TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Pulling the dagger out, his cloth already stained with her blood,

” Goodbye, Medusa. I hope to see you soon… back in hell! ” He spits in disgust.

With the dagger still dripping blood, Corbin extended his arm and the orb reappeared. And then he set off, resuming his search for the heart.

” Lucifer ” Phoenix called out to the face of the Devil and his eyes widened in horror.

And for the first time, he felt fear and his Golden heart started beating wildly. His name was his prestige, his honor, and hearing it from the mouth of a mere mortal was his weakness. It made him insecure.

Since the first King of the Dark Genies began up until now, no one has ever known or found any of their names.

So how did she figure out his name? How?

Seeing the shock on his face, Phoenix snorted and glanced at Axion who was smirking.

So his name was Lucifer after all. For once they thought that since he normally uses the title ‘Devil’, his name will be something different. But now it all makes sense;

The King of all Dark Genie was purposefully using Devil as one of his titles so he could confuse them into thinking that his name was far from being Lucifer.

But now, they all know his tricks and his name. The more his heart throbbed, the easier and faster it was for Corbin to track it down.

As Corbin got to a cave, as if it could hear the pumping heart of the Devil, the orb in his palm stopped floating and glowed brightly before evolving into nothing but air. Corbin beamed and immediately dashed into the cave.

And there it was at the extreme. The Golden Heart of the Devil, pumping fast and unsteady with different dark forces surrounding the cave and guarding it.

” Well since you have already figured out my name… this is going to be the end for you, Phoenix! ” The Devil thundered and immediately, Axion tugged Phoenix behind him and stood like her protective shield against the beast.

He wasn’t going to let anything or anyone harm his mate and child. He was ready to protect them even if it means giving up his life.

The King of all Dark Genie was yet to attack when a huge, strong chain out of nowhere, fastened around him and hauled him back. Both him, Axion, and Phoenix became surprised and they all turned to see who it was.

” Aunt Glinda! ” Axion and Phoenix beamed happily.

Right behind the Devil was Glinda holding the chain firmly. She was using it to hold back the beast from using his powers until Corbin successfully destroys his heart.

The King of all Dark Genie snarled in anger and tried breaking from the tight grip of the chain but Glinda fastened it even more. And to make sure, he doesn’t break free, Axion and Phoenix rushed to her and helped her hold the chain.

Corbin seeing he wouldn’t make it out alive if he is to go to the extreme of the cave to get the heart due to the strong forces protecting it, decided to try another way.

With his eyes closed and his Genie sixth sense fully alerted, he was able to draw a straight aim to the heart. Standing at the entrance of the cave, he followed his plot and aimed the dagger straight to the end of the cave.

When the King of all Dark Genie saw that he couldn’t break from the chain, his furry reached its peak and his eyes flared up in burning rage.

” Enough! ” He roared angrily and with only one snap, he ripped the chain holding him apart and sent Glinda, Axion, and Phoenix flying and crashing to the floor.

” Phoenix ” Axion got up immediately when he heard her loud yelp of pain. He rushed to her and squatted before her, helping her sit up.

” Are you ok? ” He rasped in worry and she nodded slightly. It turned out that when she crashed, she did with her stomach but luckily, nothing happened.

” I have heard enough of you mortals insulting and challenging my authority over all of you! ” The Devil bellowed and to the trio’s shock, he started growing bigger and bigger and bigger until he turned into the terrifying giant he was at the beginning of the story.

Axion immediately helped Phoenix stand, pulling her to himself and wrapping his hands around her to protect her.

” Now, I am going to back you all pay! ” The Devil’s voice was followed with a loud, earth-quaking thunder which sent shivers down, Glinda, Axion, and Phoenix.

He walked up to them, his steps making the ground shake and crack. Axion’s eyes widened in horror when he raised his huge leg to squash him and Phoenix with his foot and immediately, he pushed Phoenix away making her roll to the ground away from the beast.

” Axion!!! ” Phoenix and Glinda yelled at the top of their voices and just when the Devil’s foot was about to crush Axion, the dagger that Corbin aimed finally penetrated through the Golden heart smoothly, slicing it into two.

The King of all Dark Genie halted on his track when he felt an excruciating pain pierced through his chest and he bawled loudly. He understood what was going on immediately.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

His heart has been destroyed, his powers gone!

” No, my heart! My Golden heart! ” He screeched in pain as he could feel his whole powers leaving his body all at once.

” No!!! ” His loud cry boomed the whole Lone Forest and he immediately turned back to human. At an instance, his entire power left him and he slumped to the floor like a weakling, whimpering in pain.

Corbin arrived at the scene almost immediately.

” Axion ” He called and Axion turned. He immediately threw the Golden Dagger to him and Axion caught it.

Staring at the Devil before him with all the hatred and anger he has for him in his heart, Axion tightened his grip on the dagger.

” This is for all the pain you have caused me, my mate, and my family! ” He raised the dagger and before the King of all Dark Genie could say anything, he drove the dagger straight into his chest.

The Devil’s eyes almost popped out in horror as he glared at Axion who was smirking.

” This isn’t the end Axion. I… will surely come…. back for you… I will make you pay! This I promise you! ”

Axion shut him up by stabbing the dagger into his chest again, twisting it while he screeched and yelled in pain, his blood oozing out.

Seeing he was finally dead, Axion allowed the tears he has been holding back to tumble down. It was tears of anger, the anger of all the pain that this beast of a genie made him and his Phoenix go through. He turned to Phoenix whose tears were also rolling down freely. He walked up to her and she immediately pulled him into a tight hug which he returned.

” It’s finally over Axion, the Devil is finally dead. We don’t have to worry about our baby, you don’t have to worry about turning into a beast. Everything is finally over ” She chuckled as tears of joy poured down. Axion kissed her hair, tightening the hug.

Corbin walked up to Glinda who hugged him.

” Thank you so much, my dear. Thank you for finding the heart right on time ” Corbin pulled out and cupped her face.

” I promised you I’d find it didn’t I? I don’t go back to my promise you know ” He bragged and Glinda chuckled, placing a kiss on his forehead.

” Bless you, my dear ”

” Corbin ” A voice called and he turned only to see Axion and Phoenix standing before them. Before he could say anything, Axion hugged him immediately.

” Thank you so much, big brother. You saved my life ” Hearing Axion call him big brother, unexplainable happiness flushed down Corbin and he returned the hug. This is all he ever wanted, for Axion to forgive him and accept him as his brother.

” It’s nothing little bro. You know I’d anything for you ” He patted his hair and Axion giggled, breaking the hug.

Just when the thought everything was finally over, the Devil let out a low groan and slowly opened his eyes. Seeing as they all were hugging and laughing happily, he grinned evilly.

He was going to die, that’s for sure. But before he does, he needs to ruin their happiness. He slowly shoved the dagger out of his chest and staggered up, crawling up to them.

Due to how happy they all were, none of them saw or noticed him coming. He staggered up to Phoenix knowing that her death will be the most painful for all of them.

And from her back, he raised the dagger to stab her but Axion turned randomly and saw him and his eyes broadened in horror.

” Phoenix! ” He yelled out, alerting all of them, and just when she was about to get stabbed, he stood in the way, and a shoving sound can be heard making all of them stiffen in shock.

Seconds passed with Axion expecting to feel pain on any part of his body but surprisingly he didn’t. It was then that he looked up only to see a figure standing before him like a protective shield, the dagger poked out from its back.

It was none other than…
