Chapter 933
Chapter 933
Chapter 933 As soon as the door was opened, Violet sprang up from the sola and hurried over. Larissa entered the house first. When she looked up, the first thing she saw was Violet’s joyful face. Taken aback, Larissa greeted Violet immediately. “Mrs. Rogers!” “Hi!” Violet took some house slippers from the shoe cabinet and helped Larissa put them on. After that she then looked her up and down. “Lari, you’ve lost weight!” Violet exclaimed, her eyes shimmering with tears. Larissa laughed awkwardly and looked to Kevan for help. Violet’s reaction was too much for her to handle. She didn’t know how to comfort her.
“That’s enough.” Kevan interrupted the emotional moment. He grabbed Larissa’s hand from his mother’s and held it in his palm. “She would rather lose weight than gain it.” He wasn’t wrong in saying that, it’s just that he was too blunt. Larissa didn’t dare to agree and forced a dry laugh.. Kevan handed some tissues to Violet and said, “Today is a happy occasion. You shouldn’t spoil it by crying.” His words had an immediate effect and the tears disappeared from Violet’s eyes. She glared at him angrily. If Larissa wasn’t present, she would have taught Kevan a lesson. “Daddy! Mommy!” When he heard Kevan’s voice, Aster abandoned watching cartoons and ran over to them with bare feet. Anthony followed behind him with Aster’s slippers. “Aster, be a good boy and put on your slippers!” Larissa was stunned at this scene. In her memory, Anthony was friendly but usually serious and reserved. She couldn’t help feeling surprised at seeing him being so down-to-earth. Aster rushed into Larissa’s arms and sniffled, “Mommy!”
Anthony stopped in his tracks and smiled at Larissa. “Hello, Lari,” “Good evening. Mr. Rogers.” Larissa greeted Anthony as well. She patted Aster on the head and instructed him to put on his slippers. Anthony squatted down and arranged the slippers neatly in front of Aster, making it easy for him to put on. Larissa gripped Kevan’s hand more tightly. She was screaming inwardly at seeing the change in Anthony. This had to be an illusion and she was still in a dream. However, Kevan misunderstood her gesture. “Dad, don’t spoil Aster too much.” He knew Larissa hated it when elders pampered Aster excessively. She didn’t want to raise Aster to be a spoiled rich brat like Lana. “How can this be seen as spoiling him? I’m just arranging his slippers neatly.” Anthony defended himself. “That’s right, your father hasn’t done anything wrong!” Violet sided with her husband. Kevan’s expression turned cold. “If you two keep this up, I will take Aster away. I won’t let you two take care of him.” Violet held Aster in her arms protectively, like a mother hen guarding her chick. She tried to reason with Kevan, “We can’t allow that! Both of you need to work, so leaving Aster here with us would be the safest.” Kevan asked, “Are you going to raise another child to be like Bethany?” This hit a sore spot for Violet. Her face pale, she said reluctantly, “Alright, I understand. I will not spoll Aster, nor let your dad spoil him. Are you satisfied?” Kevan turned to Anthony. He straightened up and coughed awkwardly. “I won’t spall him either.” With their promises, Kevan squeezed Larissa’s hand, gesturing to her that the maller had been sellled. However, Larissa was bewildered. What’s going on? Why were everyone’s faces so serious?Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
