Chapter 5: We Take What We Need Separately

Macy is about to keep on speaking. Yusef asks promptly: “How much?”

“100 million dollars.”

“Not much.” Yusef sneers, “However, Miss Downey. Do you think you worth such a price?”

“I…” Macy chokes.

“Even if 100 million dollars is not much, I won’t give it to you for nothing.” He casually plays with his

cellphone and his eyes indicate his indifference, “Considering you left this morning without words, I

can’t feel any sincerity from you and such a way of doing things…”

He sneers, “I doubt if every Downey is the same. I think it is necessary for me to reconsider whether to

lend you the money or not.”

It goes exactly as she thought.

Before she set off, Sunny has reminded her that she may become the tribute to this anecdote and lose

anything if she wants to benefit from the Penn’s.

Macy’s face looks weaker and paler gradually, which makes her lips look even more vibrant.

After a long pause, Macy looks up into Yusef’s cold eyes. “Just forget about it, Mr. Penn. Since you

have made yourself so clear, I shouldn’t disturb you further. We are all adults and your hesitation is

completely reasonable. What happened last night is just what we took for our needs.

She takes her bag and leaves.

Just as one of her legs steps out of the room, a cold voice occurs from this man at her back, “Is this

your limit? It seems that Miss Downey is not so much worried about the Downey’s.”

She stops and clenches her fists.

She slightly calmed herself down before she put on her poker face and says, “Thank you for your time,

Mr. Penn.”

As she finishes, she straights up her body and walks out of the room.

The door is opened again shortly after it was closed. The secretary comes in holding a pile of

documents. “Mr. Penn, Eliot has contacted a few media agencies and they seem to withdraw all the

comments on Miss Downey immediately. Should we interfere?”

Yusef looks at the white China mug whose edge has the lip print of a lady on the table.

His gaze gradually turns deeper, he doesn’t mumble until a while has passed, “Leave this case for Eliot

to handle.”

“Ok.”

The secretary nods and it looks as if she wanted to add something. She speaks hesitantly: “Mr. Penn,

contrary to what has been reported, Eliot still has a certain feeling towards Miss Downey. If Eliot knows

the news was released intentionally, will he…”

Originally, it would be a great idea to use the power of media to make this woman find me, but

eventually…

Yusef stands up and pulls his tie. “Don’t care about Eliot too much.”

Macy comes out of the Penn’s tower and it has already been dark. A couple of reporters who has been NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“Miss Downey, is the Downey’s selling its stocks at a low price recently? The rumor that the Downey’s

She frowns because of all the noises from different directions. She pushes the cameras that are too

close to her face with her hands, and calmly cuts in: “Please do not make stories based on such

rumors without any evidence. Eliot and I have already broken up half a month ago. It has nothing to do
