’re here to pay off the Sanders family’s debts!”

Letitia clenched her fists, suppressing her roiling emotions, her resolve to uncover the truth growing even stronger!

One day… she’ll throw the evidence in Elgin’s face, proving she never owed him anything!

That day will come!

Back at Ivory Towers, Elgin chucked Letitia into the bathtub.

Water splashed everywhere. Letitia choked several times, struggling to emerge from the water only to be pushed back down by Elgin.

“Get yourself cleaned up, Elgin said.

After a few repeats, Elgin was soaked too, but he didn’t care. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Letitia was out of strength, slumped over the edge of the tub.

“Listen up,” Elgin leaned down, gripping her chin, “the Ramirez Group is holding a press conference tomorrow to announce the launch of our new jewelry brand ‘Ramirez Romantica’. We’re going to compete directly with ‘Sunbeam Gems’ from the Sullivan Group.

So Letitia, if you and Walden dare to meet in secret again, you’ll be branded as corporate spies! Ramirez Romantica will overtake Sunbeam Gems, and when that happens… Walden’s going to have a bad time! I won’t let him off the hook!”

Hearing this, Letitia chuckled. Her amusement seemed to irritate Elgin, who tightened his hold on her. “What exactly are you laughing at?” he demanded.

She suddenly looked up at him, slightly mocking, “Elgin, are you jealous?”

He paused, replying disdainfully, “Jealous? Why would I!”

“But you sure look like a man crazed with love, Letitia laughed at herself, “You don’t love me, so why are you so mad?

“Because you’re mine, even if you die, you’ll be mine!”

Letitia reached up, gripping his wrist, provoking him on purpose, “Elgin… with your possessiveness over me, I’m scared you’ll fall for me one day.”

“The entire world’s women could die off, and I still wouldn’t touch you!”

Elgin shook off her hand and stormed out.

Letitia breathed a sigh of relief. She had to be more careful from now on, not to let Shela’s trap succeed again.

At the Ramirez Group.

The launch of “Ramirez Romantica went off without a hitch, with Elgin himself in attendance, and Samson there too. This is basically a shout-out that the Ramirez Group is focused on their jewelry brand “Ramirez Romantica”!

The moment the news hit the streets, the Sullivan Group’s stock took a nosedive straight to rock bottom.

In the staff canteen, Letitia was having lunch while watching the live stream of the press conference.

“Eating just that, huh?” Vidonia plopped down with her tray, eyeing Letitia’s plate, “Not a single piece of meat in sight?”

like veggies

“Cut the crap, I know you’re broke. Stop fronting.”

With that, Vidonia forked over her chicken wings and beef onto Letitia’s plate.

Letitia was a bit flustered.

“Go ahead, you’re too skinny.”

“Vidonia…”

“Call me a sucker.” Vidonia poked at her food, “I’m basically throwing myself at you, making sure you’re taken care of.”

Letitia’s eyes welled up, and she hugged her tight, “Vidonia, I’m so lucky to have you.”

“Let me ask again, Letitia, Vidonia said solemnly, “Do you still want me to be your friend?”

She nodded furiously, “Yes! Absolutely!

“Alright then, Vidonia said, “from now on, no more ghosting me, got it?”

“Got it.”

Swiftly holding back her tears, Vidonia spoke with a hint of disdain, “Pull yourself together, Letitia, don’t cry”

Letitia flashed a sweet smile at her.

“Look at you, still can smile, huh?” Shela sauntered over, “Letitia, if I were you, I’d be too mortified to show my face. around here.”
