Super Rich Man by kiang Chapter 44

It’s A Fake

“I don’t care about what you say,” Leon replied.

“As a Dani, I swear I will exact revenge on you! Once you step out of Oregon Avenue, my men will finish you off!”

The pedestrians started paying attention at Leon and Tommy.

“What happened? Did the young man beat up young master Tommy?”

“Emergency! Will he still be alive after harming a Dani?”

“The young man seems very brave but messing with the Dani family… he will not end well.” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

The people started talking about them, but Leon didn’t care. He took Rachel’s hand and entered the Pavilion.

Rachel didn’t expect Leon to be that powerful, it made her feel safe to be around him. But at the same time, she is anxious about Leon’s safety. The whole avenue is owned by the Dani family.

“This is the place for antiquities,” Leon told her.

He then asked one of the shopkeepers, “Please show us all of the best jade stones in this store.”

The store manager suddenly appeared. “Wait… weren’t you the one who just hit young master Tommy?” he asked. “I’m not going to sell you anything.”

“You are a famous jade seller in Oregon, are you not in for business?” Leon asked with a threatening smile.

“Please just visit the other stores,” the Pavilion manager requested. He is not going to sell Leon anything because he didn’t want to upset the Dani family.

He thought Leon is yet to know the Dani family’s supremacy. Does he think nothing will happen to him after beating Tommy?

“Mr Dani loves his grandsons greatly. If he knew his grandson was beaten to pulp here, he will be upset and look for me,” the manager explained in a low voice.

But Leon was unhappy. “You’re the only one to sell jade stones around here. I came from far away and you’re not willing to sell them?”

Leon knew the shop manager is fearful of the Dani family. He wanted to admit that he is the actual owner of the avenue and all the shops in it.

“I sincerely apologize, Sir. Please understand my circumstances,” the manager said in surrender.

“Leon, let’s get out of here, shall we? We can find the stones somewhere else,” Rachel tried persuading Leon in fear he will be caught in more trouble.

She didn’t want something bad to happen to Leon, or to put himself in danger since the Dani family owns Oregon Avenue.

“Fine, let’s go,” Leon agreed unwillingly.

Before he left, Leon stared sharply at the manager, causing him to shudder in fear. He has no idea why Leon stared at him that way.

When Rachel and Leon walked towards the shop exit, the sound of something breaking startled them.

It is the sound of a broken jade stone!

A round, white bamboo jade stone fell by their feet and broke into three pieces. It is unknown what caused the stone to fall, but it has nothing to do with Rachel and Leon.

“The two of you, stay where you’re at! Don’t move! Do you think you can leave after damaging an item?” the manager asked.

Leon turned to face him. “Now what? I’m not allowed to buy or leave empty handed?”

“I didn’t want to cause you trouble, but I saw you drop the stone with my very own eyes. You have to be responsible!” the Pavilion manager shouted accusingly.

Leon didn’t want to start a fight. He could easily pay for the damage, but that means admitting a mistake he didn’t do because he didn’t touch the stone at all.

“I have to go. None of you should make up fake accusations, otherwise you’ll regret it!” Leon said coldly.

“I saw it myself how both of you dropped the stone, and how close you are to it. Who else would it be if it wasn’t the two of you? Can the stone fall by itself?” the manager asked with annoyance.

“Let’s check the CCTV. If I was the one who dropped the stone, I would pay for the damages! If it wasn’t me, you’ll have to face the consequences!” Leon challenged him firmly.

The manager let out a small laugh. “Are you able to pay for the damages?” he asked Leon mockingly.

“How much does it cost?”

“Ten million dollars! You’ll never be able to pay for it!”

“That is a small amount for me, but I will not pay for it,” Leon stared sharply at the manager.

Leon didn’t drop the stone, so why does he have to pay for the damage?

The problem wasn’t about money, but a person’s responsibility to pay for it. A rich man wouldn’t waste his thoughts on something stupid!

