TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Phoenix was shocked to the bone at what Axion said.

” What?! ” She yelled at the top of her voice.

” Are you nuts or what?! ”

” No, you’re talking nonsense Axion, nonsense! ”

” You don’t believe me, do you? ” Axion chuckled.

Snapping his finger, a document appeared on the table. He took it and stood up, walking over to Phoenix before stretching it out to her. Phoenix grabbed the document from him.

Flipping through the pages, her eyes widened in great horror. She froze on the spot, staring at what was written on the page and her signature which was at the bottom.

” No ” She nodded in disbelief.

” No, this can’t be true ”

” This is just a lie you made up. You’re lying to me, you’re playing tricks on me! ” She yelled tearing off the page and tearing it to pieces.

” You’re a liar! ” She threw the piece to Axion’s face, her eyes flooding up with tears.

” I am going to leave this place and you can’t stop me ” She snapped and rushed to the entrance door which was wide open before but immediately she got there, it shut close by itself. She grabbed the handle, trying to pull it open, all to no avail.

” You stupid door, let me go! ” She yelled in anger, kicking the door with all her might. Seeing as the door refuse to open, she pressed her lips together, trying to swallow back her tears. She turned swiftly, glaring at Axion, her eyes burning in anger and hatred.

She walked up to him and landed a hot slap on his face before grabbing his collar.

” Why are you doing this to me? What did I ever do to you?! ” She yelled to his face, grabbing his collar even tighter. Axion held her hand and pulled it away from his collar.

” Mind how you talk to me Phoenix or else…

” I don’t care! ” Phoenix cut him off.

” Tell me… what did I ever do to you Axion? I even helped your Mom, why are you doing this to me, why?! ” She asked, finally letting her tears fall.

” You… you’re no different from my aunt. I trusted you. I thought you sincerely wanted to help me. Why did you make me sign those documents, why come up with such an agreement?! ”

” First… you insulted me when I couldn’t heal your Mom and now… this, why? ”Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

” Tell me Axion! ” She yelled, hitting him repeatedly on the chest. Axion lost his cool and grabbed her hands, pushing her roughly and pinning her to the wall, as his eyes changed to purple.

” Because I hate you Phoenix! ” He yelled to her face.

” I detest you, you disgust me, everything about you disgusts and irritates me Phoenix! ” He growled in rage and one could see the hatred in his eyes and behind his voice.

” I lost respect for you the instant I saw you up there, half-naked and dancing before all those filthy and good for nothing men! I detest strippers and since you’re one of them… I detest you too! ” Phoenix could feel his hot, rasp and enraged breath fanning her face. Her lips parted in shock.

” But then… you, you’re my Red Phoenix… which means you’re bonded to me forever and there is… nothing, absolutely nothing I can do about it. I can’t even reject you ” Axion scoffed in pain.

” So since I can’t reject you… ” He grabbed her chin tight, tilting her head up.

” I’m going to make life miserable for you… so miserable that you’ll have no other option than to reject me yourself! ” He added amidst gritting teeth, letting go of her chin. Phoenix closed her eyes and tears rolled down her cheeks.

Axion let go of her hand and stormed off upstairs to his room. Immediately he left, Phoenix broke down in tears, slumping to the floor.

” What did I ever do to deserve this? ” Was the question that left her lips.

” How is it my fault that I’m a stripper? Why do people keep hating me? Is it a wrong thing to try to provide for myself and my mother, tell me? ”

” How is it my fault that my life is like this?! ” She yelled, already choking on her tears.

” Why is life being so unfair to me, why? ” She mumbled as she hugged her legs. She buried her face, hugging herself even tighter.

She stayed in that position, hugging herself and crying her eyes out for over 20 minutes. She was still sobbing when she felt something perch on her shoulder making her slowly raise her head.

Her eyes and face were now all swollen and red due to too much crying. She was surprised to see an eagle perched on her shoulder. Sniffing back her tears, she reached out her hand, and the eagle perched on it instead.

