Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 85

Happy reading….

Alatha Center.

A place that used to be looked down upon. Places that used to be called slums where the less fortunate people gathered have become settlements. Even though it is close to the city center, for some reason no one sees it as special. The place looks like it has no potential or people just don’t care.

But who would have thought that the Alatha Center has now been transformed by Jayden into a place with the highest stock price. Now people are competing to be able to invest in shares there. Alatha Center is now equal or even higher in degree than the surrounding places.

The luxury apartment that was predicted to be one of the most luxurious and grandest buildings in the city of Alatha caught everyone’s attention.

“I think the name Alatha Center now fits this place perfectly,” commented Jayden looking proudly at the ongoing construction of his luxury apartment. He didn’t even understand why the name Alatha Center had been given to that place.

Yes. It cannot be denied that there is indeed a ‘centre’, but it is not what people think when they first hear the word Alatha Center. One would think the name Alatha Center was given because it became the ‘center’ of a big city where you could find everything but in reality it isn’t. What you will find is a dirty slum.

But now, that slum and dirty place no longer exists. Replaced with a luxurious building which of course will be very fitting with the name Alatha Center.

“You are right, Mr. Jayden. Alatha Center is now really the center of Alatha city and that is thanks to your hard work,” Roy replied, taking pride in the place, making Jayden feel above the clouds. Very proud to seem arrogant.

Thanks to his hard work? Of course. Jayden has sacrificed everything for this place. It doesn’t matter if it’s right or wrong, the man still does it so that his obsession with making that place the center of his wealth can be realized. And now all of Jayden’s dreams have come true. Just waiting for his luxurious apartment to stand majestically and he will live there. In the highest place. He would never let anything or anyone get in his way again.

Yes. Whoever it is, including the people who even loved him very much. His obsession has now become absolute selfishness is undeniable.

And the person who feels the most impact is Elena Darwis. The wife who is so loved and loves Jayden.

“You just came alone?” asked Doctor Sam. Today is the second schedule for Jayden and Elena to check up. The two of them should be sitting in front of the green-eyed doctor but only Elena was there.

“Jayden has been very busy lately. It’s rare to go home anymore,” Elena said as if she was complaining about her fate to Sam. She even chuckled at the end of her sentence. Sad what happened to his household.

“Then why did you come here?” Sam closes the file containing Elena and Jayden’s examination report. The man looked at Elena so curious about the answer.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“You asked me to come.” Elena replied in a slightly curt tone.

“Yes. I did tell you to come, but not alone. If you want to do a check-up, Jayden has to be here too,” Sam explained, making Elena’s face even more irritated.

“So you’re indirectly telling me to get out of here?”

Sam nodded his head while putting on an innocent face. “Yeah, that’s it. You’re really smart, Elena.”

Everyone would probably be very happy if praised, Elena was no exception. But Sam’s recent compliment would be an exception. Instead of feeling happy, Elena actually felt so annoyed that she rolled her eyes in embarrassment. It seems Sam has a knack for pissing people off at him.

“Okay. I’ll just go,” Elena said and then left.

“Please!” said Sam still putting on his stupid face.

Don’t ever think the guy will hold back or apologize because neither of those things will ever happen.

Lunch arrived, Elena ended up at a cafe not too far from the hospital.

“The food has arrived!” said someone excitedly putting down a tray containing two servings of lunch.

“Thank you, Sam,” Elena said, smiling at the man who was sitting in front of her.

“You’re welcome. Let’s eat!” said Sam did not want to waste time to immediately eat food that looks very delicious. Elena just followed. They ate lunch without saying much, just asking each other whether the food they ordered tasted good or not.

“Why are you following me? Do you intend to apologize for upsetting me earlier?” asked Elena with a mocking smile after her and Sam’s lunch was over.

Sam then shook his head. “No. I just thought you wouldn’t like being alone. You need someone to talk.”

Elena’s mocking smile turned bitter. “You should have done this while you were inside earlier. It didn’t make me more annoyed.”

Sam pushed his empty plate slightly towards the center of the table and then stacked his hands on the empty sides. His gaze focused on Elena who was looking down to hide her face.

“When I was inside, I played the role of a doctor serving patients. If the patient doesn’t obey what I say, then I won’t serve him well,” said Sam, showing how professional he was. He doesn’t discriminate between patients at all, whether the patient is family, friends or someone he doesn’t know. If indeed the patient didn’t listen to him, Sam would not hesitate to reprimand him or even serve him.

“But outside, I’m not only your doctor but also your friend, Elena.” Sam said that sincerely, even the man smiled warmly which made Elena feel more at ease. Sam really hasn’t changed, still a good friend. Maybe because of that Elena didn’t take Sam’s words to heart at all.

“So tell me, why did you come alone? Wasn’t it Jayden who really wanted you to get pregnant? Why didn’t he come instead?” Sam asked, taking all the questions that had piled up in his head.

Elena didn’t answer right away. The woman instead sighed softly as she gripped the glass filled with warm drink in front of her tightly. The warm sensation spread from her hands to her body.

“Yes. You’re right. It was Jayden who wanted me to get pregnant quickly. But lately I’ve been thinking, does he really want it or not,” Elena said with doubts.

“Why do you think like that?”

“Because he refuses to even touch me.”

Sam was unmoved. Elena’s hazel eyes radiated extreme disappointment. Sam seemed to be able to feel how angry and frustrated that woman was. Elena was just trying to make her husband happy but it was so difficult.

“Then how can we have a child if he doesn’t even want to touch me. I’ve done everything you said but it’s useless,” Elena said sadly.

When it came to Jayden, Elena would turn into a very weak woman. And Sam didn’t really like Elena like that. Love slave. thought Sam.

“So, are you going to stop here?” asked Sam staring intensely at Elena.

Does it have to be like that?

To be continued….