“Small money? Your lies are bigger than the sky!” the manager replied with an angry face.

Leon has had enough of the manager. “Stop talking nonsense! Let’s check the CCTV.”

The Pavilion’s manager stood still and panicked.

If it’s true, Leon and Rachel didn’t drop the stone, then who is going to pay for the loss?

One trillion is a large amount; it is the sum of the store’s income for three months!

The young couple is his only way to earn money!

The manager’s face showed panic. “The CCTVs here are placed in the corners and wouldn’t have recorded everything. I have run this shop for over twenty years. I will not accuse you two for the small amount of one trillion!”

“Really? But I heard you say ten million dollars is a grand sum?” Leon asked, smiling.

The manager panicked and thought about the best way to face Leon. He knew for sure that the bamboo jade stone fell by itself, not because of Leon and Rachel.

“That… that was you who thought it was large!” he stuttered.

He scanned the store, currently filled with customers to avoid Leon’s stare. His panic grew worse.

“Everyone don’t believe what that man said. Obviously, he is trying to change the topic! He broke the jade stone! He must pay for the loss!” he shouted at his customers to put the blame on Leon.

Customers who believed him thought Leon won’t pay for the loss on purpose.

“Why does he not listen?”

“If he breaks an item in the store, he must pay for it! Karma goes around!” a customer said.

“Nowadays, young people are getting more shameless, not telling the truth and avoiding problems! What kind of man is he?!” the manager shouted angrily at Leon.

Leon wanted to throw up at his words.

“All of you better mind you own businesses. Why don’t you question the manager? He isn’t letting us see the store CCTV.” Leon countered.

“Obviously, it was you, and you’re trying to get away with it! You wont escape!”

“Since you wanted to humiliate me, I have no reason to protect your reputation. All the jade stones here are fake; priced at ten million dollars at most. I will hand all of them over to you as a gift!” Leon said with a cold smile.

The Pavilion’s manager was immediately silenced, he felt dizzy.

All his customers are shocked to know the stones are fake!

“That’s impossible! The Pavilion is a famous and established shop. All the goods sold here are of excellent quality!”

“True, I am a regular here, the shop offers high quality jade stones.”

“Just because you said so doesn’t mean we will side with you!”

“There is no doubt this young man is finding a reason to not pay!”

All the customers sided with the shop manager.

Leon doesn’t care about what they say, there is no point in trying to debate uneducated people.

Amongst the customers, an old man has been watching the situation in the shop, as if he is trying to find something. Unlike the others, he stayed quiet and didn’t voice his opinion at all.

Leon looked at the customers, and then his gaze was directed to a certain spot.

The customers are curious at what Leon is going to do next.

Suddenly, Leon bent down to pick a piece of jade from the floor and played it with his fingers.

What he did attracts the customers’ attention, including the old man. They waited in curiosity to see what Leon was doing with the stone.

“A fake is still a fake. It feels different to the touch,” Leon said, breaking the silence.

By holding the piece of stone in his hand, Leon could deduce its weight and price.

“Nonsense! It’s impossible for the Pavilion to sell fake stones! Don’t speak nonsense!” the manager shouted angrily.

“Oh, but different from you, what I just said is the fact!” Leon replied easily.

“If so, prove it to me! All the goods in this shop come from the Dani family, a large and famous group. They wouldn’t sell fakes!”

The Pavilion trusts that the products bought from the Dani family are authentic and high quality.

“I’m not going to debate with you. I can close your store today!” Leon said as he looked at the jade stone display.

“Prove it to me! If you can’t then it means you’re a liar!”

Leon ignored the manager’s rant and walked towards the glass display filled with jade stones.

“What are you doing? Stop! Stop your hands right now! You won’t be able to pay for the loss of everything in the display!” he screamed in fear. Leon will destroy the whole display.

He bolted towards Leon and stopped him from destroying the stones.

The customers were surprised; they thought Leon must be crazy. But the old man kept quiet and paid serious attention to Leon.
