Chapter 11

There aren’t as many people at the theater as I thought, but that’s alright. It just means that I get to spend more time with her. Pearson is here with some chick. Plus there are like five other guys from the team. They all see me with Danny. She is a little more open tonight, I think it is because she is wearing a sweater. I got us some candy and popcorn. Neither of us wants soda so we forgo that. Before long we are sitting in the Action movie theater. Somehow all the guys that I saw in the lobby are in this theater. How do you convince that many chicks to see an action movie?

It isn’t until I see the opening credits that I see why. The newest heartthrob on the society pages is starring in this one. No wonder the chicks wanted to see this one. I look over at Danny and her eyes are glued to the screen. I lean over and whisper in her ear. “Please don’t tell me that you made me buy tickets to a movie so that you can daydream of the star.”

She chuckles. “Fine I won’t say it.”

I nibble on her ear. “I thought you were a good girl. But you’re really a bad girl aren’t you.”

“A girls gotta dream right?”

“Then I am just going to have to keep you so distracted that you can’t daydream.” I lick and nibble down her neck. She even seems to angle it a little better for me. I am just coming back up to her lips when the seat next to her is taken.

“What a coincidence running into you guys here?” Holy fuck I am going to kill him. Peters is dead now, he just doesn’t know it.

“Um, what are you doing here?” Danny fidgets a little and leans a little closer towards me. Well, at least that’s a good sign. Maybe she thinks he is some weird stalker.

He shrugs. “I just thought I would see a movie tonight. Crazy world huh.” Yeah, right fucker. You heard us talking about seeing a movie. You probably waited outside to see which one it was. Desperate mother fucker.

I can tell Danny isn’t comfortable making out in front of this guy so I have to cool it. I do keep my arm around her. At one point Pearson looks over at us and mouths what the fuck? Yeah, I am right there with you buddy. I seriously have no answer for that one. Peters needs to get a life and leave mine alone.

It helps a little that Danny keeps up her girlfriend act. She shares her candy with me and even puts a few pieces in my mouth. I nip at her fingers as she does. She lets out a giggle. She is either the best actress or she is really enjoying this.

I know we are going to be bombarded at the diner so this is the only place that we were supposed to have alone time. I guess I am just going to have to spend the night. Yeah, like it’s a chore. I have to come up with a good excuse though, with Courtney being cool I don’t know if I can pull it off. Ok, as cool as Courtney can be.

At the end of the movie, I try to pull Danny out of there before the lover boy follows but she insists on picking up our trash. “They pay people to do that.”

“Don’t be a dick. Pick up.” I hate when she calls me a dick. It’s not that it was that much to pick up. But now Peters is right behind us leaving the theater.

I throw the trash away and pull Danny into my arms. “So, what did you think of the movie?”

“Yeah, it kind of sucked. I think they are just getting the hype up for the star. I hate when they do that with a movie.”

I laugh. “I actually kind of liked it. It was simple. Not too complex to follow.”

“I think I just enjoy more of an adventure thing. You know, follow the clues. Solve the crime or whatever.” She shrugs.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

“Yeah, well we can’t all be as academically stimulated as you. I’m just a simple football player.”

She elbows me. “Yeah right. I know you’re smart. You just pretend to be an idiot.”

“Damn you caught me.” I smile and pull her closer. “Ready to eat.” I can feel Peters following, but I really just hope that he leaves.

“Yeah, I was afraid to eat at home.”

I cringe a little. “Yeah, I wouldn’t want to eat with that going on either.”

We walk the two blocks to the diner, talking about the movie and wouldn’t you know it the fucker follows us.