” Hey, little one, what brings you here? Did you lose your way, huh? ” She asked in a cracked voice, sniffing.

” Are you trying to find shelter? ” She rubbed the back of the eagle gently with her other hand.

” Or is life being unfair to you too just like it is to me? ” She scoffed. Managing to drag her feet up,

” Don’t worry, I’ll help you find shelter. Life won’t hurt you anymore since you came to me, ok? ” She smiled faintly.

” Phoenix ” She heard a voice call making her heart skip in fear thinking it was Axion. She turned swiftly but was surprised to see no one.

” That’s weird. I thought I heard someone calling ” She muttered to herself.

” Of course, I called you ” The voice said again.

” What was that? ” Phoenix asked, her eyes roaming around.

” Where did that voice come from? ”

” I’m right before you Phoenix ” The voice groaned and Phoenix glared at the eagle she was holding.

” Hold on. Don’t tell me you were the one who called me ” She eyed the eagle.

” Of course, it was me ” The eagle answered.

” Arghhh! ” Phoenix yelled, letting go of the eagle and it fell with a thud on the floor.

” Oh sorry, I’m so sorry ” She apologized immediately, picking the eagle up.

” I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to drop you off. Are you ok? ” She asked.

” I’m ok, don’t worry ” The eagle replied and Phoenix’s eyes widened in horror. She almost threw the eagle away again when,

” Don’t… drop me off again please, it hurts ” The eagle pleaded.

” Oh sorry ” Phoenix apologized again.

” You can fucking talk?! ” She exclaimed in shock.

” Yeah I can, are you surprised? ” The eagle chuckled lightly.

” Have I gone mad? ” Phoenix didn’t even know when the question left her lips.

” No, you haven’t. You’re perfectly fine ”

” Then how come I can hear you talk? ”

” That’s the power you possess as a Red Phoenix ” The eagle replied, perching on her shoulder.

” Do you also think I’m a Red Phoenix? ” Phoenix couldn’t help but ask.

” What do you think? Don’t you believe you are? ” The eagle asked back.

” Yeah, I don’t believe it. I mean, if I was, how come I never knew about it all these years and if I’m a Phoenix, how come I’m a stripper? ” She asked, pouting sadly as she sat back down on the floor.

” So many things remain unknown Phoenix. Sometimes… you have to figure it out yourself. Also, I think, a person’s way of living or what he or she does doesn’t define who the person is on the inside ” The eagle replied.

” You think? ” Phoenix asked, looking at it.

” I know. Take a look at yourself for example. Others think you’re a filthy stripper but I know that deep down you’re far from that. You aren’t a stripper by choice but by circumstances but you are a real Phoenix by heart ” The eagle replied and a broad smile slowly crept up Phoenix’s lips.

” You’re the first thing that has ever said something like this to me Mr. Eagle ” She said.

” What’s your name anyway? ” She asked.

” You can call me whatever you feel like ” The eagle shrugged.

” Since the word eagle starts with the letter ‘e’ and you’re so sweet, I think I’ll call you Ellie, how do you see that? ” Phoenix asked.

” I’m ok with it… master ” The eagle chuckled making Phoenix giggle happily. But her giggle and smile didn’t last long as she remembered something.

” Too bad I’m trapped here with Axion and I don’t know if I’ll be able to escape this place and visit my mom ” She sighed sadly.

” Believe in yourself, master ” The eagle said.

” Do you think I can escape? ” Phoenix asked.

” You’re a Phoenix… you can do anything ”

It felt as though what the eagle said was exactly what Phoenix needed to boost her morale. She stood up from the floor and slowly walked up to the entrance door.

” I think you’re right Ellie. If I’m a Phoenix like you said, then I can do anything, and escaping this place is nothing ” She mumbled, glaring at the door.

Tightening her fists, she closed her eyes. Just as she closed her eyes, she felt a rush of power run through her whole body.

” You can do anything Phoenix ” She said in her mind.

She immediately snapped her eyes open and without even knowing it, her eye color changed… to burning red…
