Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 80

Happy reading….

“Is he your son?” asked Shila coldly.

Hera blinked a few times before looking up to see the mother of her lover. The woman pulled up the corners of her lips to form a charming smile.

“Yes. Juan is my son,” answered Hera in a very proud tone.

Lie? Seriously. Hera couldn’t lie, especially when it involved Juan. Hera had already thought of the worst consequences in this scenario. Where Shila might not approve of her relationship with Haidar after learning about his status.

Remembering that made Hera’s heart beat painfully to the point that the proud smile that once radiated turned bitter.

The two of them let silence dominate for a few moments.

Surprised.

Shila was so surprised by Hera’s confession. Since the woman came with a baby in her arms, Shila already guessed that the baby was Hera’s child. But she brushed it off and thought that the baby was Hera’s little brother. Even if it doesn’t really make sense. But after hearing Hera’s own confession, now everything is clear.

“So you mean… you’re a widow with one child?” For some reason, Shila’s question seemed to still not believe it.

The bitter smile still appeared on Hera’s face. “Yes,” she replied and took a deep breath before continuing. “I think before Haidar introduced me to you, he already told you this. Or at least after we met.

“I was also wrong because I didn’t tell you from the start. I’m sorry, Madam Shila. You must have been very surprised.”

Shila turned her body to face forward. “Of course I was very surprised and didn’t expect it,” she said, no longer looking at Hera. “Haidar is at Viona’s house now. Maybe he will come soon,” Shila continued before leaving.

Hera stared at the woman’s back sadly until she disappeared behind the door.

‘If I hadn’t come here, would things have been different?’

For a moment Hera regretted her decision to follow Haidar. But what can she do? Now, just waiting for Haidar to come back.

It was almost night and Hera was still silent, looking at Juan who was happily playing on the bed. Accompanied by some toys that Hera deliberately brought so that her son would not be fussy.

Every time Juan looked at her, Hera would smile but after that her face would be sad again.

Since Shila left, Hera was so afraid to leave the room. To be exact, she didn’t know that she had to face the Haidar family alone. She really hoped that Haidar would come soon, but until Juan started to get fussy because he wanted to drink milk, the man never came back.

“Honey, please be quiet,” Hera begged desperately, holding Juan in her arms. She really didn’t want to leave now. However, it seemed that Juan’s hunger could no longer be tolerated, leaving Hera with no choice.

When will open the door, at the same time from outside someone will knock on the door.

“Oh Ridwan!”

Both of them were shocked but only Hera spoke.

“Sorry to startle you,” Ridwan said, smiling awkwardly.

“It’s okay,” Hera replied, still trying to silence Juan.

“I was about to ask why your son was crying so hard,” Ridwan said, looking worried at Juan.

“He’s just hungry. I was just going to make some milk for his.”

“May I help?” Ridwan without thinking offers to help. He saw that Hera was overwhelmed enough to silence Juan.

“Of course. If it doesn’t bother you,” said Hera, handing over a paper bag filled with milk and a bottle of Juan’s milk.

“Not a problem at all,” Ridwan replied, taking the paper bag and inviting Hera to head to the kitchen immediately.

Ridwan carefully followed Hera’s instructions because this was also the first time he had made milk for small children.

“It’s not that difficult. In fact, this is nothing compared to when Mr. Haidar gave me a job,” Ridwan joked between his work, making Hera chuckle.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Hera admits that Ridwan is a very reliable person. It can be seen from the way the man moves. So organized, unhurried and neat. Even though it was his first time doing it, Ridwan could do the job well. It’s not wrong for Haidar to make him a confidant.

“Thank you,” said Hera, taking the bottle of milk and giving it to Juan.

“You’re welcome,” Ridwan replied. The man then offered instant coffee to Hera and the woman happily accepted it.

“By the way, where is everyone?” asked Hera shortly after Ridwan put the coffee cup in front of him.

Entering the kitchen, Hera didn’t see anyone in the house. The house was so quiet leaving the two of them alone.

“I heard that Madam Shila followed Haidar and Mr. Thomas to Viona’s house,” Ridwan replied, sitting in front of Hera, who was bounded by the kitchen table.

“Did something happen to Viona?”

“She’s still devastated so her situation is a bit concerning.” Ridwan then took a sip of his warm coffee. “And I heard that Madam Shila will bring Viona to live here until her condition improves,” he continued.

Hera nodded slightly. “That’s better,” she whispered softly.

Being with people who are close to us when we are down is the best. Hera really understood how messy Viona was now. And for the umpteenth time Hera asked her heart to understand. But it turned out to be very difficult. Hera was still envious and jealous because Haidar was now with Viona and not with her.

And the jealousy intensified when Haidar was back with his father and mother and of course with Viona.

Hera wanted to meet Haidar immediately. Tells her boyfriend she’s there. But Hera’s footsteps stopped when she saw a sight that made her chest feel tight.

“Why did my father leave me alone?! Who will I be with? Why would he have the heart to?! Does he not love me anymore?!” shouted Viona crying loudly.

From there, Thomas and Shila were quite overwhelmed in persuading Viona to calm down.

“Calm down, Viona! I beg you,” said Haidar holding both of Viona’s shoulders, shaking them slightly. This did not succeed in calming Viona, the woman became even more hysterical, leaving Haidar with no other choice.

Haidar pulled Viona’s small body into his arms. He hugged her tightly as he continued to gently stroke her messy mane.

“You still have me, Vio. Please don’t say that,” said Haidar.

Everyone heard the words clearly. Including Hera who was standing frozen in the kitchen doorway which is directly connected to the living room where Haidar hugged Viona.

But that didn’t completely hurt Hera because she knew that Haidar saw her there, but instead the man looked away indifferent. Hera blinked a few times then snorted softly.

Was Hera the only one who missed Haidar that much while the man just kept quiet? Not even welcoming Hera.

Then why was Hera there?

To be continued….
