STICK WITH ME

It’s school over. I waited for Leo a little bit before he came out.

I followed him to the Mall he said we were going to. This place is a bit far from school.

“Where are you taking me to? Don’t you think we’ve walked enough?” I groaned.

“Then should we go back?” Leo smirked.

“No, not like that. Let’s continue. But we could have taken a bus” I sighed.

“We’re already here” Leo said pointing at the shopping mall.

“Wow, this place is huge” I opened my mouth in surprise.

“Yes, they launched recently and they currently need a part timer” Leo explained.

“Wow”

“Let’s go in then” Leo opened the door and make a gesture for Mr to wall in.

“Welcome, what drink will you like to order?” The waiter asked

“Do you need a part-

“Please who would love to have a drink-” Leo cut in sharply.

I glared at him

The waiter became confused.

“Please which drink, would you love to have?” She asked calmly.

“The best you have but not an alcoholic drink” Leo replied smiling.

The waiter left immediately.

“Leo what’s wrong with you? I didn’t come here to have a drink” I sighed.

“Mia, you ought to calm down a little. After the drink, you walk calmly to that table and tell them what you came for” Leo sighed.

“Whatever” I hissed.

“This is your order” The waiter presented and walked out immediately.

The waiter kept looking at me as she turned to leave. She looked a bit familiar, like someone I’ve met once or twice.

“Now, we’re done” I said to Leo and rushed to the table.

“Aish” Leo sighed. He followed me at once.

“You need a part timer right?” I asked gently.

“Yes” The receptionist  replied.

“Okay, I’ll love to work here as a part timer ” I smiled.

“Okay, fill this form then” He said handing the form to me.

I filled it at once.

“Leo, what If I have no experience as a part timer?” I whispered in his ear.

“Then, you’re not qualified” He smirked.

“That’s a complete lie” I retorted.

I handed over the form to the receptionist.

She left for a while.

“You really need this work, why?” Leo asked.

“I really need to pay for my sister’s hospital bills. It’s alot and my mum’s pub isn’t paying enough,  so I have to look for a part time work to help out” I explained.

“That’s nice” Leo nodded his head.

“You’re qualified for the work, you’re free to resume anytime you want. The work is a daily pay of hundred dollars” The receptionist said to me as she walked in.

“Anytime I want? Can I start now?” I asked her excitedly.

“Wow” The receptionist opened her mouth in surprise.

“That’s okay” She said.

“Mia, why not start tomorrow?” Leo asked me.

“No, I want to start today, do you know what is hundred dollars?” I asked him.

Leo and the receptionist laughed.

I changed my dress and resumed work immediately.  Leo stayed and waited for me till my shift is over.

I recognised the waiter. She’s the girl I bumped into mistakenly at the hospital.

“My name is Winter” She introduced herself to me.

“Am Mia” I replied.

The name Winter sounded very familiar in my ears like someone I met in my former school but not her face.

My shift was over. Leo waited for me in front of the mall.

I ran out of the mall with my pay and hugged him tightly.

“Thank you so much, Leo”

“Why do I feel like my heart beat increased?” Leo asked in his mind.

He pushed me away immediately.

“You’re crossing the line” Leo stuttered.

“Which Line?” I asked staring around curiously.

“Nevermind, let’s go home. It’s late already ” Leo yelled.

“No, am visiting my sister I the hospital,  I want tobpay for her hospital bills. The money is enough now. The money my Mum gave to us and this one is enough ” I gushed counting the money. *              *              *              *          *              *

“Oh, Mr Brown you came to visit?” Monica asked Mr. Brown.

“Stop calling me Mr. Brown is weird. Am your boyfriend for goodness sake” He laughed.

“Oh, sorry. I haven’t gotten used to that. We just started dating few days before I got sick ” Monica sighed.

“Nevermind, how are you doing now?” Mr. Brown asked.

“Am getting better at least” Monica soothed.

“That’s nice then” He nodded his head.

Mia and Leo walked in.

Mia stared at Mr. Brown curiously.

“Mia, this is Mr. Brown my boyfriend ” Monica introduced.

“Boyfriend?!” I exclaimed.

“Yeah”

“Nice to meet you Mia” Mr. Brown waved at me.

I faked a smile.

“Well,  Monica, This is your hospital bills. It’s enough now. You could hand it over to the Doctor as soon as he comes. I’ll be going to the Mum’s pub now. To help out” I said.

“That’s nice. Thank you ” Monica smiled.

“We’ll excuse you guys now” I left. Leo waved at them before leaving.

“That’s weird” I muttered.

“What?” Leo asked curiously.

“Monica never told us that she is dating, I mean we just moved in few day ago” I explained.

“Maybe they’ve already met before moving in here. You never know” Leo soothed.

“But, why will he come to visit without even getting something for his sick girlfriend, not even a drink” I smirked.

“That’s kind of true, The weird part is why will he collect the money from you that way, like someone who was already expecting it. He doesn’t look like he cares about Monica” Leo suggested.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

“I noticed that too. He doesn’t look like someone who cares about Monica. He even counted the money I gave to him” I opened my eyes in shock.

“What if he’s trying to dupe her?”
