Chapter 91 It Takes Talents To Be Stunning
After paying for the dress, Lydia Ginos swaggered away with Sherry Sean.
Only Amanda Jewell and Joleen Lewis were left in the store.
Joleen angrily said, “This Lydia Ginos is just like how you described – she is the same kind of people as Sherry Sean.”
The salesperson had an apologetic look on her face. “I’m really sorry for what happened.”
Amanda said, “It’s all right. It was just an accident. You didn’t expect such a thing to happen either.”
She then pulled Joleen, who was still angry, and said, “Alright, pick another one for me.”
Joleen forced herself to calm down and comforted herself, “Anyway, you’re so good-looking. No matter what you wear, you’re good-looking. Clothes are just accessories.”
Amanda was picking other dresses and said casually, “I just think it’s strange. How did Sherry Sean get to know Lydia Ginos?”
“What’s so strange about it? Ducco is only so big. It’s normal for these rich girls to know each other.”
“That’s true.”
Amanda didn’t have time to think too much about it. Lydia Ginos and Sherry Sean, the two daughters of rich families, only had men and luxury items in their minds. They were not even comparable to Olinka combined, so Amanda didn’t care about them.
After shopping, Amanda and Joleen found a restaurant in the mall to eat.
As soon as they entered the restaurant, they saw someone waving at them from near the window.
Joleen waved her hand confidently in response. Amanda was stunned. “Why is Patrick Dolley here? Did you ask him out?”
“He wants to see you, but you’ve been avoiding him these days. He has no choice but to ask me for help.”
“Are you an idiot? He asked you to help, so you helped him?”
Amanda was speechless all of a sudden.
Joleen pulled her back and said, “Alright, since you’re already here, let’s just eat a meal. It’s been a while since we last gathered.”
Amanda cursed in her heart. Is a woman brainless when she falls in love with a man? Why does she agree to whatever he says unconditionally? She clearly likes him, but she still agreed to ask another girl out for him…
“You must have been waiting for a long time.”
Joleen pulled Amanda to sit down and asked, “Have you ordered yet?”
Patrick glanced at Amanda. “I ordered some of the appetizers. I don’t know what else you want to order. I was waiting for you guys to order more dishes.”
“I’m not picky about food. Anything will do.”Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Amanda forced a smile and said, “Me too.”
After calling the waiter to order some food, Patrick poured water for the two of them. He poured the first glass for Amanda, but Amanda gave it directly to Joleen.
Patrick glanced at Joleen with a complicated expression.
Joleen seemed to have thought of something and took out a document from her bag. “By the way, this is the contract for a legal consultant. Please take a look.”
“Legal consultant?”
Amanda was stunned. “What legal consultant?”
Joleen said, “Isn’t there no legal department in our company? Our legal staff doesn’t have enough experience either. So, I asked Patrick to consult us for a period of time. Of course, he gave us a very favorable price.”
“Why didn’t you tell me in advance?”
“I thought you would definitely agree.” Joleen put on a surprised expression. “We’ve known each other for so long, do we still need to discuss it?”
“Patrick, I’m sorry.”
Amanda stood up and said, “Joleen, come out with me.”
Joleen followed Amanda out of the restaurant with a blank look on her face.
“What are you doing?”
“I should be the one asking that question!” Amanda snapped. “Why didn’t you discuss it with me in advance?”
“It’s not too late to discuss it now. Besides, isn’t it more reliable to find someone you know to be the legal consultant?”
“It’s not a matter of reliability, Joleen…” Amanda took a deep breath. “Do you still like Patrick?”
“This is business. I won’t be sloppy. I won’t have any personal feelings.”
“What if I don’t agree?”
Joleen saw Patrick standing at the entrance of the restaurant as soon as Amanda said those words.
Joleen replied, “Then tell him yourself. I can’t say those words.”
After that, she went straight into the restaurant.
When she passed by Patrick, she took a deep look at him. Her gaze was indescribably complicated.
Amanda was taken aback when she saw Patrick. The atmosphere was a little awkward.
Patrick took a deep breath and walked toward her. “Amanda, I took the initiative to ask Joleen about the consultant position. She didn’t think much of it and thought that you’d definitely agree. I’m sorry to put you in a difficult position.”
“I’m sorry, Patrick. I’ve troubled you too much before, so I don’t want to trouble you anymore.”
“Is this the only reason?”
Patrick’s words came as a surprise to Amanda.
Patrick said, “You seem to have been avoiding me lately.”
“No.”
“You did, Amanda. I can tell if you’re lying.”
Patrick’s gaze was sharp and piercing. “Amanda, I heard that you broke up with Iverson Byran. That’s a good thing.”
Hearing the words “Iverson Byran”, Amanda’s pupils constricted, and she cut Patrick off. “Patrick, I don’t want to embarrass Joleen, so if you’re willing, we’d be honored to give you the position as a legal consultant.”
Patrick was briefly stunned. “Why did you suddenly change your mind?”
Amanda took a look at the restaurant. Joleen had looked at them several times through the glass window.
“Let’s go in and eat first. We can talk while eating.”
Amanda smiled politely while she also looked aloof.
She knew very well what Patrick wanted to say, but she didn’t want to hear it. It was good for everyone if he didn’t speak up his mind. Once he said it out loud, how would she face Joleen?
Patrick clenched his fist and swallowed his words.
Neither of them noticed that someone had already taken a photo.
Behind the railing on one floor up of the shopping mall, Sherry Sean took a photo of Amanda and Patrick talking alone outside from a high angle.
Sherry put away her phone and said to Lydia Ginos beside her, “Patrick and Amanda have known each other since college, and they’ve always had an ambiguous relationship. My brother has always hated him. How long has it been? It’s been Iverson Byran and Patrick Dolley, and there are so many men around her.”
Lydia seemed to be deep in thought, but she was still calm. “This is all your own words. There’s no evidence, and no one will believe you even if you tell them. Is there any way to take a more exciting picture?”
As long as she could make Iverson hate Amanda, she would definitely believe that she could marry into the Byran family.
“Even more exciting?” Sherry frowned. “I’m afraid it’ll be a little difficult.”
While she was thinking, her cell phone screen suddenly flashed, and an anonymous message popped up.
“Lydia, look.”
Lydia’s attention was drawn to the screen of her phone. When she saw the message, her eyes lit up. “It’s easy to get what we want. Even the heavens are helping us deal with this woman.”
