TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

AT THE HOSPITAL

Phoenix was resting on the bed with Glinda beside her, squeezing her hand reassuringly as they wait for the doctor to come back with the test result. Corbin was also present. The door opened and the doctor finally entered. Seeing the doctor, the tension in Phoenix only increased.

” Doctor, what does the result say? ” Glinda asked and the doctor passed the test result to her. As she opened the envelope, a smile crept up the doctor’s lips.

” Congratulations Miss, you’re three days pregnant ” She announced and shock went down Phoenix whose eyes almost popped out.

” What?! ” She exclaimed and the doctor chuckled.

” I’m… pregnant? ” It was more like a question as she stared down at her tummy. Glinda on the other hand was more than happy to hear the good news. She immediately hugged Phoenix.

” Congratulations my dear. Axion will be more than happy to hear this ” She chuckled happily.

” How is that even possible? ” Was the only question going on in Phoenix’s mind.

Later that same day, Phoenix was discharged and she was on her way to see Axion, so she can share the good news with him.

She was happy but also not happy. Happy with the fact that she’s pregnant but sad with the fact that it has to be now when everything isn’t getting on well.

She almost made the biggest mistake of her life by wanting to strike a deal with that devil, without knowing there was another life growing inside of her. Was this natures way of stopping her from ruining her life?

She was nervous to the core and also scared of how Axion will react. Will he even understand?

Exhaling deeply, she opened the door and entered. Axion’s face beamed instantly on seeing like he has been waiting for her to come. But then he frowned when Phoenix headed straight to release his bounded hands.

Typically, his name was the first thing she calls whenever she enters so why didn’t she do it today?

Standing before him,

” Axion ” Phoenix finally called and Axion’s face lit up. He pulled her into a bone-crushing hug which Phoenix gladly returned. She needed it, at least to calm her racing heart.

” You missed me? ” She chuckled and Axion nodded. He broke the hug and cupped her face, stroking it with his big thumb while she closed her eyes, a tiny smile on her lips. Seeing her smile, Axion followed her and smiled too.

Opening her eyes, Phoenix held his hand and moved it from her face down, and placed it on her stomach. Axion stared at his hand on her stomach before looking up at her with a slight frown.

Phoenix breathed out and gulped nothing.

” Axion ” She called, staring intently into his purple confused eyes.

” I’m pregnant ” She finally dropped the bomb and Axion’s eyes broadened in surprise. Even as a beast, he understood what it means for a woman to be pregnant. His Phoenix is pregnant with his child, he’s going to be a father soon. Waves of happiness scourged through him.

” Baby! ” He growled for the first since he turned into a beast and Phoenix’s eyes widened on hearing that.

” Axion, did… did you… just say, baby? ” She chuckled in disbelief.

” Baby ” Axion mumbled and she hugged him like her life depended on it. She was more than happy to hear him say that. It meant he understood and he was happy, despite being a beast. She doesn’t need to be scared anymore.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

But then, something hit Axion’s mind, and his once happy face gloom up. He immediately pulled out of the hug and crawled away from Phoenix a bit who was surprised by his sudden change of mood.

” Axion ” She called but he snarled at her in anger and turned, backing her.

It just drawn to him that he was still a beast who is locked up and as a beast, he won’t be able to take care of Phoenix. He is supposed to be by her side. Who will bathe her like he normally does? Who will carry her and read her bedtime stories if she requests one? Who will cook for her and carry her to and fro when she becomes too lazy to even move.

Thinking about all these, he looked down, angry and ashamed that he won’t be able to be with her in this state. He already failed as her mate and as a father.

Phoenix understood what was wrong and slowly hugged him from the back. He tried shrugging her off but she hugged him tighter.

” Don’t try to push me away Axion, please ” She mumbled and he let out a sad sigh. He turned to face her, his eyes filled with regret. Phoenix placed his hand on her tummy, pouting sadly.

” Baby ” Axion growled again and she couldn’t help but chuckle.

” Yes, baby. Our baby ” She sniffed back her happy tears.

” Even as a beast we will take care of our baby together. And don’t you worry, I’d find a way to turn you back to normal so we can be together again. I’m going to do whatever it takes to bring you out of this suffering and pain cause…

” I can’t bear to see you like this. I love you so much, Axion, so much ” Her voice broke as her eyes flooded with tears.

Axion too couldn’t hold back his tears. He held her neck and tugged her close before gently claiming her lips. Phoenix closed her eyes and their tears rolled down in unison, mixing up.

Just then, something unexpected happened, something extraordinary.

When their tears mixed up as they kissed, a tiny glint of light can be seen on Axion’s forehead. The more the kiss affectionately, the more the glint turns into a brighter glow. It started circulating through his body and before you knew it, it covered his body.

They both didn’t even notice because they were lost in the kiss. Their kiss was filled with every emotion in them. And then like magic, Axion’s beastly body gradually cleared up and he turned back to human.

They both slowly broke the kiss and the glow died down.

Waves of shock, happiness, and awe flushed down Phoenix and her eyes dilated greatly, and her lips gaped.

” A… x… i… on…” She stammered.

” Oh my God! ” She exclaimed, running her hands on his face.

” You’re human again, you’re… human again ” She chuckled in disbelief. Axion was about to speak up but then, he instantly grew weak and before Phoenix could hug him, he slumped to the floor and blacked out.
