Chapter 2 A Chaotic Engagement Party
Five years later, in the center of Glebey's bustling downtown, a lavish engagement ceremony was displayed on a shopping mall advertisement screen.
A man and a woman on the stage held their hands tightly, both beaming with happiness. The man looked dashing in his fancy suit, and the woman was radiant and stunning in her white dress.
Jocelyn, who was in a car, glared at the couple on the screen venomously through the window.
"Ernest Cloutier! Theresa Chavez!"
Jocelyn was surprised to learn that the two jerks were ready to tie the knot after five years together.
Jocelyn fixed her gaze on the two figures on the screen, her hatred for them growing deeper and deeper.
Even though it had been five years, Jocelyn remembered clearly how Theresa had set her up and how Ernest had permanently banned her from the entertainment industry. Together, they pushed Jocelyn to the brink of despair.
However, Jocelyn did not give in to her grief. She returned to the city five years later to exact her revenge.
Her phone suddenly rang. It was her son Jeffrey Murray.
Jeffrey proudly said, "Mommy, I'm at the hotel now. I've finished the assignment you gave me!"
"Awesome!"
"Tammy and I are going into the venue right now!"
Jocelyn nodded and smiled, "Okay."
Jeffrey was a rare child prodigy who knew a little about programming, so soon, everyone watching the ceremony would have the opportunity to see some shocking pictures.
Ernest and Theresa exchanged vows in front of their many guests in the magnificent hall.
On the screen behind them, slides were showing their romantic photos since they fell in love. Theresa was overcome with joy the moment Ernest placed the engagement ring on her finger.
But just as he was about to kiss his fiancée, the images on the screen vanished.
Their pictures turned into a video of Theresa making out with an ugly old man.
All of the guests who noticed the screen recognized the woman as Theresa, but the man was not Ernest.
"What exactly is going on? That's not Ernest, is it?"
"Oh, my God! Theresa is having sex with another man!"
"Doesn't Mr. Cloutier know his fiancée is cheating on him?"
Ernest and Theresa both turned their heads at the same time to look at the screen behind them when they heard the crowd talking.
Ernest yelled furiously after seeing the video, "Theresa, what the hell is that?"
Theresa was terrified. She quickly explained, "I have no idea! I'm not that woman! I never betrayed you!"
"Do you think I'm a goddamn fool?"
Ernest shook her hand violently, then growled at the staff, "Turn that thing off! Now!"
The staff, however, could not stop the video, no matter how hard they tried. The video not only continued to play, but it became increasingly obscene.
Theresa was trying to explain when two kids darted into the ballroom. One was a dapper little boy in a black suit, and the other was a sweet little girl in a pretty dress.
The two little ones ran straight toward Theresa. "Mommy! We finally found you!"
The fact that they called Theresa "Mommy" surprised everyone because no one knew she had any child.
Theresa was utterly taken aback. As she shoved the little girl away, she yelled, "Stop! Don't call me "mommy"! Why are you saying that? Security! Get them out of here!" Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Jeffrey immediately picked up his sister, Tammy Murray, from the ground.
Tammy exchanged a glance with her brother before breaking down in tears. She again reached for Theresa's wedding dress and said, "Please tell me you still love me, Mommy. Are you going to leave me? Mommy!"
Jeffrey also started pulling down on Theresa's wedding dress. "Mommy, you can't abandon me and my sister! We just want to stay with you. I'm begging you! Don't marry that man!"
Theresa's strapless wedding dress fell off when two kids pulled down on it. Theresa's top half was exposed, and everyone saw that she was only wearing two nipple pads.
Theresa began to feel a chill before realizing her dress had gone missing. She covered her chest while screaming and yelled, "Ah! Ernest, help me! Please help me!"
The engagement ceremony turned into a farce.
Theresa was at a loss for words, and Ernest appeared enraged. After learning that his fiancée had cheated on him, he was told that she may have had two children without telling him. He had never felt so humiliated in public before.
"What have you done, Theresa? You made me so disappointed! Maybe you can help yourself."
Ernest was so angry that he slapped her and threw her arm away.
Theresa cried so hard that she collapsed to the floor. Her makeup was in a mess.
After completing their task, Jeffrey and Tammy snuck out of the ballroom in silence.
A woman appeared at the ballroom's entrance just as Ernest was about to end the ridiculous ceremony.
She dressed elegantly in a black evening gown and walked toward him elegantly.
A white paper flower was pinned on her black hair., and the half mask she wore revealed her delicate nose and her red lips. She appeared to be refined and classy.
The woman became the focus when she walked into the room. Everyone wondered if she went to the wrong room because she was dressed as if she were going to a funeral.
"Hello, Mr. Cloutier and Ms. Chavez. It's been a while!"
"Are you Jocelyn? That's impossible!"
The moment Theresa laid eyes on Jocelyn, she was overcome with fear. She stared at Jocelyn and thought, "I thought she had died of drowning five years ago. Why is she at my engagement ceremony?"
Ernest suddenly realized why strange things had just happened when he saw Jocelyn.
He hadn't expected to find her alive and well.
Rumor has it that after Jocelyn was fired from the entertainment industry five years ago, she jumped off into the ocean, where her rotting corpse was later discovered.
Everyone assumed Jocelyn had died, so they were shocked when they saw her.
They even suspected that she was a ghost.
"Jocelyn? Is it you?"
"I know what it is! It was because of her! She's trying to get back at us." Theresa came back to her senses and screamed.
She not only ruined their engagement, but she also ruined their reputation.
"What do you want, Jocelyn?" Ernest shouted furiously.
"I'm only here to give you two a wedding gift! If you don't like the gift you just received, I have another one for you."
Although Jocelyn was smiling, she looked as cruel as if she had come straight from hell. After she clapped her hands, a line of people soon arrived at the door, and every two of them were carrying a big standing spray.
The standing sprays were placed in the middle of both sides of the ballroom, with words of blessing written on white ribbons that seemed incredibly ironic.
The engagement was broadcast live, so countless viewers could see what was going on from the live feed.
Jocelyn humiliated Ernest, Theresa, and their families, but that was only the beginning of her revenge plan.
