Derek, the moment he saw the news, went straight to the CEO’s office.
When he walked in, he saw Marcus seated at the desk, eyes riveted on the screen as he scrolled through a webpage. “Mr. Thomas,” Derek called, but Marcus did not respond.
From Marcus’s expression alone, Derek knew that the man was irate, and that made him nervous.
Marcus's eyes ran over Millie’s photo on the monitor before he grabbed up his phone and began scrolling through his contact list. When he failed to find the woman’s number, his demeanour hardened, and a palpable heaviness settled over the room.
“Give me that woman’s phone number,” Marcus demanded.
Derek immediately took out his phone, clicked on Millie’s contact information, and handed it to Marcus. Meanwhile, Gemma and Millie were on their way to the shopping mall.
“| like this flavour of ice cream. It's so sweet!” Gemma gushed.
Millie chuckled.

As she answered the call, she wondered who the caller was, as she did not recognize the number on the screen. The answer to her question came in the form of a familiar, angry voice that almost shattered her eardrums.
“Millie, you really have a lot of guts! Not only did you expose that I’m not crippled, but you also told everyone | married a vicious woman like you! You must feel like you've hit the jackpot now, don’t you? You must be so pleased with yourself right now.”
Millie moved the phone away from her ear with a confused expression on her face.
